Get a head start on burning off the Thanksgiving calories with a pre‐holiday walk‐on tennis weekend Nov. 21‐23! Bring your friends and come down to Towpath 6‐9 p.m. Friday, 2‐8 p.m. Satur‐
day, and 8 a.m.‐8 p.m. Sunday. The rate is $11/singles and $6.50/
doubles per person per hour with NO GUEST FEES! Courts are walk‐on only with no reservations, and are first‐come, first‐served. Players who wish to make regular reservations pay regular price. There are no other special events scheduled at Towpath that night, so the courts are wide open! So come on down with your favorite players for a night of tennis and fun! Junior Match Play

Now that the high school girls ten‐
nis season is complete, Towpath’s Junior Match Play League is a perfect opportu‐
nity for singles and doubles match play 5
‐7 p.m. Wednesdays or 1‐3 p.m. Sun‐
days. Boys and girls can improve their match skills and continue to work on their games in the winter. The cost is $31 but members can play for $25. We are always looking for more players, and guests are welcome. If you would like to register for Wednes‐

Thanksgiving Tournament!
Towpath will host the 34th annual Thanksgiv‐
ing Tournament Nov. 26‐30. The tournament is for boys and girls 10‐18s. The cost is $62.85/player. Enter online by visiting www.usta.com. You must be a USTA member to enter. Players must register by the Nov. 20 deadline. The Tournament ID for 12‐18s is #856424714. The Tournament ID for 10 & under is #850047014. No late entries will be accepted. All participants will receive a t‐shirt. Play will begin after 4 p.m. on Wednesday. Any play on Thanksgiving Day will start no later than noon. Aleman named 2014 Herb
Nold Volunteer of the Year
Towpath owner, Dallas Ale‐
man, is the 2014 recipient of the Herb Nold Volunteer of the Year Award! This award is given to the individual who has been the most dedicated and worked tirelessly to grow tennis within the USTA Northeastern Ohio District. Dallas was honored at the NEOTA annual meeting on Nov. 2. He was a long‐time member of the board, formed the Northeast Ohio Indoor Tennis Association, is a current Midwest sub‐
committee chair for adult recrea‐

Play for the Cure donates to
American Cancer Society
Towpath hosted the 10th annual Play for the Cure Adult Doubles Round Robin Saturday, Oct. 18 as a fundraiser to help support the fight against breast cancer. A portion of each entry fee and proceeds from a silent auction and popcorn fundraiser were donated to The American Cancer Society. The event raised over $700 for the cure. Silent auction items included lessons with the pros, a racquet, tennis bags, apparel, accessories and more. Players that participated include Barry Alvord, Ehsan Atefi, Sarah Cashman, Mehdei Kafaeikivi, Kendra Lavell, Jackie Metz, Kathy Neag, John Ragner, Maureen Sayegh, Ethan Shajie, and Suzzette Shephard. Thanks to all who participated to make this a special event for a great cause! This brings our grand total from 10 years to over $12,000!! Great job everyone!!

fitness schedule
We’ve heard your feedback! Juniors will now have their own fitness hour with Tennis Training from 6‐7 p.m. Thursdays with Kyle Otto. This program will be geared towards improving the footwork, speed, agility and endurance of competitive players on the court. The clinic cost is $21 but only $15 for mem‐
bers. Secondly, we are bringing back an evening Cardio Tennis 7‐8 p.m. Thurs‐
days. This class will not include the TRX program. The cost is $21 but only $13 for members. TRX Cardio Tennis will still be of‐
fered 9‐10 a.m. Thursdays. Now we have all the bases covered with something for juniors and adults, and programs for people who play tennis to get fit, and those that want to get fit for better ten‐
