Obama and Putin are odd couple at Beijing summit

BEIJING (Reuters) - A few brief encounters between Barack Obama and Vladimir Putin during an
Asia-Pacific summit in China on Tuesday spoke volumes about the chilly state of relations between
the United States and Russia.
With the two men crossing paths twice this week, first in Beijing and later at a G20 summit in
Brisbane, Australia, there was little chance they could avoid interacting on the international stage –
and with the eyes of the world press and fellow leaders upon them.
Obama and Putin have never had anything close to personal chemistry, and with tensions high
especially over Russia’s role in the conflict in Ukraine, there was little warmth on display in their
contacts at the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum.
When the summit opened in a sprawling convention centre at a lake outside Beijing, Chinese
President Xi Jinping walked in with Obama and Putin, both unsmiling, on either side of him.
"It's beautiful, isn't it?" Putin was overheard saying in English in Obama’s general direction, referring
to the ornate conference room.
"Yes," Obama replied, coldly, according to journalists who witnessed the scene.
The three leaders stopped at Xi’s seat at the table. Putin reached out and clapped Obama on the
shoulder. Obama barely responded. The two then took their seat to Xi’s left and right.
Later, Obama and Putin were spotted in businesslike conversation, trailed by a translator, as they
entered a hall for the summit "family photo."
"On three occasions throughout the day, for a total of approximately 15-20 minutes, President Obama
had an opportunity to speak with President Putin," said White House spokeswoman Bernadette
Meehan. "Their conversations covered Iran, Syria, and Ukraine."
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed the talks had taken place but also gave no details.
The two leaders would seem to have much to discuss but little chance of finding common ground. In
addition to Ukraine, they are deeply at odds over Russia's backing for Syrian President Bashar alAssad.
Communicating mostly by telephone over the past year, their contacts have been described as
frustratingly tense as relations between Washington and Moscow have fallen to a post-Cold War low.
Obama has insisted that Russia stop supporting pro-Russian separatists in eastern Ukraine while
Putin has dismissed the sanctions that the United States and the European Union have slapped on
Moscow as counterproductive.
Obama's deputy national security adviser, Ben Rhodes, told reporters in Beijing on Tuesday that any
encounter would be a chance for Obama to remind the Russian leader of his promise to help resolve
the Ukraine crisis peacefully.
"President Putin knows full well where we stand," Rhodes said.
The two leaders last held brief informal talks on the sidelines of D-Day anniversary celebrations in
Normandy, France in June.
Meanwhile, scrutinising body language between the two has become something of a pastime in
diplomatic circles.
The contrast in their personal styles, Putin brash and macho, Obama more professorial and
sometimes self-conscious, was also on display at APEC.
At a tree-planting ceremony at the summit venue, Putin swaggered up, chest out, and shovelled mud
onto the roots of a partially-planted tree.
Obama walked up with his hands clasped behind his back, picked up the shovel, grinning slightly, and
piled mud on his tree, according to a pool report of the event.
When a Spanish-language camera crew called for his attention, Obama responded with "Hey,
hombre" and waved.

Russia is a bigger problem than Isis for Obama

This weekend America announced that it was sending more troops to Iraq, Russia allegedly sent
more troops into Ukraine and President Barack Obama set off for Beijing.
Ask policy makers in Washington which of these different parts of the world should be America’s top
priority and the first response is usually a variant of – “We’ve got to be able to chew gum and walk at
the same time.” Press on, and the replies get more interesting.
Broadly speaking, the Washington consensus seems to be that, of the two immediate crises, the one
in the Middle East is more urgent than the one in Ukraine. One US national security official, whose
responsibilities include both Russia and the Middle East, looked incredulous when I asked him, last
week, which was the more important: “The Middle East, by far,” he replied.
The argument for prioritising the Middle East is threefold. First, there is an actual war going on, with
the US involved in daily bombing raids – landing “warheads on foreheads”, in the disconcertingly
jaunty phrase used in the Pentagon. Second, if national security is defined as protecting civilian
populations from harm, the Americans see a much more immediate threat from jihadist terrorism than
from Russia. Third, the Americans believe an entire regional order is unravelling in the Middle
East and that the reordering could take decades. By contrast, the order in Europe is only fraying at the
edges.
Some even worry that America’s preoccupation with Russia distracted its attention from Iraq and
Syria, at a vital time. One official muses: “I do wonder whether historians will record that, in the spring
of 2014, we were too focused on Ukraine, just as [Isis] was grabbing control of huge swaths of
territory.”
The phenomenon of policy makers looking in the wrong direction is certainly not unknown in history.
In the month before the outbreak of the first world war, 100 years ago, the British government spent
far more time discussing the prospect of civil conflict in Ireland than the threat of war in Europe.
But for those who worry most about Vladimir Putin’s Russia, it is the Middle East that is the dangerous
distraction. The “Russia first” crowd is stronger in Warsaw and Berlin than in Washington. It worries
that the US has been drawn back into the “war on terror” and the conflicts of the Middle East, just as
the dangers in Europe are mounting.
Barack Obama, the US president, promised in a televised address to destroy Isis, the self-proclaimed
Islamist state in Iraq. Does that mean another western war in the Middle East is under way? Gideon
Rachman puts the question to Roula Khalaf, FT foreign editor, James Blitz, former security editor, and
David Gardner, FT correspondent in Beirut.
According to this analysis, the US has still not recognised the radicalism of the challenge posed by
Russia. The annexation of Crimea and incursions into eastern Ukraine are, it is feared, just the start.
At some point, Russia is likely to threaten more of Ukraine, or even the Baltic states. The very fact
that America has ruled out military action over Ukraine – which makes the crisis seem less urgent in
Washington – has inadvertently raised the stakes. As one senior European diplomat puts it: “Putin
knows that he can always escalate to places we won’t go.”
The darkest scenarios, being discussed behind closed doors, include Russian escalation up to and
including the use of tactical nuclear weapons. If that were to happen it would, of course, be the
biggest international security crisis in decades – far more significant and dangerous than another
round in the 25 years of fighting in Iraq.
Most experts still dismiss the nuclear scenarios as far-fetched. It is more common to worry that Mr
Putin may launch an all-out conventional war in Ukraine – or encourage uprisings by Russianspeakers in the Baltic states, which are members of Nato. If Russia then intervened in the Baltic
states and Nato did not respond, the Kremlin would have achieved the huge prize of demonstrating
that the western military alliance is a paper tiger.
Some hope that the growing pressure on the Russian economy and the rouble might dissuade the
Kremlin from escalation. But an economic crisis could also make Russian behaviour more
unpredictable and reckless.
Amid all this angst, President Obama has set off for a summit in China. For believers in America’s
“pivot to Asia” it remains true that – over the longer term – the biggest challenge to US power is still a
rising China, rather than a declining Russia or a disintegrating Middle East. They worry that the more
the US gets sucked into the crises of the moment, the easier it will be for China to achieve primacy in
East Asia – the region that is increasingly the core of the global economy.
The Obama administration is determined that this will not happen, and is shifting US military
resources so that in future, 60 per cent of the American navy will be based in the Pacific.
It will be up to historians to decide whether the Obama administration got its strategic priorities right,
or whether it charged off in the wrong direction at a crucial moment.
My own instinct is that Russia is now the most important challenge. The rise of China is hugely
significant but, for the moment, it feels like a long-term process – without any immediate risk of conflict
with the US.
Failing states in the Middle East and the risk of terrorism are dangers that, sadly, now feel almost
normal. But an angry, nuclear-armed Russia, intent on challenging US power, poses risks that we are
only beginning to understand. Peace in Europe may depend on Washington striking exactly the right
balance between deterrence and diplomacy.

ISIS wants to introduce its own currency and plans to bring back solid gold and silver dinar coins, it has emerged.
The Middle East terror group apparently wants to introduce its own Islamic currency as part of its attempts to solidify
its makeshift caliphate.
Militants are said to want to bring back the original dinar, which is an ancient currency from early Islam, and religious
figures in Mosul and Iraq’s Nineveh province have apparently announced its return in mosques.

The currency known as the dinar, which once consisted purely of gold and silver coins, is today used by a variety of
countries, but the coins are created from different materials to the originals.
However, the jihadi group is understood to be planning to return to the original gold and silver coins, which were first
introduced during the Caliphate of Uthman in 634 CE.
The original Islamic dinar was a gold coin which was the weight of gold equivalent to 4.3 grams. Its silver counterpart,
known as the Islamic dirham, was a silver coin equal in weight to 3 grams of silver.
Both were round in shape and one side of the coin was typically stamped with an Islamic message, while the other
side featured the date of minting and the country’s ruler.

