Salvation Testimony
In 1978, when BACS was known as
First Baptist Christian School of
League City and the team mascot was a
Burro, I entered as a high school freshman. My knowledge of Christianity
consisted of attending church on Easter
and Christmas Eve, and my interest in
the things of God was nonexistent.
After a couple of months, my teacher,
Ricky Rigsby, pulled me aside and told
me that he was praying for me. I remember wondering why he
was praying for me. A very short time later, a traveling
evangelist came to the school and asked if we knew where we
would go if we died at that moment. I responded that I did not
know. I was the only one who didn’t. I asked Jesus Christ to
come into my life and He came. He completely transformed
me, as He says, “into a new creation.” Since that moment, I
have never been the same. I praise the Lord for placing such a
godly, selfless, servant of a teacher in my life to lead me to
Him. That teacher meant so much to me that he was the one
who performed my wedding ceremony seven years later. “He
who the Son sets free is free indeed.” John 8:36

Stories…we hear them every day. Some are sad, some are triumphant, some provide humor, but some
give us motivation and lend fragments of insight. I was recently sitting in the stands at a home
basketball game when a parent said, “I was talking about serious matters when my child said, ‘mom,
you need to rest in the Lord.’” We both smiled and laughed at the fact that the child saying this was a
kindergarten student. The conversation continued to explain that the child actually knew what the
phrase meant as he had heard both the saying and the meaning in class at school.
As parents, we constantly evaluate everything - is this the right place to shop, live, get gas, eat, attend
church, attend school, hunt, fish, drive, park, and on and on and on. As fast as our society moves, our
evaluations sometimes become reactions based on an isolated experience or singular factor rather than
a seriously contemplated decision supported by a comprehensive, long-term perspective. This
dilemma is applicable to most anything in our lives. Sadly, even a family’s dedication to Kingdom
education can fall victim to this evaluation process.
We can’t make all the decisions for our children. However, we can make decisions to help our
children like providing a Kingdom education for them. As parents, we are trying to steward a little (or
recently little) person who happens to be an eternal being. The odds of doing this are overwhelmingly
against us as research would indicate. Society can invasively lead to corruption, and the stakes of life
are eternal. I encourage you to take every chance you can to “rest in the Lord.”
Generationally focused,
Jason Nave
Head of School
“He only is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be shaken. On God rests my salvation
and my glory; my mighty rock, my refuge is God. Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your
heart before him; God is a refuge for us.” -Psalm 62:6-8

Grandparent’s Day…
th
We have started a new tradition here at Bay Area Christian School - the annual 6 grade signature trip to Pine Cove, Institute for
Wilderness Studies. Sixth grade students, their teachers, and chaperones just returned from their first ever school trip of this nature.
The goals of our trip were to be encouraged and strengthened as Christ-followers, to build life-long friendships, to promote positive
relationships, and to extend the scientific concepts learned in the classroom. I believe all these goals were accomplished. If you see
a 6th grade student, ask them about their experience. (See pictures on last page of Newsletter.)
On Friday, November. 21, BACS will honor our
grandparents with our annual Grandparent’s Day
Celebration!
At this time of year, we are gearing up for our annual Grandparent’s Day, Thanksgiving Food Drive, Spelling Bee, and Christmas

