Wednesday 5 November
Assemble mid morning in Johannesburg before boarding our flight on Singapore Airlines to Vietnam.
Passengers from the Western Cape can board in Cape Town.
Thursday 6 November
On arrival at Danang International Airport, we transfer by air-conditioned coach to our hotel in Hoi An, a
town with World Heritage status (they list it as one of the top 3 small towns to visit in the world). After
checking in, dinner at one of Hoi An’s superb restaurants is a must...at prices from a previous century!
And the Montgomerie and the Norman courses are just minutes from our hotel, so the keen golfers can
slip away to practice at the world class facilities if their game needs it.

Friday 7 November
Our first round of golf in Vietnam is at the prestigious the MONTGOMERIE LINKS at Danang which is
currently rated the #1 course in Vietnam. A masterpiece of design which has married links-style features
with the natural vegetation of the coastal region, all within the view of the ocean.
A golfing experience never to be forgotten.

really get into the Vietnamese mood...shopping, coffee, tailors and crafts, then more shopping. And

Saturday 8 November
This morning is an optional outing to MY SON, a World Heritage site steeped in history and filled with
centuries-old architectural marvels, some of which can be traced back as far 450AD. My Son is set in a
dense, vegetated valley and is both a tourist and a photographer’s dream excursion.

Along the way we stop to marvel at the local population working their rice paddies and to buy delicacies
from kerb-side vendors.

On our return, join the now traditional bike outing to the beach for a beer. Loads of laughter, all the local
sights complete with rice paddies and water buffalo, and an afternoon filled with photo-gallery memories.

Sunday 9 November
Today has been kept as an open day to explore the region, be pampered in the hotel Spa, relax beside
the pool or spend a day snorkelling, enjoy an optional round of golf, or tanning and enjoying a seafood
lunch on nearby CHAM Island....perhaps the most natural beach you will ever visit.

Monday 10 November
Golf today is at the magnificent Greg Norman-designed DANANG GOLF CLUB, a spectacular links-style
course which winds through the dunes and natural vegetation and offers sweeping views across the
coastline. The designer regards it as one of his most memorable achievements and the course’s high
ranking in Asia is testimony to the design and ambience of a truly memorable golfing experience.

For the non-golfers, if you have not yet attended the half-day cookery course, don’t miss out on the fun
and a great morning where you will learn about the most popular Vietnamese dishes and recognize and
understand the basic ingredients. You will also be taught the many ways to cook and serve rice. And to
round off the fascinating course you will enjoy your Vietnamese dishes for lunch!
After lunch, visit the silk worm farm, and browse through the spectacular range of silk products, from fine
clothing to decorative wall hangings. And be sure to stop a while in one of Hoi An’s famous coffee shops,
serving the finest Vietnamese coffees which have elevated Vietnam to the #2 coffee exporter in the world.

Today we return to the MONTGOMERIE LINKS for another opportunity to play Vietnam’s #1 course. It is
always easier the second time and the knowledge gained from the first round played will no doubt make
for an even more enjoyable day’s golf. Once more... a golfing experience never to be forgotten.

Wednesday 12 November
Today is when everyone catches up on doing what they have wanted to do all week and not managed to
get done yet, or to go back and relive some of your best moments of this never-to-be-forgotten
experience.
The nearby golf courses are also no doubt going to be high up on the to-do list for an optional
round....they are courses you will want to play over and over.
And for the sun-worshippers, the hotel’s pool or the palm-lined beach await.

Thursday 13 November
This morning has been kept open for some last minute shopping or to collect your new clothing from the
tailor. Or even to just enjoy one last massage in the nearby Spa or relaxing beside the hotel’s pool before
our mid- afternoon flight back home.
Friday 14 November
Our flight arrives in Johannesburg early-morning, and it’s time to share our memories of wonderful
Vietnam with all those unfortunate folk that were not with us on the tour (and to find a way past customs
with all our purchases from the bazaars of Vietnam).

Please Note:
1. A deposit of R3 500 per person is required to secure your place on the tour
2. All prices are strictly subject to exchange rate fluctuations.
3. Tour members will be able to leave the group at the end of the tour and extend their stay. A nominal levy for
the extension may be charged by the airline.
4. As the tour costing has been calculated on EFT payments, no credit card payments can be accepted. Cash,
cheque and international deposit fees will be for the account of the depositor.
5. Entrance visas are required for Vietnam, but are simple and inexpensive to obtain before departure. Full
support will be provided for obtaining visas.
6. A handicap certificate issued by the player’s club not more than 10 days prior to departure should be carried
during the tour...
7. Passengers over the age of 65 years on the date of departure will be required to supply a medical certificate
of good health.
8. The Golf Travel Company will book golf cars when requested to do so by clients but cannot accept
responsibility for availability on the day.
