Call for Paper (First Announcement)
The Chinese Research Institute of Construction Management
(CRIOCM) in collaboration with Chongqing University (CQU)
has the pleasure to invite academics, researchers, professionals to
participate in CRIOCM 2014, the 19th International Symposium
on "Advancement of Construction Management and Real Estate"
during 7-9 November, 2014 in Chongqing China.
Chongqing is one of four municipal cities in China. She has a
long history of over 4000 years, and she is the ancient center of
Chinese Bayu Culture. The mega-city Chongqing has a
population of 32 million, located at Southwest China with a
beautiful island, towering mountains and fantastic river valleys.
She has been experiencing rapid development to be the economic
centre of the upstream Yangtze basin, a modern manufacturing
base and transportation center and communication hub in the
areas of Southwest China.
The previous 18 annual CRIOCM Symposiums have laid solid
foundation for CRIOCM 2014. We cordially invite you to
contribute papers and to attend the conference. We look forward
to seeing you over CRIOCM 2014 in Chongqing.

II. Submission of Papers
1. Paper Format
 All papers must be written in English. References in Chinese and other languages should be
translated into English.
 The length of paper should not exceed 10 pages (including tables and diagrams).
 Detailed formatting instructions are available at http://www.bre.polyu.edu.hk/criocm.
 One author should not submit more than 2 first-authorship papers.
 Paper preparation should comply with the editing formats by using Microsoft Word 2003 or
advanced version.
2. Abstract and Paper Submission
 Authors should submit abstracts and papers to [email protected]. Abstract should not exceed
200 words.
 The number of authors in a paper is limited to 3 (with titles, academic degree, research interest,
contact and Email address).
 Authors should indicate the theme/s that their papers relate to, e.g. CM02 - Sustainable
construction.
 Papers will be assessed and selected through a peer review process.

III. Paper Publication
 All accepted papers will be included in the Conference Proceedings which is to be published by
Springer Publications. Proceedings will be submitted to ISTP Catalog for indexing. Inclusion of
the Proceedings in EI Catalog is to be processed by Springer Publications.
 Quality papers will be considered for development for publication in a Special Issue of
International Journal of Construction Management.
 Best papers will be awarded CRIOCM 2014 Best Paper Prize.

VII Symposium Registration
(A) Registration on or before July 10, 2014:
• RMB2500/person or US$350/person (normal delegate, paper included in Proceedings)
• RMB2000/person or US$320/person (CRIOCM Members who will also pay RMB500 for annual
membership fee, paper included in Proceedings)
• RMB1500/person or US$200/person (attending symposium only)
• Free registration for students (student cards must be presented in registration)
(B) Registration after July 10, 2014:
• RMB3000/person or US$420/person (normal delegate, paper included in Proceedings)
• RMB2500/person or US$350/person (CRIOCM Members will also pay RMB500 for annual membership
fee, paper included in Proceedings)
• RMB2000/person or US$320/person (attending symposium only)
Once full paper is accepted, registration form including fee payment instruction will be emailed to
symposium attendees.
CANCELLATION AND TRANSFER POLICY: If you are unable to attend, a substitute
participant/presenter is allowed at no extra cost, provided that written notice is given one month prior to the
event. Any refund owing to cancellation will not be entertained.
