The area’s oldest and largest fiber art event featuring an
exhibition of more than 150 pieces of quilting, knitting, weaving,

Wellness Places Closes After 14 Years
The Wellness Place board of directors announced
the closing of its facility on October 15 due to projected
financial sustainability concerns. Wellness Place, a nonprofit
cancer resource and education facility, has provided free
programs and services for 14 years to residents of the
Northwest suburbs who are struggling with cancer diagnosis.
The Wellness Place staff hosted an open house on Saturday,
September 20 to remember and honor the legacy of the

Walk On Hosts Annual Fundraiser
Walk On hosted its annual “Hoedown” fundraiser on
Sunday, September 21. Packed with pony rides, a petting
zoo, live music from Robert Cunningham, life-size balloon
creations from RC Juggles, kids games, and a silent auction,
guests also enjoyed shopping at vendors including, Whiskey
Grace Jewelry and Custom Candles by Kathleen. Saddlers

Institute, with a few stops along the way in New York and the White House. Paulson, class of 1964, answered questions from lifelong friend Jack Train, and the audience, which included more than 400 students and members of the community.
The event was sponsored by the Barrington 220 Educational Foundation as part
of its “Alumni Legends” series that brings BHS graduates back to Barrington to
reflect on their life and career success to inspire current students. Paulson offered
advice to current students saying, “There will always be a job where people need
to work with one another.”

community and surrounds to participate in a Holiday RAK (Random Act of Kindness) Challenge. From now until January
1, “RAK Sentiment Cards” will be provided for free at their new retail design store The Pink Geranium & Co. located at
