Over the last several weeks I have preached on “Becoming TheBest-Version of-Yourself.” The signs of being The-Best-Version of-Yourself
are being a person of prayer, being a person who studies our faith, being
a generous person and a person who evangelizes; that is shares our faith
with others.

Parish Office Hours
Mon-Thurs 9:30am – 4:30pm
~
During our Annual Stewardship Renewal we are asking all
parishioners to make a commitment to our parish with their Time (Prayer)
Talent (gifts and skills for service) and Treasure (generosity to parish
expenses). I am asking all our parish households to make a commitment
to our Parish just as you make commitments to your family relationships.
After all we are a parish family and it takes every one of us to work
together to be the parish God is calling us to be.
Have you passed in your commitment card? Can we count on
you? Are you committed to Sacred Heart Parish? Help Sacred Heart to
continue to be the vibrant, successful parish that God has called us to
be.

Be Aware of the opportunities… that exist with the
people in your life to express generosity.
Recognize the benefits. You reap what you sow. By
acting toward others with the spirit of generosity, you
will make a positive impression, so that they will most
likely be motivated to respond in kind.
Be proud of your generous spirit.
Teach it. Make a point to teach Be Generous of
Spirit to others, particularly to your children.
Appreciate others’ generosity.

for the Sacred Heart Christmas Fair at the Fr. Reilley Parish Center
10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Join us again this year for Gourmet Food, Fun, Crafts,
Games, Raffles, and of course…Kid’s Corner!
Calling all Elves! The Sacred Heart Church Christmas Fair Committee
needs everyone’s help again this year! Through the generous
donations of many parishioners and local merchants, last year’s fair
was a great success both for the holiday fun it brought to the
community and for the financial support it brought to our parish. We
hope to make this year’s fair even more successful, but we
desperately need your help.
How you can help….Can you volunteer your time or do you have a
teen who can donate their time the day of the fair to set up or clean
up? Can you or your company commit to making a monetary
donation to our cash raffle? Can you or your employer donate a gift
of service such as lawn care, car care, hair or nail care for one of our
hourly raffle prizes? Can you or your family offer to donate a gift card
or gift certificate to a local merchant or restaurant for a raffle prize?
Can you commit to donating a new craft kit or new game for a boy
or girl for a raffle prize? Can you offer to bake some treats to sell at
our bake sale?
Let us know as soon as you can…We need donations of all kinds!
Right now we just need commitments from parishioners and/or local
merchants to donate their time, monetary and gift support to our
holiday raffle. If you wish to make a commitment to donate, please
call Christine Gaffney at 508-473-3035 or Sue Maconochie at 508-6342892 and let us know how you can help. ALL monetary, gift or service
donations must be received no later than Saturday, Nov. 15th. Please
note: Unfortunately this year, we cannot accept any used gift items.
Food donations will not be required however, some beverage and
paper product items will be needed. Watch the bulletin each week
for the “featured” item than can be dropped off at the parish office
Monday through Friday during business hours.
Thank you for your help!

“More Blessings Than I Ever Expected!”
Here’s what one Stephen Minister has to say about Stephen Ministry:
“At first I wasn’t sure about all this caregiving stuff. I mean,
didn’t I love others enough already? Then I finished my Stephen
Ministry training and met with the person for whom I provided care.
Now I know what Christian love is all about! I didn’t expect the
wonderful gifts of love and friendship that God gave me through my
caring relationship. What a wonderful ministry this is!”
Do you have gifts for caring, encouragement, and listening? If so,
please prayerfully consider becoming a Stephen Minister. Sacred
Heart Hopedale will be training another class of Stephen Ministers
soon so please don’t miss this opportunity!
Stephen Ministers provide emotional and spiritual support and care
to people who are going through a difficult time, such as divorce,
grief, hospitalization, unemployment, terminal illness, relocation,
chronic illness, or loneliness. To find out more about becoming
a Stephen Minister, talk with Fr. Bill (508) 473-1000, or one of our
Stephen Leaders: Carol Kilcourse (508) 381-3304,
Jean Vendetti (508) 473-4267,or Ken Konicki (508) 826-6096.
