EVENT STAFF POSITION INFORMATION
Job Description
Ticket Takers, Ushers, Parking & Security:
 Scan in/out patron tickets and credentials
 Assist patrons in finding seats, settle seating disputes and solve other customer concerns
 Direct patrons to restrooms, concession stands, ATM’s and telephones
 Examine tickets or passes to verify authenticity, using criteria such as color and date issued
 Greet patrons attending entertainment events
 Provide assistance with patrons’ special needs, such as helping those with wheelchairs
 Refuse admittance to disorderly patrons or persons without tickets or passes
 Search for lost articles or parents of lost children
 Verify credentials of patrons desiring entrance into press-box, permit only authorized persons to enter
 Guide patrons to exits or provide other instructions or assistance in case of emergency
 Maintain order and insure adherence to stadium policies
 Manage inbound and outbound traffic flows
 Provide security checks at our facilities (prohibited items check list)
 Additional responsibilities as assigned
Football Event Staff Position Requirements:
All Positions:

Report a minimum of 2 hours prior to kickoff (this will vary depending on your position)

Pay  $8.25/hr Event Staff & $9.25/hr Parking Staff
Ticket Takers/Security

Required to work PRE-GAME, HALF-TIME, AND ONE RANDOMLY ASSIGNED QUARTER

Approximate time worked: 3.5 – 4 hours

Pay: 4 hours; $33 ($8.25/hr) & $37 ($9.25/hr) before taxes
Ushers/Parking

Required to work PRE-GAME, HALF-TIME, AND ALL QUARTERS

Approximate time worked: 6-7 hours

Pay: 6-7.5 hours; $49.5-$61.88 ($8.25/hr) & $55.5-$69.38 ($9.25/hr) before taxes
Nebraska Event Staff Program (approximate number of home events we have event staff working):

Fall: 40 (Football, Soccer, Volleyball)

Winter: 80 (M/W Basketball, M/W Gymnastics, Swimming/Diving, Indoor Track, Wrestling)

Spring: 70 (Baseball, Softball, Outdoor Track)

Summer: 50 (Lincoln Saltdogs Baseball Team)

NSAA Championships: Football, Volleyball, M/W Basketball, Swimming/Diving, Baseball

Special Events: Post season Big Ten and NCAA events will vary year to year (normally 1-4 sports)

University Commencement: Fall & Spring

Other Home Sporting Events As Necessary

positions, interest generated, years of service, and performance evaluation. Some jobs require lifting,
extensive walking or standing.
