We are proud to wear the TE Columbia and Navy Blue. The goal of 2015 is to improve while still focusing on every individual player. We plan to continue to make a substantial impact on the local volleyball scene. Our Coaches: The backbone of our organization will still and always be our coaching staff. Our 2015 staff will be the best ever. Our coaches collaborate to get the most out of every team in the club. We believe that the club is successful when all of our teams are successful. Our Facilities: We have spent time and money rebuilding our indoor and outdoor facilities. Last year, more indoor courts were added to provide for more practice time, and our beach volleyball facility was doubled in size. This season an additional beach court was added. To be the best volleyball club in Tampa, first-rate facilities are essential. Our partnership with the Tampa Bay Baptist Conference Center makes that possible. This is our club Handbook for the 2015 season. Thank you for your interest in joining our volleyball family. All Staff are certified through USA Volleyball 4 Club Policies Academic Policy: Tampa Elite coaches take pride in working with great STUDENT-athletes. Academics are first, and there is nothing more important to a young person’s future than their education. Our players are expected to perform first in the classroom and then on the court. Refund Policy: Please understand that by taking a spot on a Tampa Elite Club Team another player was denied entry. Therefore, there is absolutely no refund of club fees. All disputes will be considered by the Tampa Elite Director. All decisions are final. Transfer Policy: Tampa Elite will not grant transfers after 11/1/14. Please be fully committed to an organization (ours or another) before signing the USAV Junior Commitment Form. Dispute Policy: If there are any disputes, for any reason, here are the steps that need to be taken: First Step: Player must first approach coach about the matter. Second Step: If the dispute was not resolved, parent must schedule a meeting where the player, parent, coach and director are present. o The player MUST be present for any meetings to occur. All decisions will be made by the Tampa Elite Director, and are final and conclusive. These meetings will NEVER take place at a tournament site. They will only be held before or after practices. Attendance Policy: We expect all Tampa Elite players to attend mandatory practices and tournaments. The best way to grow as a young student athlete and teammate is to be at practice learning from our coaches. A player’s Head coach will determine any penalties for missed practices/games. 5 Club Policies Continued 24 Hour Rule: Parents/Players cannot approach a coach or director with a dispute 24 hours BEFORE, AFTER, or DURING a tournament. Please refer back to the dispute policy for proper steps. If a coach or director feels that they were treated unfairly by a parent with a concern, the director has the power to sit the player for a game(s) during that tournament. This alleviates confrontation during the tournaments when the coaches and director are busy working with the players. Participation Policy: If your daughter is a part of Tampa Elite Volleyball for the 2014/2015 season, she cannot play for any other team in USA or AAU Volleyball until after the last day of AAU Nationals, 2015. Parents are responsible for all fees outlined in the club Handbook for the 2014/2015 club season. Parents are responsible for the entire club fee once an agreement is signed with no exceptions, regardless of how much of the season the athlete plays, or if she leaves the club for any reason. Parents are also responsible for all club fees if the player is dismissed from the Tampa Elite Volleyball program for conduct violations. Parents are responsible for transportation to all practices and tournaments for the player. They must accompany a player on all overnight tournaments that require hotel stays, no matter of the player’s age. Parents are responsible for their daughter’s conduct in hotels. Playing time in tournaments is at the discretion of Tampa Elite coaches and is NOT guaranteed. Parents can choose any Tampa Elite payment plan. If they are not on a payment schedule, Tampa Elite Athletics is entitled to receive the entire contract balance due, as liquidated damages, if payment is more than 14 days late. In this event, a parent agrees to pay, over and above any liabilities, reasonable collection fees, attorney fees, and court costs. 6 Parent/Player Code of Conduct 1. Playing time is earned by discretion of the Tampa Elite coaching staff. 2. Practices and tournaments are MANDATORY. If a player needs to be excused from a practice or tournament for a family, school or religious conflict, they must inform the coach a week or more in advance when possible. 3. All players and spectators are to represent Tampa Elite in the most positive way possible. We do not tolerate negativity towards our players, parents, coaches, or directors from anyone. We expect everyone in the Tampa Elite family to show good sportsmanship AT ALL TIMES. 4. Spectators are asked to avoid communicating with referees. This is the job of the Floor Captain and the Head Coach. 5. Any player whose account is delinquent will be withheld from practice and tournament play. 6. Players are to support other Tampa Elite teams at tournaments and cannot leave a tournament until dismissed by THEIR HEAD COACH. 7. Officiating duty will be equal among all players. 8. Parents are responsible for all actions by players off the court during travel. Players and parents will not participate in any immoral or illegal conduct. Parents are responsible for all player activities in hotels. 9. Parents and players will respect the rules of the Tampa Bay Baptist Conference Center. Social Media: Players must understand that they represent themselves, their families and Tampa Elite Volleyball at all times. Players will not use social media sites to poorly reflect Tampa Elite or comment on any other Club Volleyball program. Players understand that they will be held responsible for what they post on social media sites. Punishment is up to the discretion of the coach and director. Please note that in the case of a player being dismissed for any of the above violations, all money collected will be non-refundable. 7 2015 Programs & Payments Tampa Elite Offers 3 levels of Teams: Columbia Teams: Price $3,000 Our Columbia level teams practice 2-3 times a week (fluctuates during travel weeks) and compete in 8 or more tournaments, including 2 or more qualifiers.