Typically, one side of the coin was stamped with an Islamic message, while the other side featured the date of minting

While ISIS has yet to confirm the introduction of its currency, social media is awash with claims that leading religious
figures announced the plans during recent prayers in Mosul and Nineveh province.
It is believed the terror outfit wants to use the independent currency in areas it controls as part of its war on the West.
The currency, which could be introduced within the next few weeks, will involve changing from regular dinars and Lira
to golden dinars and silver dirhams.
Last month, it emerged that ISIS, which also goes by the name Islamic State, is raking in money at a remarkable rate
- earning about $1million a day from black market oil sales alone.
The group extracts oil from territory captured across Syria and Iraq, and sells it to smugglers.
David Cohen, who leads the Treasury Department's effort to undermine the Islamic State's finances, said the
extremists also get several million dollars a month from wealthy donors, extortion rackets and other criminal activities,
such as robbing banks.
In addition, he said the group has taken in at least $20million in ransom payments this year from kidnappings.
Mr Cohen said ISIS, which is led by Iraqi Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi,obtains the vast majority of its revenues through local
criminal and terrorist activities.
Palestinian leader accuses Israel of religious war
Palestinian leader accuses Israel of religious warNov 11, 9:46 AM (ET)By MOHAMMED DARAGHMEH and
PETER ENAV
RAMALLAH, West Bank (AP) — The Palestinian president on Tuesday accused Israel of provoking a "religious war"
as new violence between the sides broke out in the West Bank, leaving a Palestinian man dead, amid mounting
concerns that the long-running conflict is entering a new and dangerous phase.
Mahmoud Abbas blamed the latest tensions on a series of visits by Jewish worshippers to Jerusalem's most sensitive
holy site. The visits to the contested site have helped fan strife in a region already on edge following last summer's
bloody war in the Gaza Strip and the earlier failure of U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry's Mideast peace efforts.
Abbas' remarks — at a ceremony marking the 10th anniversary of the death of Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat —
came as Israeli troops shot and killed a Palestinian demonstrator in clashes in the West Bank on Tuesday.
The shooting happened a day after a Palestinian from the West Bank city of Nablus stabbed and killed a 20-year-old
Israeli soldier at a crowded Tel Aviv train station and another Palestinian assailant stabbed three people at a bus stop
next to a West Bank settlement, killing a 25-year-old Israeli woman and wounding two others.
Much of the recent unrest has stemmed from tensions surrounding the holy site in Jerusalem's Old City, known to
Jews as the Temple Mount and Muslims as the Noble Sanctuary. It is home to the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the goldtopped Dome of the Rock, the third-holiest site in Islam after Mecca and Medina in Saudi Arabia. It is also revered as
the location where the ancient Hebrew temples once stood and today is considered the most sacred place in Judaism.
Palestinians in east Jerusalem have carried out violent protests, alleging that Jewish zealots are secretly trying to gain
control of the site. The Palestinians claim east Jerusalem, captured by Israel in 1967, as their capital.
While Jews are permitted to visit the hilltop compound, they are not supposed to pray. Palestinian fears have been
heightened by an increased number of visits by Jewish hard-liners and calls by members of Netanyahu's governing
coalition for an expanded Jewish presence there. They also object to Israeli restrictions on Muslims entering the
compound. Israel says the restrictions are security measures.
In an address to thousands of people at his West Bank headquarters, Abbas accused Israel of trying to divide the
mosque compound, comparing it to the experience of a holy site in the West Bank that was split between Jewish and
Muslim sides after an Israeli settler gunned down 29 Muslim worshippers there 20 years ago.
"Leaders of Israel make a mistake if they think they can divide the Al-Aqsa Mosque as they have done in Ibrahimi
Mosque, and they will retreat from this one too," he said.
"By dividing the mosques, they are leading us to a religious war, and no one, Muslim or Christian, will accept that
Jerusalem be theirs," Abbas said. "Jerusalem is our capital, and there will be no concessions."
Following Monday's deadly attacks in the West Bank and Tel Aviv, Israel said it was stepping up security in an
attempt to forestall further incidents.
Police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld said several police units had been mobilized in major Israeli cities, including Tel
Aviv and Jerusalem, and were being deployed "in public places."
The Israeli military said it sent reinforcements to the West Bank, following what it called "new security assessments."
"I think these reinforcements will calm the situation down," said Defense Minister Moshe Yaalon.
In new fighting, Israeli troops shot and killed a Palestinian demonstrator in clashes in the West Bank on Tuesday.
Tuesday's clashes erupted near the city of Hebron where about 150 Palestinian demonstrators were throwing rocks and
firebombs at Israeli soldiers, the army said.
The soldiers' attempts to disperse the crowd using tear gas and rubber bullets failed, prompting the troops to open fire,
the military said.
The Mezan Hospital identified the dead man as a 21-year-old resident of the al-Aroub refugee camp near Hebron.
The new spate of violence comes amid rising tensions spawned by conflicting claims to the Jerusalem holy site and the
aftermath of this summer's bloody Gaza war, in which more than 2,100 Palestinians and 72 people on the Israeli side
were killed.
Complicating the situation, tensions also spiked following the killing of an Israeli Arab by a policeman in the northern
Israeli town of Kfar Kana on Saturday.
Israeli media debated whether the country was on the verge of a new Palestinian uprising or intifada, similar to those
from the late 1980s and the first decade of the 2000s that took hundreds of lives.
"This is the same soundtrack that we all remember from the days of the intifadas," wrote Alex Fishman in Tuesday's
edition of Yediot Ahronot newspaper.
Enav reported from Jerusalem.

Snapshot of NY Times Headline Bias
November 11, 2014
What a difference 16 hours makes in the life of a New York Times headline about Palestinian violence.
Shortly after a Palestinian stabbed to death Israeli soldier Almog Shiloni yesterday outside a Tel Aviv train station, the
straightforward headline was "Palestinian Stabs Israeli Soldier at Tel Aviv Train Station." The headline clearly
identified the perpetrator (a Palestinian), what he did (stabbed), and his victim (an Israeli soldier).
The headline in today's International New York Times, an edition which has an earlier deadline, is consistent with the
original, clear wording:
Apparently, the clear identification of a Palestinian as being responsible for a violent attack was uncomfortable for one
or more Times editors.
The article's headline now appears online as:
This is also the headline that appears in print in the domestic edition of The New York Times, which has a later
deadline than the international paper.
A glance at the Newsdiff site, which tracks changes made to news headlines, reveals the striking evolution of The
Times headline. A snapshot of the Newsdiff log tracking the changes is below, with the newer headlines at the top:
The first, clearer headline is active ("Palestinian stabs"), while the passive language in the newest headline
("Palestinians are suspected") downplays Palestinian culpability. The first headline states as fact that a Palestinian
was responsible for the stabbing. According to the latest version , Palestinians are only "suspected."
In the current headline, Israelis "die," they are not "killed," language which again downplays Palestinian responsibility
for violence.
The headline isn't the only aspect of the story which underwent transformations which served to downplay Palestinian
culpability for violence. The first paragraph of the international edition reports as fact that Palestinians were
responsible for the two stabbings: "Both attacks were carried out by Palestinian men. . . "
In the later domestic edition, the fact that Palestinians carried out the attacks was downgraded to an Israeli assertion:
"An Israeli soldier and a woman were killed on Monday in separate stabbing attacks that the authorities attributed
to Palestinian men . . ."
What is the justification for The Times' caution in identifying the assailants as Palestinians? By yesterday afternoon,
hours before editors inserted the term "suspected" into the headline, Islamic Jihad already claimed responsibility for
the second deadly attack in which Dalia Lemkus, 26, was murdered. Regarding the first attack, Hamas spokesman
Husam Badram readily attributed it to Palestinians, saying that the killing of soldier Almog Shiloni "reflects the tenacity
of our people to resist the occupation and move against the crimes [committed] in al-Aqsa and in Jerusalem.”

Mika Brzezinski: Politico Attack On Valerie Jarrett Is Sexist
Monday's Politico featured a piece called "Fire Valerie Jarrett" which suggested if the President was going to shake
up his administration he should start with his closet adviser Valerie Jarrett. On MSNBC.com, Mika Brzezinski fired
back that the suggestion that Jarrett has got to go was sexist.
The Politico author, who is a woman, makes the suggestion about Jarrett because she is the president's closest
adviser and that is who usually takes the hit after a rejection of the President after a midterm election:
Let’s stipulate right away that it would be unfair to blame Jarrett, the longtime Obama family friend and
confidante, for the walloping that the president and his party suffered at the polls on Tuesday. And
Jarrett will no doubt be needed in the weeks ahead to comfort her old pals, Barack and Michelle.
[...] But let’s also face facts—and expect the president to do so as well. We’re at that point in an
already long-toothed presidency when things inside really need to change. In the days before anyone
knew how brutally the Democrats would get beaten, politicians and staffers and pundits were urging a
shakeup of the White House staff.
This is, after all, a time-honored practice for an administration in trouble. Somebody’s got to take the
blame other than president, who’s not going to resign himself. Past presidents who fared badly in
midterm elections have not been shy about making high-level changes—George W. Bush fired
Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld after the 2006 midterms and also replaced his chief of staff.
Presidents Dwight Eisenhower and Ronald Reagan at the same low point in their administrations
replaced their chiefs of staff when they failed to perform up to expectations or fell from grace. George
H.W. Bush did the same to chief of staff John Sununu.
According to a Brzezinski op-ed published on MSNBC.com, Politico was simply indulging in the typical “blame-the-
woman” routine:
As Valerie can tell you, Joe and I have been tough on the White House when their actions concerned
those around the Morning Joe set. I have dished out criticism toward Valerie and her peers many
times. But I must say this week’s gossipy post-mortems after the elections are unbecoming.
Would these criticisms be leveled at men like John Podesta or Dan Pfeiffer? They work closely with
the President. In fact, Ms. Jarrett was out of commission for the most important stretch of the
campaign because of a serious medical procedure on her spine. So why is Valerie the focus of these
ridiculous attacks?
Perhaps it is because she is a woman. In the case of the Politico piece, which was written by a
woman, I can draw from the conclusions in my book – women are often the toughest on their own. But
whether the attacks come from women or men in the media, it does seem that strong female advisors
who are close to the president become the focus of the most hostile and catty criticism. Whether it was
the horrific caricatures of Condi Rice, or the snide sneers aimed at Karen Hughes, or today’s unfair
focus on Valerie, at this point the whole “blame-the-woman” routine is just getting old.
Brzezinski ignores the entire premise of the Politico piece. Jarrett had nothing to do with managing the Democratic
Party loss in the midterm elections. According to Politico, after a horrible midterm loss, Presidents usually get rid of
some of their top advisers, and Jarrett should be targeted because she is Obama's closest adviser.

