Ararat Neighbourhood House is funded through the Department of Human Services and also seeks to maintain viability through available grants and local initiatives ANH has a close working partnership with Ararat Men’s Shed GCH and ANH are currently in partnership for the purpose of GCH to provide the ANH committee with support for governance and management of the operational affairs of the house and through that development, to continue to provide the Ararat community with a viable and active community space that drives engagement and participation in a broad range of activities. Together we have funded a project for the last six months to seek input from the community and other stakeholders, articulating the needs of Ararat and the business the House should be involved in. To provide leadership for ANH staff and volunteers. 3. To use the community development model to provide ANH services and programs including promotion of the ANH 4. To be responsible for the implementation ANH strategic directions and work plans and the day to day operations, courses and community sessions With the AHN CoM, ensure house facilities are accessible to all and maintained in good order. To be responsible, with the GCH Finance Manager, for some financial tasks: petty cash, invoice ratification, monitoring expenditure against budget, creating a workable system of reporting to the steering committee for the finance of both operational funding (GCH) and House occupancy funding (ANH) including budget development and implementation. Other Conditions: 1. No overtime allowance is made for this position. Time in lieu of time worked will be available but must be taken at a mutually agreed time with the Extended Care Programs Manager and/or Chief Executive Officer and may not be accrued to more than 15hrs/fortnight pro rata of employed hours. Time in lieu should be used for exceptional circumstances instead of becoming a regular practice. It is expected that no more than 15hrs of TIL will be carried forward from one pay period to the next. 2. The organisation's cars can be used for work related activities, depending on availability. Use of own car will be reimbursed at the modified RACV mileage rate. Note: The use of a private vehicle to travel in excess of 40km return needs to be approved in advance by the extended Care Program Manager, Finance Manager or the CEO 3. This position will have an annual appraisal at which time the job description will be reviewed by the Extended Care Programs Manager at GCH and a GCH Core member in consultation with the employee and modified if necessary. OH&S is a shared responsibility at GCH. 5. Annual Leave and Personal (Sick) Leave will be payable on a pro rata basis. 6. GCH understands that "normal working hours" are between 8am - 6pm Monday to Friday. Appointments, programs and other work may, at times, fall outside these hours but for OHS reasons are subject to the signing of the "Time Sheet". 7. Superannuation contributions will be paid by Grampians Community Health in line with the Superannuation Guarantee Act 8. All permanent GCH staff have access to salary packaging which is offered in line with current legislation. The employee will incur any costs or liabilities associated with these requirements during the period of the contract 9.
