Pastoral Cover and Celebration of Mass across Runcorn
While Fr. George is away every effort will be made to have one daily celebration of Mass
for the town each week day.
Parishioners are asked to arrange lifts for those without cars. For the time being
celebrations of Liturgy of the Word with Holy Communion are suspended.
Runcorn Foodbank
Many thanks for your contributions to the foodbank collection. During the month of
October the following amounts have been taken into the warehouse:

From Holy Spirit School: 154.20kg

Requiem Mass for the Fallen of World War One—Tuesday 11th November, 7pm
Please join us at St. Edward’s church as we pray for all those who died in the Great War.
Afterwards, refreshments will be provided in the hall by the brownies and guides.
Diocesan Youth Event
The next step on our journey to Krakow 2016 will be on Sunday 30 November at Sacred
Heart & Saint Peter Church in Baguley at 3.30pm (until 6.30pm). Open to all young people
in Year 10 and above. The event will include Mass. Please see the poster in church or

The Catenian Rosary Group is requesting unused Rosaries hidden away, which will be sent
to Australian Aboriginals, islands in the Pacific, and 3rd world countries in Africa. Please

Advent prayer books
If you would like to order ‘My Day by Day’ which has readings for each day of Advent
please sign the list. Price £1. Also Junior and Infant editions, with prayers and activities, will
be available, price 50p. We can also order ‘Walk With Me’ for Advent, with prayers and
commentary on the daily readings, price £1.
Training Day for Lectors and Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion
The next training day will be at St. Nicholas’ Catholic High School, Hartford on Saturday
22nd November 10.30am to 3.30pm. Please see poster for details. Fr. Peter would like to
encourage all Ministers to attend this event.

West Africa Ebola Crisis
A retiring collection will be held on the weekend of the
22nd/23rd November 2014. All money raised will be
donated to the CAFOD Ebola crisis appeal to support them
with their vital work in Liberia, Sierra Leone, and Guinea.

invited to send in your prayers and reflections for Advent & Christmas. Please have your

Missio—Red Box Collection
It’s time to collect from Parishioners who are Red Box Holders the content of the boxes.
Could we please ask these Parishioners to empty their boxes, count the contents, and
put the money into an envelope with their name and the amount collected. This will be
collected from the week commencing 10th November 2014. If however it is more
convenient for you to leave this money at church please hand it to Fr. Peter, Winnie
Wallace, or Christine Kennedy, but please make sure your name is on the envelope and
indicate that it is from your Red Boxes.

the faith through the Mill Hill Missions.

Seel Street Appeal
The Sisters of Charity, Liverpool have again requested our help in providing the
following items to give to the poor and homeless that they take care of at Christmas:
Toiletries (soap, shampoo, shaving foam, shower gel, toothpaste, toothbrush, razors)
Also, New Woollen Hats, Gloves, and Socks for Men and Women.
Boxes for donations will be placed on the floor at the back of church during November.
If you prefer to give a cash donation, which will be used to buy some of the above
items, please put it in an envelope and hand it to a member of the SVP Conference or
Fr. Peter. Many thanks for your continued support of the “annual Seel Street Appeal”.

Bereavement Group
A Mass for the Bereaved will be celebrated at 12 noon on Saturday 29th November at
St Edward’s church.
Ragheed Group
The Ragheed group are organising a days Pilgrimage in Liverpool on Saturday 13th
December. The tour will visit both Cathedrals, and will include tours, Advent prayers,
and a stop for lunch.
The day will end with a walk around the Christmas Market in Lord St. & Paradise St.