De Blasio: 'New York City Is Ebola-Free'
Doctor treated for Ebola released
11.11.2014

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio announced in a press conference Tuesday that Dr. Craig Spencer, the NY doctor
diagnosed with Ebola after treating patients in Guinea, was officially “Ebola-free”—and now so was New York.
“Dr. Spencer is Ebola-free, and New York City is Ebola-free,” de Blasio declared. Along with NY first lady Chirlane
McCray, de Blasio hugged Spencer and commended him for his “strength, courage, dignity, humor amidst it all.”
In a written statement released the same day, de Blasio said that Spencer’s recovery was proof of the city’s “proper
preparedness:
Today is proof that proper preparedness and erring on the side of caution can save lives. On behalf of
all New Yorkers, I am greatly relieved to hear of Dr. Spencer’s recovery and thank him for his
important and heroic work on the frontlines of this devastating epidemic in West Africa.
At the press conference, Spencer said his recovery “speaks to the effectiveness of the protocols in place” for
returning health staff and that he is a “living example” of the importance of early detection. He also pressed for
continued support for volunteers:
Please join me in turning our attention back to West Africa, and ensuring that medical volunteers and
other aid workers do not face stigma and threats upon their return home. Volunteers need to be
supported to help fight this outbreak at its source.
Upon returning to the states from treating Ebola cases in West Africa, Spencer began to exhibit Ebola-like symptoms
and was admitted to Bellevue Hospital Center on Oct. 23.
Ahead of his release, Bellevue issued a statement declaring Spencer officially “free of the virus” and assuring the
public that he “poses no public health risk.”

In a Stunning Development, WH Lowers Expectations on
ObamaCare Signups
By Jammie
People love ObamaCare so much they’re staying away in droves. Raise your hand if this
surprises you in the least.
With new sign-ups launching this weekend, the Obama administration sharply
dialed down expectations Monday for the second year of the president’s push to
provide health insurance for all Americans.
A report released Monday by the Department of Health and Human Services
estimated that 9 million to 9.9 million paying customers will enroll for subsidized
private coverage in 2015.
That’s significantly lower than the 13 million the Congressional Budget Office had projected earlier this
year.
Until now, the congressional numbers have been used as the yardstick for the program’s success.
ObamaCare remains unpopular in much of the country, and Republicans will keep crusading for
changes when they assume full control of Congress next year.
Can’t you just feel the excitement building? At least 34 people can:
At least when the website crashes on a Saturday morning there will be less humiliation.
The "stupid" American voter. That's YOU!
"Obamacare architect Jonathan Gruber bragging about deceiving the American people on
Obamacare."
"I'd rather have this law than not."
I'm so happy this jerkwad is happy. Aren't we all happy he is happy?
This country would run out of rope and trees if we hung all the frickin traitorous (EVIL) politicians and
their sidekicks who need to be hung!
AND if I recall correctly, the American public was against this bill something like 67% so it certainly
had nothing to do with stupidity of the public!

U Penn Deletes Video Of Obamacare Architect Insulting American
Voters
Alex Griswold
The Daily Caller’s Patrick Howley reported Sunday that Obamacare architect Jonathan Gruber had said at the
University of Pennsylvania’s 24th Annual Health Economics Conference that it was a good thing that Americans
never realized what was in the Affordable Care Act, because “the stupidity of the American voter” would have
otherwise killed the law.
But for unexplained reasons, the University of Pennsylvania has pulled its video of the event, which took place in
October of 2013. ”This video has been removed by the user,” a message now reads. “Sorry about that.” The video is
still embedded on the conference page, but playing the video gives a similar error message.
One person who was angry to hear of the apparent cover-up was Bloomberg columnist Megan McArdle. “This is
pretty shocking behavior by my alma mater,” she tweeted, “Why would @Penn pull down a public video that has
political implications?”
Phil Kerpen, president of the organization that first found the video, American Commitments, also claimed that the Ivy
League university refused to give Fox News permission to use the video.
UPDATE: Shortly after people began drawing attention to the deleted video, a new video of the event was uploaded
and embedded on the conference page. U Penn has still not commented publicly on why the original video was
deleted.

James Carville Says 80% Of Democrats Are Politically Clueless
James Carville, Democrat political consultant extraordinaire – and former Bill Clinton campaign manager, has
astonishingly come out and said what all good Republicans have known for decades: Not only are most Democrats
politically clueless; they’re easily manipulated by the puppet masters of their party as well. Wow. James Freaking
Carville. Of all people. Here’s an excerpt, as quoted on Amazon.com:
“Ideologies aren’t all that important. What’s important is psychology.
The Democratic constituency is just like a herd of cows. All you have to do is lay out enough silage
and they come running. That’s why I became an operative working with Democrats. With Democrats
all you have to do is make a lot of noise, lay out the hay, and be ready to use the ole cattle prod in
case a few want to bolt the herd.
Eighty percent of the people who call themselves Democrats don’t have a clue as to political
reality.
What amazes me is that you could take a group of people who are hard workers and convince them
that they should support social programs that were the exact opposite of their own personal
convictions. Put a little fear here and there and you can get people to vote any way you want .
The voter is basically dumb and lazy. The reason I became a Democratic operative instead of a
Republican was because there were more Democrats that didn’t have a clue than there were
Republicans.
Truth is relative. Truth is what you can make the voter believe is the truth. If you’re smart enough, truth
is what you make the voter think it is. That’s why I’m a Democrat. I can make the Democratic voters
think whatever I want them to.”

Marketplace Fairness Act in June. (Tom Williams/CQ Roll Call)
A bipartisan group passed the Marketplace Fairness Act out of the Senate last year on a 69-27 vote, led by Sens.
Richard J. Durbin, D-Ill., and Michael B. Enzi, R-Wyo., but it has languished in the House.
Backers hope to get the bill through during the lame-duck session, and aren’t yet throwing in the towel despite
Smith’s comment.
“The bill may change or even be folded into another piece of ‘must-pass’ legislation. The fight is far from over,”
tweeted Stephen E. Schatz of the National Retail Federation. “We have about three weeks in the lame duck.
Anything can happen. Retailers are all in to get this done this year.”
“Our goal hasn’t changed and the bipartisan group of senators and the coalition will continue to work to find a path
forward for it,” a Durbin aide told CQ Roll Call.
The bill is strongly backed by national brick-and-mortar retailers, who have to collect sales tax on the web because
they have operations in the states that collect sales taxes. They often are competing against web outfits that are
located out of state and therefore are not required to collect sales tax under a Supreme Court precedent.
It’s strongly backed by the Obama administration, and would provide billions for the coffers of states that levy sales
taxes without actually requiring a tax increase. (Purchasers of items online are typically supposed to levy the tax on
themselves and send a check to their state, but almost no one does).
But it also has been opposed by some conservative and anti-tax groups, including Americans for Tax Reform and its
president, Grover Norquist.
If the bill isn’t revived, gas taxes will jump in at least two states — Virginia and Maryland — where lawmakers tied
their transportation funding formulas to passage of the Marketplace Fairness Act or similar legislation.
Judiciary Chairman Robert W. Goodlatte, R-Va., may soon be paying a little bit more at the pump on his way to and
from Washington.
The additional 1.6 percent wholesale gas tax would take effect Jan. 1.

Obama’s AG nominee has seized $904 million in private property through
“civil asset forfeiture”
Obama is trying to rush the confirmation of his new Attorney General through the Senate before the newly elected
Republican majority takes over. But there are plenty of reasons why Senators on both sides of the aisle should have
great pause before approving Loretta Lynch.
In recent months, much has been written about the concept of "civil asset forfeiture," in which police routinely steal
billions of dollars worth of private property without even so much as criminal charges. As it turns out, Loretta Lynch
is all for it, and her US attorney’s office has benefited from it to the tune of nearly a BILLION dollars. from Wall Street Journal:
As a prosecutor Ms. Lynch has also been aggressive in pursuing civil asset forfeiture, which has become a form of
policing for profit. She recently announced that her office had collected more than $904 million in criminal and civil
actions in fiscal 2013, according to the Brooklyn Daily Eagle. Liberals and conservatives have begun to question
forfeiture as an abuse of due process that can punish the innocent.
Civil asset forfeiture is one of the greatest threats to private property in modern America, and Lynch is one of the
pioneering legal minds in the country advocating it. It is one of the worst practices in police work today, and President
Obama wants to make one of the worst offenders the nation’s top cop.
This alone should be enough to completely toss Lynch’s nomination, but that’s not going to stop President Obama
from doing his utmost to cram it through.

Missouri Governor to outline law enforcement plans for
decision on police shooting
Reuters – 19 minutes ago
(Reuters) - Missouri Governor Jay Nixon on Tuesday is expected to detail law enforcement preparations ahead of
protests that could erupt once a grand jury decides whether to indict a white police officer in the fatal shooting of an
unarmed black teenager in Ferguson.
Tensions have been building for weeks as the St. Louis suburb awaits an announcement of the grand jury's decision on
the shooting death of Michael Brown, 18, by Ferguson Police Officer Darren Wilson on Aug. 9. There is widespread
expectation the grand jury will not indict Wilson.
The shooting of Brown sparked weeks of demonstrations and some groups have threatened extensive protests if the
officer is not charged with a crime.
Rumors of an impending announcement have flooded social media for days, prompting St. Louis County Prosecuting
Attorney Robert McCulloch on Monday to reiterate his expectation that the grand jury would not make a decision until
mid-to-late November.
McCulloch, whose prosecutors have been presenting evidence to the grand jury, said his office would advise the public
when a determination has been made.
St. Louis area activists at midday on Tuesday plan to conduct training for legal observation, non-violent protest
techniques and street first aid treatment in anticipation of demonstrations that could follow if the grand jury does not
vote charges against Wilson.
The National Lawyers Guild and American Civil Liberties Union are assisting in the training of protesters, who have
sought to negotiate terms of engagement with law enforcement for demonstrations.
Shortly after Wilson killed Brown, there was looting and vandalism of some Ferguson businesses, as well as clashes
with police. The protests over Brown's death have since been mostly peaceful as the grand jury decision is awaited.
Some businesses have boarded up windows and made plans for how to protect themselves and their property if protests
ignite into violence and destruction.
The Ferguson-Florissant School District, which had to delay the start of the school year due to protests in August, has
reviewed contingency plans in case there are serious protests and schools have to dismiss students early for safety
reasons.
Jana Shortt, director of communications for the school district, said parents have been asked to update their contact
information and to make sure they have authorized people to pick up their children, if they are let out early.

