Pujya Shri Rakeshbhai Jhaveri’s Visit to Singapore
We are pleased to inform that Pujya Shri Rakeshbhai Jhaveri will be visiting Singapore from Nov 12-13 at the
invitation of Shri Mayurbhai Ghelani & family.
Pujya Shri Rakeshbhai requires little introduction, having visited and graced us in Singapore, on a number of
occasions previously. He led our Society’s Shibir held in 2005 at Desaru/Johore and also joined us for our
Sthanak Re-opening and Pratishtha Mahotsav in 2010.
We encourage all members to take benefit from this opportunity extended to us by Shri Mayurbhai Ghelani &
family, who has organized the following:
Discourses in Gujarati
Date: Wed, 12th - Thu, 13th November
Time: 7:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.
Venue: Singapore Jain Religious Society, 18 Jalan Yasin, Singapore 417991
Swamivatsalya (Dinner) - 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on both the days. All are invited.

Closure of Sthanak Level-2 Hall, including Ghabharo (Mon, Nov 17 2014 to Sat, Jan 03 2015)
We wish to remind SJRS Members that further to earlier communications, we have now confirmed the schedule
with our Contractors to carry-out the required retiling works for the entire flooring at our Sthanak Level-2 Hall
(in view of the unfortunate “popping tiles” situation that we have encountered). The retiling works will take
approximately 6 weeks (mid-Nov 2014 to beg-Jan 2015). We will also be taking this opportunity to carry out
other needed maintenance works at our Sthanak during this period.
Access control to Sthanak Level-2 Hall, including Ghabharo will be as follows:
Monday, 17 November 2014* - Sthanak Level-2 Hall, including Ghabharo will be CLOSED
* There will be NO access to Level 2 for Members & Public; and consequently also, no possibility for Darshan/Puja
at our Ghabharo.
Sunday, 04 January 2015** - Sthanak Level-2 Hall, including Ghabharo will be RE-OPENED
** Tentative date – Members will be advised of any further changes
We also request Members to minimize the usage of the Sthanak during the renovation period. Please note that
access to Sthanak Level-1 Hall/Rooms will be severely restricted as the Contractors’
materials/equipment/workers, etc. will occupy a substantial part of our Level-1 as a holding area.
All requests for usage of Sthanak Level-1 will need to be applied for as per the usual procedure. For any further
queries on above, do contact Rajesh Shah (HP: 93871773) or Bakul Goda (HP: 9852 2386).
We sincerely regret this unavoidable inconvenience and thank all Members for your understanding and
support on above matter.
YJS Diwali Event 2014 (Nov 7)
This year's 'Desi with a Dash of Gold' event indeed turned out to be a "crack-er", with a total of 40 members
attending the event all decked up in their ethnic attire with gold accessories. Being one of the biggest and
most popular event, the ExCo had decided to open it up to all SJRS youths, regardless of being part of YJS or
not. The S$5 entrance fee was used to donate to Jamaiyah Home, one of the charitable organizations that SJRS
is affiliated with.
To sign up for YJS, please contact Poonam @ 9822 6977 or Vikhash @ 9484 1706
Local Workshop Event (Feb 19-21, 2015)

Shibirs, with the only difference to hold it in Singapore; such as to enable maximum participation for our
Members.
An exciting lineup of workshop leaders and activities is being planned, with the intent to providing an uplifting
spiritual experience, covering all age groups. More details will follow. However, do book these dates in your
calendar, as this will be an event you will not want to miss.
