Entertainment will be starting at 10:45 with
the Ripon High School Jazz Ensemble. Dinner will be at 11:30 and consist of roast
turkey, mashed potatoes, dressing, green
bean casserole and of course pumpkin pie!

that our staff has adequate amount of prep

PICKETT HORSE CLUB
October 6th 2014 meeting was called to order by President Les Achterberg with the Pledge of Allegiance.
As mentioned in last months news letter that The Pickett Horse Club is planning a trip to The Dancing Horses
Theater in Delavan, WI. The date is November 15th. We will be leaving the Pickett Community Center at 9:00am Sharp.
The cost is $52.50 per adult and $42.50 per child 12 years and younger. Included with this cost is the Dancing Horses
show, Exotic Bird Show, back stage pass to meet the trainers and the horses and motor coach. If interested please contact
Les Achterberg @ 920.748.3230 or Sharon Oliver @ 920.589.2794 as there are seats still available. This is a show not to
miss!!! Food is available for purchase at the concession area at the theatre. Hot dogs, hamburgers, steak sandwich, pizza
and chips plus more. Beverages are also available for purchase such as beer, wine, soda and water.
Mark your calendars to come and join The Pickett Horse Club on Sunday November 9th 2014 as we are the
“Hosts” for the Pickett Community Country Breakfast. We begin serving at 9 am until noon. Help the Pickett Horse
Club have a successful attendance and set a high bar for the rest of the organizations to try and beat through out the upcoming year. It’s all in good fun and a great way to rub elbows with your neighbors. We’ll see you there!
Our Next meeting will be held right after the country breakfast on November 9th 2014 and 1 pm.
Our November birthdays will include Bob Silloway on the 4th and Jim Crook on the 8th Happy Birthday to you both!

The Latest from the Lions
Lomira Auction was on Sat., Oct. 11. Steve P. was
in charge of organizing the event.
Lions Zone Meeting was Oct. 22 at Lions’ Park in
Van Dyne. Cocktails at 6 pm and dinner at 7.
Lions District Conference will be held Nov. 14 and
15 at the Oshkosh Convention Center.
Deer Hides will again be collected this year, with
drop-off at Jaspers. Money raised supports the Lions
Camp.

Fall picnic was held at the October 6
meeting. Many thanks to Bruce and Patty
Peppler for all the planning and cooking!
Honey Sales for the year have raised
$1570.
Highway Clean-Up will be rescheduled,
due to weather the morning of the 18th.