Gun Sales Surge In Ferguson Ahead Of Grand Jury Decision…
Amazingly, CNN still describes the protests that erupted in Ferguson as “mostly nonviolent.”
Ferguson, Missouri (CNN) — Lately, Dan McMullen has been bringing an extra gun to his office in
Ferguson, Missouri.
McMullen runs Solo Insurance on West Florissant close to where looting and vandalism briefly broke
out in early August after a police officer shot to death teenager Michael Brown.
“I bring an extra gun now only because it has a bigger magazine,” McMullen says. He began carrying
it after tensions increased in the area following the shooting. He says he would never use it to protect
his business, but he would use it to save his life.
“So maybe I get trapped here or something and have to have a John Wayne shootout,” McMullen
says before interrupting himself, smiling. “That’s the silly part about it: Is that going to happen? Not a
chance. But I guess, could it? I’m the only white person here.”
McMullen is particularly cautious now, as all of Ferguson and much of the nation waits to see whether
a grand jury will indict Officer Darren Wilson for the shooting. Though the grand jury has until January
to issue its ruling, the prosecutor’s office has said a decision could come in mid-November.
McCullen warns others considering getting a gun not to be reckless. When his adult son told him he
wanted a gun to protect himself after the grand jury decision, McMullen warned him not to rush into it.
“People like him need to think about it, and not think about ‘I’m worried about this stuff,’ ” McMullen
says.
On Monday, Steven King, who owns Metro Shooting Supplies told CNN that customers bought 100
guns this weekend. A typical weekend brings in about 30 buyers.
“People are afraid they are gonna throw Molotov cocktails,” says King, referring to the mostly
nonviolent protests that have taken place in Ferguson since the shooting.

Ben Stein: Real Race Problem In America Is: 'BeatenDown, Pathetic, Self-Defeating Black Underclass'
'If you read the liberal mainstream media, that the main problem with race in America was poor
innocent black people being set upon and mistreated by the police'
After speaking out on Fox News against President Obama days before last week's mid-term elections,
economist turned actor Ben Stein appeared on The Steve Malzberg Show on Newsmax to provide
post-election analysis. When the issue of race relations in America was addressed, Stein said that
liberals in the mainstream media spend too much time focusing on "innocent black peoplebeing...
mistreated by the police" instead of the "real problem with race in America."
He then went on to explain what he believes to be the "real problem":
“You would think, if you read the liberal mainstream media, that the main problem with race in
America was poor innocent black people being set upon and mistreated by the police. That’s just
nonsense. I mean, the real problem with race in America is a very, very beaten-down, pathetic, selfdefeating black underclass that is, uh, just can’t seem to get its way going in the way that blacks were
able to before the scourge of drugs and the scourge of gangs.
I mean, it’s an amazing thing — blacks were on their way in this country, even after the horrors of
slavery, and then drugs came in, the destruction of families came in, and the crisis in the black
community is just absolutely unbelievable. And that, it seems to me, is something that Mr. Obama
could have addressed, and he has ignored it completely.”

Condoleezza Rice: The True Racists Are Liberals Who Support Teachers’
Unions
11.10.2014 | Jerome Hudson |
Condoleezza Rice has been on a tear as of late. Last week, Rice penned an article for Communities Digital News in
which she blasted the real racists in the Democratic party.
“I’ve been black all my life. You don’t have to tell me how to be black,” Rice wrote. “One thing the Democrats spent a
lot of time doing during the campaign was playing the ‘race card,’ in a divisive and destructive manner, attempting to
stir fear in black voters and draw them to the polls in larger numbers than the typical mid-term election usually does,”
Rice said of the midterm elections.
Today, Condoleezza Rice appeared on Fox And Friends where she discussed President Obama’s foreign policy
failures.
After that segment, the former secretary of state had more to say on Fox News Radio’s Kilmeade & Friends.
“Poor black kids trapped in failing neighborhoods schools, that’s the biggest race problem of today,” Rice said. Her
comments were in response to a recent court ruling in California that said teacher tenure violates children’s civil
rights.
According to Condi Rice, real racism is being perpetuated by contemporary liberals who defend teachers’ unions that
keep minority children trapped in failing schools in predominantly poor neighborhoods.
“That’s the biggest civil rights issue of today. Anybody who isn’t in favor of school choice, anybody who isn’t in favor
of educational reform, anybody who defends the status quo in the educational system, that’s racist to me,” said Rice
who is currently a professor of political science at Stanford University.
It’s true that there is no shortage of liberal Democrats standing in the way of school choice, vouchers, charter
schools, and other reforms that help level the playing field for poor and underserved students. Democrats–who say
they are always fighting for the little guy–are actually protecting teachers’ unions that heavily support liberal
candidates during political elections.

Limbaugh Lawyer: DCCC Fundraising 'Unforgivable'
Patty Glaser, the lawyer for Rush Limbaugh, said that the Democratic Congressional
Campaign Committee's attempts to fundraise off of Limbaugh's comments on
sexual assault were "unforgivable" in an appearance on Monday's "Hannity" on the
Fox News Channel.
Glaser called the DCCC's fundraising "just unforgivable, and it's black and white. There needs to be no hyperbole,
there needs to be no stretching. Rush's comments were deliberately taken out of context for apparently political
reasons by people who should know better. This was not an irresponsible blogger. This was a Democratic
Congressional Campaign Committee made up of people that we've elected to Congress. Shame on them."
Hannity played a clip of Limbaugh's comments where he said, "consent must be freely given, can be withdrawn at
any time, and the absence of 'no' does not mean 'yes.' How many of you guys, in your own experience with women,
have learned that 'no' means 'yes' if you know how to spot it? Let me tell you something. In this modern world, that is
simply, that's not tolerated. People aren't even gonna try to understand that one." Glaser then added that Limbaugh
said we need to "reprogram the way we raise men."
She also cited precedent that taking words out of context can be considered defamation, and that even though
Limbaugh is a public figure, "I have to show malice. Could it be any clearer what the malice is? I don't even think I
need to explain that to people who are watching the show. It is a deliberate effort to mischaracterize."
Glaser claimed that "the initial response [from the DCCC], which we heard today, was accusing Rush of being the
bad guy without any substantive response to, 'wait a minute, you didn't tell the truth. You have a responsibility to tell
the truth.' They don't do that at all. First they said they didn't get my letter. well, we have proof, proof, evidence that
they got our letter at 11:35 this morning, Washington, DC time. I happen to be in Los Angeles. So we know that's not
true. And then they don't deal with the substance of it by acknowledging that they never say, 'oh, we made a
mistake.' We want an apology, we want a retraction. and we want it as broadly disseminated as the irresponsible
defamation was broadly disseminated."

Separate And Unequal: Minnesota School District To Review All
Suspensions Of ‘Black And Brown’ Students
Minneapolis Public Schools are implementing a new policy aimed at eliminating the gap between the races when it
comes to suspensions. Nothing will change for white students, they will still be suspended at the discretion of each
school’s principal. But for minority students, specifically black, Hispanic and Native American students, the
Minneapolis Schools Superintendent’s office will personally review each case.
This new policy is part of an agreement with U.S. Department of Education’s Office of Civil Rights announced last
week after an investigation into why minority students made up such a high percentage suspended students in the
past.
Superintendent Bernadeia Johnson told NPR, “I and all of my staff will start to review all non-violent suspensions of
students of color, especially black boys, to understand why they’re being suspended so we can help intervene with
teachers, student leaders and help give them the targeted support they need for these students.”
In a press release announcing the new policy, which begins Monday, Johnson’s office said, “Moving forward, every
suspension of a black or brown student will be reviewed by the superintendent’s leadership team. The school district
aims to more deeply understand the circumstances of suspensions with the goal of providing greater supports to the
school, student or family in need. This team could choose to bring in additional resources for the student, family and
school.”
Johnson hopes to eliminate the “nonviolent suspension gap” by the year 2018. “To achieve this,” the statement read,
“MPS must aggressively reduce the disproportionality between black and brown students and their white peers every
year for the next four years. This will begin with a 25 percent reduction in disproportionality by the end of this school
year; 50 percent by 2016; 75 percent by 2017; and 100 percent by 2018.”
The ethnic make-up of Minneapolis schools is majority minority. According to data for the 2014-2015 school year,
33.8 percent of students are white, while 37.2 percent are black, 19.3 percent are Hispanic, and 3.8 percent are
Native American. Asians represent 6.8 percent of the student body but were not mentioned by Superintendent
Johnson as being impacted by this new policy.
How this policy of different standards for students of different races squares with the Supreme Court decision in
Brown vs. Board of Education of Topeka remains to be seen, but court challenges are expected in the case.
The full statement from Minneapolis Public Schools is below:
Minneapolis Public Schools (MPS) Superintendent Bernadeia Johnson announced today her intent to
eliminate the nonviolent suspension gap by 2018. To achieve this, MPS must aggressively reduce the
disproportionality between black and brown students and their white peers every year for the next four
years. This will begin with a 25 percent reduction in disproportionality by the end of this school year;
50 percent by 2016; 75 percent by 2017; and 100 percent by 2018.
This goal, along with an update on the school district’s continued direction for implementing behavior
standards and disciplinary action, will be presented at the Board of Education meeting on Monday.
Moving forward, every suspension of a black or brown student will be reviewed by the
superintendent’s leadership team. The school district aims to more deeply understand the
circumstances of suspensions with the goal of providing greater supports to the school, student or
family in need. This team could choose to bring in additional resources for the student, family and
school.
The announcement comes on the heels of the superintendent’s announcement this fall placing a
moratorium on nonviolent suspensions for students in Pre-Kindergarten through first grade, which
began in September. While the moratorium affected the school district’s youngest learners, efforts
paid off in multiple areas already. Compared to last school year at this time, suspensions for all
student groups have nearly been cut in half.
“We embrace the charge to serve all students in our city with a high quality education. We take
ownership of ensuring that our policies and practices equitably serve all students, especially those
who have been historically marginalized in MPS,” said Johnson. “Changing the trajectory for our
students of color is a moral and ethical imperative, and our actions must be drastically different to
achieve our goal of closing the achievement gap by 2020.”
MPS has undertaken many significant efforts in recent years to ensure that students, especially those
of color, graduate from MPS with a high quality education. Examples of this work include creating the
new behavior standards policy; enacting the moratorium on non-violent suspension in PreK-1;
establishing the Office of Black Male Student Achievement; passing an equity policy; and launching
important academic supports, such as the winter and spring break academies designed to offer
greater learning opportunities for students.
MPS passed the behavior standards policy in December of 2013 with the goal of increasing the
amount of quality time students spend learning. In part, the school district plans to achieve this by
increasing the connection to school and engagement in earning and by reducing suspension and outof-class time, especially for students who are disproportionately affected by discipline that places
them outside of class.