Counselor’s Corner
Congratulations to all of the Jr. High students who made honor roll! We will go to
Main Event on Wednesday, November 12th for the honor roll field trip. Keep up the
good work as we close out the first semester. As we approach the Thanksgiving
holiday, let’s make sure we take time to thank the LORD for all the blessings that He
has given to us. I am truly thankful to serve here at Bay Area Christian School! As I
look back at the first twelve weeks in school, I'm amazed at the growth of some of our
students both spiritually and academically. Thank you for entrusting us with your
child’s education.
Upcoming SAT Dates: Test date, Dec. 6
(late registration deadline is Nov.24).
Upcoming ACT Dates: Test date, Dec 13
(late registration deadline is Nov. 21).
High School News
Congratulations to the 78 students who made honor roll under the new criteria. God
was good to hold off the rain while they enjoyed the Kemah Boardwalk during the
day with no crowds!
I am assembling the junior and senior class officers to be our prom committee, and
many senior moms have signed up to be on the decorating committee. Prom will be
April 25th at Landry’s 2nd floor in Kemah. We hope all juniors and seniors plan to
attend whether you have a date or not! We want all our upperclassmen to come and
have a good time together! More information will come later.
If you are planning a college visit, this semester is the time to do it so absences won’t
count against you for exams next semester. If you need to visit in the spring it would
be wise to look at the calendar and choose dates when we are out of school. I thank
God for all our students – we really do have good kids. Thank you parents for supporting our teachers and school guidelines as we try to hold the bar high on behavior
and academic expectations. Growing and stretching isn’t always comfortable, but it
is profitable. Blessings to you!
Fine Arts News
Preschool started the month off with “silly
sock day.” It was a fun day to show off
our silly socks, while thanking God for
our feet and wiggly toes.
BACS Choirs have been working hard and
are having success! One of our Resound
members, Taylor Davis, auditioned for and
made the TPSMEA All-State Choir. The AllState process is very competitive. Auditions
were received from across the state, and
Taylor's audition was ranked among the top,
earning her a spot in the choir.
All fall parties will be in the classrooms
on Thursday, Nov. 20 @ 11:00 a.m..
There will be a sing-a-long in the worship
center starting at 10:25 a.m.. All parents
are welcome to join us. Parents and all
visitors must sign in by the preschool
office and get a visitor’s sticker.
During the month of November, the
Weekday Preschool will be collecting
pancake mix & syrup. All donations will
be given to Lighthouse Christian
Ministries, a local non-denominational
Christian outreach ministry.
It’s a great day to be a Bronco Colt!

Also, five students from Freedom Sound were
selected to be members of the state-wide
Honor Choir. BACS students worked hard
to rise to the top of a pool of about 80 applicants, and two of our students also ranked in
the top 10 overall. The Honor Choir students
from BACS are Bailey Plummer, Olivia
Simmons, Thomas Rabalais, Jacob Woodson, and Kason Collins. If you see these
students, congratulate them for their hard
work!
Junior High Band will participate in the

ROBOTICS
The 2014 Bronco Bots Robotics teams
competed in their first tournament of the
year this past Saturday in Sugarland
competing against 22 other teams. After
months of design, construction, operation,
and application work with the EV3 and
NXT robots, both teams won an
advancement to the Houston competition
in December. The RED team (grades 3-5)
won a Gold Ticket to advance to the next
level with a first place win with their project. The BLUE team (grades 6-8) won a
Gold Ticket coming in third place for the
robot game. Congratulations to both
teams for their hours of hard work! Thank
you to the MANY Bronco Bot parents
who have volunteered countless hours to
prepare the team!
Dear Bronco Nation,
The Bronco Bandwagon is still running fast and furious, picking up steam with each passing VICTORY! Our
fall teams are passing the wheels to our winter teams and they are primed and ready to go at warp speed.
Volleyball: The Lady Bronco Volleyball team completed another successful season toped with a 7th consecutive DISTRICT CHAMPIONSHIP. The Lady Broncos finished the season with a record of 32-7-2. Though the season finished
with an Area round loss to Boerne Geneva School, the future still looks bright with the emergence of outstanding players
from the Jr. Varsity and JH teams. The JV team did not loose a district game and our JH team was declared Conference
Champions after having the best record during the regular season.
Football: The Broncos are prepared to make a playoff run after resounding VICTORIES over Magnolia Legacy (59-8)
and Bryan St. Joseph (72-16). The Broncos are 8-1 on the season and will host John Paul II of Schertz on Friday November 14th to open the playoffs. The JV Broncos finished with a 3-1 season record. In their final game they easily handled
Cypress Christian by a margin of 42-12. The JH Football team showed us a glimpse into the future by posting the most
wins in recent JH Football history. The JH Broncos finished with 6 wins, one loss and one tie.
Winter Sports are starting both indoors (Basketball) and outdoors (Soccer). Teams will look to build on strong finishes
from last year and create new excitement for the coming new year.
Lady Bronco Basketball opened its campaign with 68-16 win over Pasadena First Baptist. The Lady Broncos are being
led this year by new coach Ronnie Bush. The Lady Broncos will be looking for a 6th district title in 7 years. They will be
in action at home again on November 14th. Our JH Basketball season will tip off next week culminating the week at the
Ft. Bend Christian Tournament. Please come out and support.
Hurry and reserve your seat on the Bronco Bandwagon
while there’s still room.
