Beginning in November, the Clothing Exchange at Lakeshore Women’s Resource Centre will be replaced with a Winter Clothing Drive for the season. Commencing November
1st, donations of jackets, ski-pants, mitts, toques, scarves, and boots will be accepted
at our building #1 2nd Ave. North in Ashern. Our regular office hours are Monday through
Friday 9 am – 4 pm. We also have an after-hours donation drop off box available which
is located behind our building.
The first date for the winter clothing drive will be November 20th from 9 am – 4 pm.
Everyone is welcome and the items will be available for giveaway.
We also wish to announce that we will not be accepting donations of clothing (such as
shirts, jeans, pants, etc.), household items, or furniture until further notice. We apologize
for any inconvenience this may cause.
The Lakeshore Women’s Resource Centre would like to thank everyone who has donated items to our Clothing Exchange – we have seen tremendous generosity from the
people in this community as well as surrounding communities.
For more information regarding the winter clothing drive, please call Justine or Melanie

Thank you
one and all for your attendance
at the ‘Tea & Supper’ celebrating
my 80th birthday on Oct.18th.
Your presence, your very kind, generous
words & the beautiful cards certainly made
a memorable delightful day for me. Thank
you too, to my precious families who planned,
baked, prepared food & just plain worked to
make that day so very special for me. Heartfelt
thanks to the many unable to attend - who have
since phoned, sent messages in person,
through my daughters, as well as facebook.
I am truly humbled and very appreciative.
My sincere thanks also to Celynne for the
beautiful table decorations, to Khalida for the
amazing ‘movie’ suing our own pictures, to
those who travelled to share in this wonderful
day & to those who so generously sent the
beautiful flowers, which are still looking great!
You have all done so much to give
me memories to enjoy
time & time again.
May God Bless you all!

Reflections
This week’s inspirational message by Addy Oberlin
This year Remembrance Day will have a special meaning for many people. We lost
some soldiers in our own country without a battle. We live in a free country, but it
seems that our freedom has become more fragile. In comparison with other countries who live under an oppressor we have many freedoms. However to be really
free we do not think of physical freedoms but of our spiritual freedom. The only way
to be really free is when we give our heart and soul to Christ, who died for us on
the cross. There will be no fear for death any more, because a better place is waiting
for us. We can then look forward to eternal freedom in Heaven.
This Remembrance Day let us ponder these thoughts. We need to stand on guard
for our country. I know that many soldiers gave their lives so that I could grow up in
peace. Were the soldiers, who gave their lives for others to live in freedom, prepared
to die? Let's remember them.

The Lundar Elks continue to contribute to their community despite having a reduced number of members. In addition to their other community work they host an Old-Time Country
Dance once a month. These lively occasions take place from 1:00pm to 5:00pm on the
13 Main St., Lundar. MB
last Sunday of each month in the Lundar Community Hall except in December when the
dance is in mid-month. Each dance features a popular live fiddle band such as Mark Morisseau, Country Pride, By Request, Highway Six or the Trailriders and the dances also offer
a fine lunch, door prizes, and raffles for a very reasonable admission. These events, attended by 80-120 people, serve a two-fold purpose in the community - to help contribute
to community health by providing a great way to exercise and socialize, and to help main- Shampoo, Conditioner

occasions. We thank all of our volunteers for the hard work which makes the Old-Time