Colo. school to students: No praying during free time
ADF files suit after public school censors religious discussion, expression during open period
Monday, November 10, 2014
Attorney sound bites: Jeremy Tedesco | Matt Sharp
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Alliance Defending Freedom attorneys filed suit in federal court Friday on behalf of
a Pine Creek High School senior told that he and a group of other students may no longer informally meet to pray
and discuss religious topics during free time as they have for the past three years.
School officials claimed the “separation of church and state” required the religious speech ban during an open period
of the day equivalent to recess when students are free to spend time together, text on their phones, or discuss any
other topic. Academy School District #20 and its legal counsel support the school’s decision despite the fact that ADF
attorneys explained in an Oct. 7 letter to the district that the policy violates the First Amendment, which protects the
students’ religious speech.
“Public schools should encourage the free exchange of ideas. Instead, this school implemented an ill-conceived ban
that singles out religious speech for censorship during free time,” said ADF Senior Legal Counsel Jeremy Tedesco.
“Far from being unconstitutional, religious speech is expressly protected by the First Amendment, and public schools
have no business stopping students from praying together during their free time,” added ADF Legal Counsel Matt
Sharp.
The school district’s Open Time Policy permits all students to leave class 15 minutes after the beginning of the
“seminar” home-room period on Mondays and Wednesdays. Students who are earning more than a “D” grade can
do the same on Fridays. School district policies and procedures define “open time” in numerous places as consisting
of lunchtime and the seminar period.
During the free time, students are permitted to engage in a virtually unlimited variety of activities, including gathering
with other students inside or outside; reading; sending text messages to their friends; playing games on their phone;
visiting the bathrooms; getting a snack; visiting teachers; and conducting official meetings of school clubs.
For three years, student Chase Windebank met during the free period on Mondays and
Fridays with students in an unoccupied choir room to pray, sing Christian songs, and
discuss issues of the day from a religious perspective. On Sept. 29, Assistant Principal
James Lucas told Windebank that the meetings could continue but any religious speech
would have to stop because of the “separation of church and state,” an inaccurate
shorthand description of the First Amendment, which actually protects private religious
expression.
Lucas and Principal Kolette Back said Windebank and the other students could only
engage in religious speech before or after school. Because the school forced the
students to meet for prayer and religious discussion either before or after school – and
because of the difficulties students have in meeting at those times due to sports, work, or
other factors – the number of students participating has dwindled from approximately 90
students to as low as 12.
ADF attorneys sent a letter to the school district explaining the unconstitutionality of the
school’s policy and practice, but the district responded in its own letter that it stands by
the school’s decision. That prompted the lawsuit Windebank v. Academy School District
#20, filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado.

Government program shutting down conservatives on Twitter
If you haven’t heard about the government funded program ironically named “Truthy”, you need to read about it. In
short, it’s a program hosted at Indiana University that ostensibly monitors if, when and how false information trends on
Twitter. But, as you might have guessed, the real point of it is a little more sinister. Alright, a lot more sinister.
From Washington Free Beacon:
The House Science, Space, and Technology Committee sent a letter to the head of the National Science Foundation
(NSF) on Monday, demanding answers about the origins of the nearly $1 million taxpayer-funded project to track
“misinformation” on Twitter.
The Truthy project, being conducted by researchers at Indiana University, is under investigation for targeting political
commentary on Twitter. The project monitors “suspicious memes,” “false and misleading ideas,” and “hate speech,”
with a goal of one day being able to automatically detect false rumors on the social media platform.
The web service has been used to track tweets using hashtags such as #tcot (Top Conservatives on Twitter), and was
successful in getting accounts associated with conservatives suspended, according to a 2012 book co-authored by the
project’s lead researcher, Filippo Menczer, a professor of Informatics and Computer Science at Indiana University.
Menczer has also said that Truthy monitored tweets using #p2 (Progressive 2.0), but did not discuss any examples of
getting liberal accounts suspended in his book.
I know. It’s crazy to think that the government might want to silence conservatives. Oh wait…
Anyway, the mere fact that they say that they’re not targeting conservatives means nothing. They can’t say it or the
media might be forced to cover it and the jig would be up.

Arctic air continued to surge into the central U.S. on Tuesday, while record-breaking
snow buried portions of the upper Midwest.
Temperatures were only in the single digits, teens, and 20s across much of the northcentral U.S. as of Tuesday morning. Temperatures Tuesday are forecast to be 20 to
40 degrees below average for areas east of the Rockies into the Great Plains, the
National Weather Service warned.
Wind chills were as cold as 20 below zero in portions of western Montana on Tuesday.
Significant snow fell across Minnesota to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan Monday and more snow was set for
Tuesday, especially across Wisconsin and Michigan, where 6-12 additional inches of snow is likely, AccuWeather
predicts.
Local amounts of up to 18 inches may fall within this swath, especially around Lake Superior.

Weather service meteorologist Justin Titus says Tuesday morning that a foot is on the ground at the weather
service's office in Marquette, Mich., in the Upper Peninsula.
Driving conditions are hazardous amid heavy snow. Titus says roads are in "very poor condition." Two to 3 inches of
snow was falling an hour on Tuesday morning.
In Minnesota, several school systems had two-hour delays Tuesday morning, including St. Cloud, Princeton and
Melrose. The Minnesota Department of Transportation's website shows that roads and highways in about two-thirds
of the state are completely or partially covered with snow.
The town of St. Augusta, Minn., reported 16.5 inches of snow Monday afternoon, according to the Weather Channel.
The official total in St. Cloud was 13.2 inches, breaking the all-time November calendar-day record of 12.0 inches set
on Nov. 21, 1898.
Monday's St. Cloud snowstorm was the biggest November storm there since the Halloween blizzard of 1991, which
dumped 12.1 inches on Oct. 31-Nov. 1 of that year, the weather service reports.
The national weather forecast for Tues. Nov. 11 calls for beautiful weather in the East, snow in the western Great
Lakes and much cooler in the Norther Rockies. VPC
The Minnesota State Patrol said at least two people were killed in accidents on icy roads. Troopers handled 475
crashes and more than 700 spinouts statewide by Monday evening.
The cold wave will continue to slide south and east over the next couple of days, finally reaching the Deep South and
East Coast by Thursday.
"Freezing temperatures are possible in parts of the South and East that have not yet had such temperatures this
season," AccuWeather meteorologist Alex Sosnowski said.
Temperatures are expected to remain below freezing for nearly two weeks in the Upper Midwest, Minneapolis
included.

