Harvest Thanksgiving
to the Energizers
May the Lord of all Blessings bestow his benediction on
Rusty Bang and all the Energizer Saints who gathered
for us TONS of food with their Trick or Treat project.
You truly did a great, great job! Our pantry is
looking much better. This past week the amount of
people that came to us for food was unusually high.
Your labor of love will go far to serve all our
neighbors!
Distribution of Food Boxes at the Fairgrounds:
November 24th and 25th.

to the parishioners and ladies of the CCW who baked
the delicious cookies for the Blood Drive. We would
like to give a special thank you to Patty Blazek,
Monique Kilroy and all the volunteers for their hard
work to make this a successful Blood Drive.
Council of Catholic Women
CCW wants to extend a HUGE thank you to the Holy
Apostles community of faith. The generosity of the
bakers, the workers and the buyers made our bake
sale during the Ministry Fair a tremendous success. We
raised over $1100 and these proceeds, and those of
our upcoming spring bake sale, will fund the CCW
college scholarship for a graduating senior boy or girl
of Holy Apostles parish beginning in May 2015. Thank
You, Thank You, Thank You!

Factors with unclear effect on risk of
getting Pancreatic Cancer
Diet: Some studies linked pancreatic cancer and diets
that include a lot of red meat, pork, and processed
meat (such as sausage and bacon). Others have found
that diets high in fruits and vegetables may help
reduce the risk of pancreatic cancer. But not all studies
have found such links, and the exact role of diet in
relation to pancreatic cancer is still being studied.
Physical inactivity
Some research has suggested that lack of physical
activity might increase pancreatic cancer risk. But not
all studies have found this.
Coffee: Some older studies have suggested that
drinking coffee might increase the risk of pancreatic
cancer, but more recent studies have not confirmed this.
Alcohol: Some studies have shown a link between
heavy alcohol intake and pancreatic cancer. This link is
still not certain, but heavy alcohol use can lead to
conditions such as chronic pancreatitis and cirrhosis,
which are known to increase pancreatic cancer risk.

The Flu Season is Here
Hand washing is an important step in preventing the
spread of germs among parishioners. Please lather
hands for a full 20 seconds before rinsing, each time
you use the restrooms. If you are not feeling well,
running a temperature, or have a child who is not
feeling well, please consider staying home. Cover your
cough with the inside of your elbow, and use hand
sanitizer when washing your hands is not possible.
Please know that your awareness and consideration of
others is appreciated by all. Let’s stop the spread of
the Flu and illnesses that interrupt our lives.

Human Trafficking:
A Local Issue
In 2011, two eleven year old girls from
Pocatello were coaxed via the internet to
ride a bus to California to meet
“boyfriends who live in Hollywood.”
Thankfully parents were alerted. In this

present “Internet Porn” and how that is
fueling human trafficking in our state and
nation. Merikay Jost and Mari Artalejo
will hold general knowledge presentation
on the different forms of human
trafficking and how we as individuals
participate in its thriving continuation. A
detective with the GANGS Unit will
discuss how sex trafficking is occurring in
our area and what is being done to help
law enforcement. The meeting will be on
Wednesdays, 6:30-8pm, Nov. 5, 12 and
19 at The Cathedral of the Rockies, 717
N. 11th. For more information, contact
