Altar Guild: We would like to thank members of the Altar Guild and all those
people who answered our
request for help in decorating the
Cathedral. It was a beautiful
floral display and we received
many compliments. Thank you
also to the people who brought in
flowers. Some of these were
made into pretty posies which we
sold in the Hall. We hope to do
this again next year if flowers are
available.
Thank you to Barry Philp who grew and gave us the beautiful peony roses which
decorated the Altar area. Also to the volunteer who came and polished the brass
vases for us, we appreciated your assistance.
We are holding a meeting, (short) at 5.00 p.m. on Tuesday, 11 th November in
Meeting Room 1 to welcome some new volunteers and to organise the roster for
next year and also to discuss the Christmas flowers. If you are able to help with
laundering the Cathedral linen, polishing brass or arranging flowers do come
along or leave your name with Pamela in the Parish Office. We welcome any
assistance from the men if they have some spare time.

St Mary’s News ~
Thank you everyone who contributed so generously last Sunday to the
collection of food items for the Uniting Church. The next collection of food
items will be on Sunday, 7th December, for the St Vincent de Paul Society and
its outreach to needy people.
And a very big ‘thank you’ to Rose Parkes and all who helped ensure that St
Mary’s grounds were attractive and welcoming to all visitors during the St
Peter’s Garden Weekend. The flower arrangements in the Church and Hall
were lovely and the various displays interesting. A very big ‘thank you’ to
Jan Clark, too, for her displays of beautiful work in the Church. They were
very special.
Next Sunday, 16th November, after the 8.00 am service, a plaque on a brick
plinth beside a tree planted in memory of Trish Johnstone will be ‘unveiled’
by the Rev Jim Caley. Morning tea will be served in the Hall afterwards.
St Mary’s Summer Taizé Service will be held at 5.00 pm on Advent Sunday,
30th November. All welcome.
The Australian Anglican Church Calendar is now available and on sale at St
Mary’s ($12). Please ring Gwenda Shannon on 6772 6437 if you would like
one put aside for you. The calendars are attractive and very informative.
Here is advance notice that on Sunday, 23rd November, (Christ the King)
there will be a short service of dedication during the 8.00 am Service for all
involved in various ministries at St Mary’s. Light refreshments will be served
afterwards to mark the end of the present Church Year and to welcome in the