Obama To Iran: Stop Fighting ISIS And Start Fighting ISIS!
Brandon Turbeville
Activist Post
On November 6, it was reported by the Wall Street Journal that U.S.
President Barack Obama had secretly written a letter to Iran’s Ayatollah
Khamenei asking and encouraging him to join America’s alleged fight
against the Islamic State.
The Wall Street Journal’s report was based on information provided by
“unnamed sources” who indicate that the letter was sent in Mid-October and
that it “described a shared interest in fighting Islamic State militants in Iraq
and Syria ... [and] appeared aimed both at buttressing the campaign against Islamic State and nudging Iran’s
religious leader closer to a nuclear deal.”
In addition, the reporting journalists also state that the letter stressed "that any cooperation on Islamic State was
largely contingent on Iran reaching a comprehensive agreement with global powers on the future of Tehran’s nuclear
program" ahead of the meeting scheduled to take place on November 24, regarding Iran’s nuclear capabilities.
Although the White House is not officially confirming the letter’s authenticity, the fact is that Barack Obama and the
Ayatollah have had communication on the subject of the Islamic State before.
However, this previous communication, also taking the form of a “secret letter not acknowledged by the Foreign
Ministry,” was initiated by the government of Iran suggesting that the United States and Iran work together in order to
defeat the Islamic State. This suggestion was promptly rejected by the U.S. State Department.
Indeed, it was reported by the BBC in September, 2014, that the Ayatollah Khamenei had “authorised his top
commander to co-ordinate military operations with the US, Iraqi and Kurdish forces.”
While the Iranian Foreign Ministry denied the veracity of the reports about the letter at the time, Iranian President
Hassan Rouhani subsequently stated that Iran was open to the idea of working with the United States to combat
extremism. As The Daily Beast wrote in September, 2014,
Well aware of its new position, Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani told the General Assembly on
September 25 that Iran’s promises of help in the war against ISIS depended on Western concessions
in the nuclear talks. “We are determined to continue our confidence-building approach and our
transparency” in the nuclear negotiations, Rouhani said. “If our interlocutors are equally motivated and
flexible,” then Iran and the West can start cooperating on “very important regional issues, such as
combating violence and extremism.”
Even before Rouhani’s statement to the General Assembly, however, the United States made it clear that the U.S.
was not interested in cooperation with Iran against IS. “We are not going to coordinate military action or share
intelligence with Iran and have no plans to do so,” said State Department Spokeswoman Marie Harf. She was also
insistent that the two countries would not be “coordinating our action together.”
Yet the United States did, in fact, request assistance from Iran to combat ISIS, a request that was relayed by none
other than Secretary of State Skull and Bones John Kerry himself. This request was reported by the LA Times on
September 15, 2014. The report states,
Iran has rejected direct overtures from top U.S. diplomats, including Secretary of State John F. Kerry,
to cooperate with Washington in the battle against Islamic State extremists in Iraq, Iran’s supreme
leader said Monday.
In his most extensive comments to date on the crisis, Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said the
U.S. ambassador in Baghdad had requested a meeting with his Iranian counterpart to discuss
“coordination” between the two nations to confront the threat of the Al Qaeda breakaway faction. The
U.S., for its part, says it is not coordinating military efforts against Islamic State with Iran, though it has
repeatedly discussed the issue with Iranian officials.
“I opposed [the U.S. request] and told them we will not cooperate with the Americans on the issue
because their intent and hands are not clean,” Khamenei said after being discharged from a weeklong
hospital stay during which he underwent prostate surgery, reported Press TV, Iran’s official Englishlanguage news outlet. “How is it possible for us to cooperate with the Americans under such
circumstances?”
According to Khamenei, Iran also rebuffed a request from Kerry for “cooperation,” as the Obama
administration seeks to build an international coalition against the Islamic State group. The request
was conveyed “personally” from Kerry to the Iranian foreign minister, Mohammad Javad Zarif,
Khamenei said.
“Iran has voiced its opposition to being a party to that coalition from the very beginning,” said Iran’s
supreme leader. “The Americans’ coalition is nonsense.”
So why are two countries, who both allegedly oppose ISIS and who are both allegedly fighting ISIS, entirely unwilling
to coordinate with one another in order to defeat ISIS?
While one could admittedly complicate the issue, the answer is actually quite simple. The reason for the inability of
the two countries to coordinate against ISIS is because one of the countries does not want to defeat ISIS. That
country, of course, is the United States.
Khamenei, for all his very obvious faults as dictator, is absolutely correct when he suggests that the hands of the U.S.
are not clean and that its intent is not genuine. The truth is that the U.S. and NATO would prefer that Iran join a
“coalition” that sees Iran following the orders and dictates of NATO, all while being crushed under sanctions and
unfair pressure over its non-existent nuclear weapons program. The United States and NATO do not want a partner
against ISIS, they want a dupe.
It should also be pointed out that, while the United States has targeted Syrian civilians, Syrian government oil
refineries, and Syrian grain silos among other forms of Syrian infrastructure , Iran has committed a small fighting force
of Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps troops inside Iraq for the purposes of defeating ISIS. Whatever Iran’s internal
situation may be like, it is clear that the Persian nation is entirely serious about destroying the Sunni terrorists funded
by Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the United States.
The U.S., of course, has armed, trained, directed, funded, and assisted those very terrorists since the beginning of the
Syrian crisis. When airstrikes did finally commence against ISIS in Syria and Iraq, it was immediately clear that the
strikes were aimed at protecting Big Oil’s infrastructure and destroying the infrastructure belonging to the Syrian
government, not defeating ISIS. A process of bomb-induced death squad herding also followed in which death squad
fighters appear to have been driven out of certain positions for the purposes of overwhelming others.
In the end, the reality is that the United States does not want to partner with Iran in order to destroy and defeat ISIS.
The U.S. does not, in reality, want to defeat ISIS at all. It does, however, desire to continue to use ISIS as its Arab
legion against Middle Eastern governments that America seeks to overthrow. Interestingly enough, one of these
target nations is Iran.
Secret letters or not, the United States’ olive branch of cooperation is nothing more than a veiled attempt at duping
Iran and/or providing itself with the cover of attempted diplomacy. Iran, so far, has been wise enough to resist such
cooperation and it would be wise to continue to do so.
Khamenei is absolutely correct to reject the American offers of “engagement” on the grounds that America’s hands
are dirty. But, unfortunately, as history demonstrates, America’s hands are not just dirty. They are poisoned.

IDF Braces for Rocket Fire on Two Borders, Redeploys Infantry to
Roiling West Bank (VIDEO)
As Israel’s security cabinet goes into an emergency session
Tuesday afternoon after Monday’s dual lethal terror attacks,
Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon warned that Israel is “in the
midst of an escalation” of Palestinian terrorism, Ynet News
reported.
However, army and other security agencies warn that the
hostilities may not only be coming from West Bank
Palestinians and Israeli Arabs identifying with them.
“There is concern over Palestinian factions in Gaza firing
isolated rockets into Israel, in identification with Palestinians
in the West Bank and Jerusalem,” a senior defense official
cautioned, “like last weekend’s salvo, fired by Palestinian
Islamic Jihad members.”

Agency.
The source noted that “if Hamas can carry out attacks in the West Bank, it will do so,” similar to two recent ramming
attacks in Jerusalem which the Islamic group took responsibility for that killed four Israelis, including an infant.
Additionally, in the north, the army redeployed at least one Iron Dome battery in the greater Haifa area in recent
days, over estimates that terrorist groups including Hezbollah, ISIS, and others, may fire rockets into Israel from
Lebanon and Syria.
Tekoa resident Dalia Lemkos, 25, and IDF Sgt. Almog Shiloni , 20, were both killed on Monday by knife-wielding
Palestinians, south of Jerusalem and in central Tel Aviv, respectively.
Security officials noted some 60 stonethrowing and firebombing attacks against Israeli motorists, both in Judea and
Samaria, Jerusalem, and in northern Israel, as well as rioting by Palestinian mobs in Hebron and elsewhere in the
last 72 hours.
IDF troops clashed with some 350 Palestinian rioters near Hebron, killing one rioter the army said aimed “an
improvised weapon” at soldiers, and wounded another, Ynet News said.
Ya’alon, during a visit with the IDF’s Gush Etzion Division, said that “successful stabbings and ramming attacks
usually prompt other copycat attacks. This is a stressful period and we should behave accordingly.”
According to Ya’alon, “Our working assumption is that anyone who has committing a terror attack crossing his mind,
will likely do it, and therefore it seems we’ll see more events like this,” noting that the recent string of such attacks
were, apparently, carried out independently.
However, Ya’alon pledged that “We cannot allow this escalation to develop, and therefore we increased forces in the
West Bank and on the seam line [security barrier with Israel], to prevent the passage of illegals into Israel.”
Ya’alon said the Palestinian Authority (PA) was making an effort to prevent terrorist attacks.
PA security “are working on the ground to prevent an escalation and are meeting with us to coordinate,” Ya’alon said,
but added that “On the other hand, the rhetoric of the top officials led to
the escalation.”
The watchdog group, Palestinian Media Watch, said in a brief released
Monday that the PA has adopted “Hamas’ religious belief presenting
peace with Israel as a violation of Islam.”
“When PA leaders use the term ‘ entire land of Palestine,’ they refer to
both the PA areas and all of the area of the State of Israel,” PMW
reported.
“This designation of all of Israel as “ waqf” has far-reaching political
ramifications as it prohibits and precludes any authentic PA peace treaty
with Israel,” according to the group.
Following senior-level security assessments Monday night which
included Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, some 500 crack troops of
the Golani Brigade’s 51st Battalion are being redeployed from the Golan
to the Judea and Samaria Division. Together with other experienced
infantry units, some 1,000 troops in total are being redirected to the area.

Riots Sweep Through Israeli Arab Towns After Terrorist Stabbings
November 11, 2014 12:08 pm
JNS.org – The terrorist stabbing attacks that took place in
Tel Aviv and Gush Etzion on Monday—killing 26-year-old
Israeli woman Dahlia Lemkus and 20-year-old Israel
Defense Forces Staff Sgt. Almog Shiloni—emboldened an
already violent Arab sector.
A senior source with Israel’s Northern District police
department told Israel Hayom that police deployment in the
area has been increased following concerns that the
residents of some of the Galilee’s Arab towns might attempt
to harm their Jewish neighbors.
Recent events have prompted the Israel Police to bolster
deployment nationwide, as well as urge public vigilance. The
Border Police have also increased their presence on the
ground in several volatile locations.

The Arab town of Kafr Kanna was the scene of several riots on Monday. Dozens of masked men clashed with police
forces, hurling stones and firing flares at the troops, and setting tires on fire. The Northern District Police Central
Control Unit was called to the scene and eventually dispersed the riot, arresting dozens of people.
In Nazareth, some 100 demonstrators clashed with police in the city’s Maayan Square, and 20 people were detained
for questioning. In a separate incident, a bus traveling through the city’s Paulus VI Road was stoned. None of the
passengers were hurt, but the bus sustained some damage.
Also on Monday, unknown vandals scrawled graffiti reading “Death to Jews” alongside a swastika on one of the
exterior walls of the Salesian Church of Jesus the Adolescent in Nazareth.

Suicide Nation: Competing Pathologies in the State of Israel
With this Third Intifada (2014-?) overtly underway, the
bleeding season is once again in full swing in Israel. Jews
are being murdered in increasingly resourceful ways by
Palestinian Arabs manifesting their insatiable bloodlust. But it
is Israel’s own pathology that enables the Arabs’ pathology.
Truth be told, Israel is reaping what it repeatedly sows.
Through its pathologically suicidal altruism, Israel became a
Lemming Nation, a state that self-immolates. Common sense
is seemingly unknown, and the slow bleed ensues. What is
normal in Israel is patently abnormal elsewhere. The real
tragedy is Israel’s evident resignation and complacency in
the face of avoidable horrors — horrors that are not and
would not be tolerated in any other civilized country on earth.
Superficially, it is mighty tempting to throw up one’s arms and
surrender to fatalism. After all, death-obsessed Arabs are
taking advantage of life-obsessed Jews. Same old story for
the millionth time. They know and exploit our Achilles heel.
They will never change, and we never should. “It is what it
is.” All that remains is to join the growing ranks of the
resigned.
Yet resignation to the situation must be fervently resisted for
the contemporary reality to ever improve.
Jews are not helpless, and need not be pathetic. For the first
The Bleeding Season Returns to Israel
time in almost two millennia, the Jewish People has a nationstate, the Middle East’s strongest military, internal and
external security services, a border police force, and a national police service. If we are incompetent, impotent, and
inept in spite of all this… then undoubtedly we are the masters of our own demise.
Looking at the current measures against terrorists reveals a nonsensical strain in Israeli cognition. Actions result from
an aberration in critical thinking. Presently, terrorists’ houses are demolished, but houses do not commits acts of
terror; terrorists are released by the hundreds to seduce the Palestinian Arabs into “peace” negotiations, an absurd
and lethal initiative to any sane mind; and wounded terrorists are treated in Israeli hospitals by the same people the
terrorists were in the process of murdering, a farcical proposition stranger than fiction. Startlingly, Israel aids and
abets its own piecemeal dismantling, and this is due to a dearth of clearheaded thinking and a surplus of misapplied
good intentions.
What can be done to cure Israel’s lame-duck pathology and heal the seeping flesh wounds? Are there concrete
measures that might stem the tide, or even reverse the trend? With a touch of common sense, much can be
achieved. Anything would be better than the status quo. Here are just a few policy changes that might have a
tremendous impact:
1) The Death Penalty for Terrorists: If they elude summary justice on site, terrorists who survive their missions
ought to be held to account and made to pay the ultimate price. Only in Palestinian Arab culture, where murderers are
“martyrs”, would this be no deterrent, but justice would be served, there would be no chance of released terrorists
terrorizing anew, and hosting terrorists in jails on the taxpayer’s shekel would be a thing of the past.
2) A Law against Releasing Terrorists: The Knesset should pass a law without delay stipulating that no Israeli
government or court can effect the release of convicted terrorists, with or without blood on their hands. Surprising as
it may be, terrorists sprung from their cells in “goodwill gestures” do not go into real estate or embark on teaching
careers. They terrorize at their soonest possible convenience, undeterred by capture, confident in the likelihood of
being released in the near future. Stopping the revolving door for terrorists is basic; allowing it to whirl is imbecilic.
3) Draconian Laws against Arab Incitement to Violence : Any Arab television channel, radio station, school,
organization, or individual fomenting unrest and inflaming others with calls for terrorism, murder, rock-throwing, or
violence of any kind ought to be subjected to stiff laws designed to counteract such incitement. The promoters and
promulgators of terrorism need to feel the full brunt of the law: media outlets should be shuttered, school curricula
rigorously monitored, and those advocating violence sentenced to harsh penalties involving long prison terms and
stringent prison conditions.
4) Defensive Training for All Citizens and Residents : The frequent helplessness of civilians can be combated by
instituting compulsory self-defense training for all Israeli citizens and residents beginning in adolescence with
unarmed martial arts and progressing to training in weapons use in early adulthood. Group courses in responding to
simulated terror attacks could realistically save lives. All women and men who do National Service instead of enlisting
in the IDF or Border Police should still possess the rudimentary skills necessary to defend their lives.
5) A Major Plan to Annihilate Terror Armies : Hamas, Islamic Jihad, Hezbollah, and other murder syndicates are
perched on Israel’s borders, armed to the teeth, and ready to unleash at their pleasure. Terrorists need to have the
earth quake beneath their feet, to be forever unsure of their footing. As a priority, the IDF must conceive of and
execute a strategic plan for eradicating, root and branch, the terrorist thugs sitting pretty on Israel’s borders. Targeted
killings of terror leaders only lead to promotions in terrorist ranks. Instead, the entire organizations must be
methodically uprooted, not merely decimated but destroyed to a man, top-to-bottom, inside out. No more band-aid
“operations” to restore “quiet” are needed; they do not do the job of ending terrorism and fall woefully short of any
meaningful change. Only wholesale obliteration of terrorist gangs, Sri Lanka-style, will bring long-term results. Such a
prolonged campaign should not be televised or broadcasted in any way, shape, or form, and UN ticking clocks or
resolutions must be resolutely ignored. Only when the job is done decisively and with finality should Israel’s
defenders stand down.
Palestinian Arabs regularly clear their schedules for a satisfying Day of Rage; Israelis should regularly clear their
heads for a salutary Moment of Clarity.
It would be a historic tragedy for the Jewish People to squander the miracle of the State of Israel. With the way things
are going, though, Israel is fixedly on course toward garnering the inglorious epitaph of “Death by Excessive
Restraint”.
By holding Palestinian Arabs to no standard, let alone low standards, the world infantilizes them. But the hypocritical
world can afford to do so, because its nations do not have to experience Palestinian Arabs as neighbors and suffer
from their murderous psychosis. Israel cannot afford the luxury of holding the Palestinian Arabs unaccountable.
Meekness in the face of aggressive terrorism kills. It is immoderate and unreasonable to assist your enemies in their
work of destroying you, to understate. An active and determined approach to counter-terrorism must resurface amid
Israel’s polity and society; the bleeding season will otherwise become a permanent period.
Besides, the State of Israel has more than enough admirals of appeasement, captains of capitulation, and sergeants
of surrender. What it desperately needs are mature leaders who understand the necessity of a firm hand in times of
terror, and who are unafraid to act accordingly. If Israel’s leaders cannot protect Jews, then who can?

Growing Pains: Multicultural Explosion Rattles Residents
Take a good look at the scope and breadth of the ethnic and racial diversity in Northern Virginia, where students from
up to 200 countries populate local schools.
Your community–and your schools–will look a lot like this within the next three decades.
The three fast-growing Virginia counties nestled near the nation’s capital–Fairfax, Arlington and Prince William–are at
the leading edge of a diversity explosion sweeping the USA. Hundreds of thousands of Hispanics and Asians have
moved to the area since the 1990s and account for 32% of the 1.8 million people in the three counties, triple the
number in 1990. Blacks account for another 12%, and multirace residents, 1%.
But this rapid growth in diversity hasn’t arrived without consequences or controversy. Residents have been grappling
with everything from a controversial policy to stop illegal immigration in Prince William to a housing squeeze that has
pushed thousands of minority families out of Arlington. Fairfax wrestles with finding the funds to teach ever more
students who are poorer and need added language training.
{snip}
On the plus side, multiethnic families are boosting the regional economy by buying homes, opening businesses and
shopping locally. They bring a richness of language, tradition and food that are evident in local shopping centers
where African fufu–pounded yams, cassava or plaintains–can be had alongside Salvadoran pupusas–corn or rice
tortillas stuffed with cheese, meat and beans–and Vietnamese pho, a noodle soup.
USA TODAY used Census data to calculate the chance that two random people are different by race or ethnicity and
came up with a Diversity Index to place every county on a scale of 0 to 100. The nationwide Index reached 55 in
2010, up sharply from 20 in 1960 and 40 as recently as 1990.
All three of the Virginia counties topped the national average. In Fairfax, the index is 64; in Prince William, 69. In
Arlington, it dipped to 55 in 2010 as some minorities relocated. It was the only county in Northern Virginia to drop.
The diversity boom here started in earnest in the 1980s when conflicts abroad, from civil war in El Salvador to a
Soviet occupation of Afghanistan, led a wave of immigrants to the USA. The number of foreign-born residents in
Northern Virginia rose from 177,000 in 1990 to 463,000 in 2010–27% of the region’s population.
And many of them are highly educated minorities, particularly Asians. Almost 10% of adults in the three counties
speak an Asian language at home and have at least a bachelor’s degree and, in many cases, a high-paying job.
And those “highly educated, high-paying jobs also bring low-paying jobs because you need people to clean homes,
take care of children, mow the lawn, these things come in tandem,” says the University of Virginia’s Cai.
So the new immigrants stayed. And had families. And more friends and relatives followed them. And they stayed,
leading to a wide range of repercussions.
Fassil Berhe began noticing the trend five years ago: affordable apartments were being renovated or knocked down
to make way for expensive luxury units.
He’d been in Arlington since 2000, hoping it would be the last stop in a journey that began when he fled civil disorder
in his native Ethiopia in the late 1980s.
{snip}
Berhe was making about $40,000 as a cab driver and his wife worked a minimum-wage retail job. So the family
moved to nearby Fairfax County, where rents were cheaper.
Berhe’s family is typical of the one-in-five Hispanic and black households that move out of Arlington because it is too
expensive, according to the county. Average rents have nearly doubled from $1,000 in 2000 to $1,900 in 2013.
The people feeling it most are blacks and Hispanics, who have much lower incomes. Black households in Arlington
have a median income of $59,200; Hispanics, $62,500; and whites who are not Hispanic, $116,800.
{snip}
The housing problem came to the fore in the late 1990s when a post-World War II housing complex called Arna
Valley, home to 3,000 mostly Hispanic immigrants, was torn down. In its place came new luxury apartments.
And the trend continued as more high-rises and expensive townhouses went up. Wealthy, white 25- to 34-year-olds
moved in and more blacks and Hispanics moved out. Census data show the combined black and Hispanic population
shrank 7% from 2000 to 2010. The ranks of non-Hispanic whites grew by 16%.
The result is “a housing crisis,” says Mary Rouleau, executive director of the Alliance for Housing Solutions, an
education and advocacy group in the county.
County officials are offering tax breaks for developers who include more affordable apartments for families making
$82,000 or less. The county also has a $12.5 million fund to build or renovate affordable apartments.
“We need to let people who are low-income have at least a chance to live in our community,” says J. Walter Tejada, a
member of the Arlington County Board, who fought unsuccessfully to keep the affordable units in Arna Valley.
The county’s efforts have fallen short so far. Between 2000 and 2013, the county’s affordable housing program
created fewer than 3,000 units. The county lost 15,000 units during the same time.
“It’s a losing battle,” says Rolf Pendall, director of the Urban Institute’s Metropolitan Housing and Communities Policy
Center. “And it’s true all over the region.”
“If you want to see what the future of the U.S. will look like, come to any elementary school in Fairfax County,” says
Ted Velkoff, a member of the Fairfax County School Board.
Weyanoke Elementary on the eastern edge of the county stands out. Located in one of the county’s most diverse
neighborhoods, the school of 500 kindergartners through fifth-graders is made up of 15% Asian students, 30% black,
45% Hispanic and 8% white–and their families hail from 43 countries.
{snip}
That diversity is reflected in Stacey Callaman’s second-grade class at Weyanoke. Almost all of her 21 students–like
65% of the school–don’t speak English as their primary language at home. That changes how she and her colleagues
teach. She uses more visual aids and spends more time explaining concepts that are foreign to many students, such
as what a prairie is or how farms work.
{snip}
But that costs money. The district spends $3,454 for each student in its English for Speakers of Other Languages
(ESOL) program, which totaled $66 million in fiscal year 2014. At Weyanoke, almost eight of every 10 students
qualify for free and reduced meals.
Over the past eight years, the school district’s enrollment has grown by 20,000, most of them children from diverse
ethnic and racial backgrounds. The district plans to add five elementary schools over the next five years.
The district faced a $190 million budget gap this year that it closed with $100 million in cuts and last-minute increases
from the county Board of Supervisors. The district has no taxing power, so it relies on the state and county for
funding.
It helps that Fairfax is one of the richest counties in the USA with a median household income of $109,000.

November 10, 2014: Perspective
I must start with the breaking news, all of it obscenely ugly, before I go to what I had intended to write today:
A young woman, as yet unidentified, has been killed near the entrance to Alon Shvut in Gush Etzion – just meters
away from where the three students were kidnapped this summer. Two others with her were wounded.
The terrorist - Maher al-Hashlamun, of Hevron, a released prisoner with Hamas associations - tried to get his victims
by hitting them with his car first, and when he failed, he got out of the car and came at them with a knife. He was been
shot by the guard at the entrance to Alon Shvut. I believe he died on the way to the hospital.

~~~~~~~~~~
This attack followed by only hours a terrorist attack on a soldier, also unidentified as yet, near a train station on
Levinsky Street in Tel Aviv. The assailant tried to grab the soldier’s gun and failed. He then came at him with a knife,
stabbing him so many times, according to a medic, that it was impossible to count the wounds. He is in critical
condition and undergoing surgery in Tel Hashomer hospital.
The terrorist in this instance, Nur al-Din, is a resident of the
Askar refugee camp; reportedly he has Hamas associations,
and was in Israel illegally. He tried to flee the scene but was
apprehended by a bystander and is in police custody.
~~~~~~~~~~
Much more will follow on these two stories, but now I want to try
to pick up on the theme I had intended for today’s posting:
looking at the Temple Mount issue from a somewhat different
angle. I believe the connections will become apparent.
Please! read through to the end.
I recently wrote about the fact that King Abdullah of Jordan has been threatening to break Jordan’s peace treaty with
Israel because of changes on the Temple Mount. And on the surface this does seem to be what’s going on: the
Jordanian ambassador to Israel was recalled for consultations last week, and now this week the king has given word
to Jordanian officials that they are not to participate in what had been planned as a joint Jordan-Israel event honoring
the 20th anniversary of the treaty.
But...as I previously indicated, there is more here than meets the eye – some solid ties with Jordan exist, ties that
Jordan would prefer not be promoted broadly. See what Robert Satloff wrote about the Israeli-Jordanian peace treaty
- which he considers a “remarkable” document compared with the earlier Israeli-Egyptian peace treaty – shortly after
it was signed:
“In the Jordan-Israel treaty, the concept of ‘partnership’ replaces the emphasis on ‘respect,’ while ‘cooperation’
replaces the focus on ‘security’...the peace treaty speaks only of an era of peace and joint efforts. Its contents are
filled with mature, creative, and principled solutions to common problems; its detailed annexes focus not on security
issues but on innovative ways to reconcile ‘Israeli private ownership rights within Jordanian sovereignty’ and to find
compromise solutions to the problem of water resources.”
http://www.meforum.org/240/the-jordan-israel-peace-treaty
~~~~~~~~~~
I wouldn’t say that the Israeli-Jordanian relationship has quite fulfilled the optimistic projections of Satloff that we
would see a warm peace. But the point that Israel and Jordan have common concerns and a basis for genuine
cooperation is very valid. There are other areas of cooperation, but key is cooperative agreements regarding water. A
joint Israeli-Jordanian Water Committee was formed; Israel agreed to supply Jordan with 50 million cubic meters of
water per year, and allocate to Jordan 75% of the water from the Yarmouk River.
This is a matter of great significance for Jordan: I have been advised that Jordan “cannot” break the treaty because of
its dependence on the water.
And, indeed, Abdullah Ensour, Prime Minister of Jordan, yesterday let it be known that Jordan was committed to the
peace treaty and was not currently considering withdrawing from it.
Credit: AP
~~~~~~~~~~
We need, then, to take a closer look at what is going on. And the first
question to be asked is why – as there was cooperation between Israel
and Jordan even before the peace treaty was drafted – it was deemed
appropriate or necessary to advance the formal treaty in 1994. (See
the picture below, which reflects a warm interaction between Prime
Minister Yitzhak Rabin and King Hussein of Jordan, at the signing on
October 26, 1994.)
Credit: Reuters
The answer is very enlightening. Israel had already signed the
Oslo Accords with the Palestinian Arabs, and was, in theory,
negotiating a final status agreement. The Wakf (Muslim Trust) on
the Temple Mount had been Jordanian, but Jordan was afraid that,
were there to be a peace treaty between Israel and the PA, it
would be the PA that would be accorded priority on matters
involving the Mount.
To preclude this eventuality, Jordan signed a peace treaty that
acknowledged Jordan’s special status on the Mount.
Ah...
~~~~~~~~~~
Abdullah, king of Jordan, sits on his throne these days with great unease. The Hashemites have always been a
minority in the kingdom: until recently, Palestinian Arabs constituted the majority. Now this situation has shifted
because of huge numbers of refugees from Syria and Iraq. But in Amman, there is still a Palestinian Arab majority
that makes Abdullah very uncomfortable indeed. Thus said, it is clear that he cannot risk the ire of the Palestinian
Arabs in his country. To support Israel, to agree to changes on the Mount, would do precisely that. He must at all
points seem to be taking a strong and critical stance with Israel.
This then is how I see the situation.
The prevailing wisdom here says that Netanyahu has agreed to maintain the status quo on the Mount so as to not risk
the Israeli-Jordanian peace treaty. But I would frame it differently. I would say that he has insisted on maintaining the
status quo so to avoid creating a situation that might cause Jordan’s monarch to fall, and allow Palestinian Arabs,
Syrians, and Iraqis – many of whom are radical, jihadi - to come to the fore. To act in a way that foments this would
not be in Israel’s best interest.
I fervently believe in the right of Jews to pray on the Temple Mount and I believe the day will come when we will. But I
also believe that to push it at this moment in time would be counterproductive.
~~~~~~~~~~
It is worth considering a couple of very different attitudes between the Jordanians and the Palestinian Arabs with
regard to the Mount:
Jordan claims the right to manage the Mount, but is not calling for Jordanian sovereignty there. The Palestinian Arabs
indeed do call for sovereignty there: They say Israel must move back behind the ‘67 armistice line, which would leave
the Mount totally in their hands.
Jordan says that while Jews cannot pray on the Mount, they can be there. Abbas has come out saying that Jews
have no place there at all.
There must be different policies, then, with regard to how Israel responds to Jordan and to the Palestinian Authority.
The enemy is the PA, and this must be said unequivocally and boldly. I have written about how we must stand strong
for who we are, and I believe it is against the Palestinian Authority – against Abbas and his cohort – that we must
focus.
~~~~~~~~~~
What is needed is a very pointed exposure of the horrendous incitement of the PA – an incitement that has caused
Jewish deaths.
Fatah, the party of Mahmoud Abbas, blatantly promotes terrorism on its Facebook page. This cartoon is from Fatah’s
official page:
The main Fatah page of FB just days ago had the post:
"Run over, friend, run over the foreign settler!"
Another said: “The Jews are defiling Al-Aqsa - will you
not rage??"
Abbas himself wrote a condolence letter to the family of
the terrorist who attempted to kill Yehuda Glick. In it he
described the terrorist as a “Shahid” - a Martyr who
“rose to Heaven while defending our people’s rights
and holy places.”
The PA National Security Forces posted a cartoon
depicting Israel as about to rape the Al Aksa Mosque,
represented by a woman.
You can see all of this and more on the Palestinian Media Watch site: http://www.palwatch.org/
Perhaps worst is this song, which has become a big hit on Palestinian Arab social media, and is fueled by the
charges of Abbas:
“Run [them] over, destroy, annihilate, blow them up; don’t let the Zionist live long.
"O Al-Aqsa, we’re your defenders O son of Jerusalem, cry 'Allah is great!'
“Wait for them at the intersection. Let the settler drown in red blood. Terrorize them.”
~~~~~~~~~~
We have a huge task in front of us, here in Israel, in order to eliminate the murderous scourge that confronts us. We
are very angry, and I believe we will. I will follow with reports on the situation over time.
Today, Netanyahu said:
“We will fight incitement led by the Palestinian Authority...To all the demonstrators who have rallied against the state
and for the Palestinian Authority, I want to say one thing: you are welcome to move out...for those who remain – we
will make life difficult for the rioters and terrorists.
"I have instructed that the full severity of the law be enforced, including the demolitions of terrorists' homes and other
measures..."
http://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/187277#.VGDTCJtxnIU
This is a mere beginning.
~~~~~~~~~~
But each of you can act on behalf of Israel now, as well.
First, please! publicize the incitement of the PA. The world does not know, or choses not to know.
Put out calls in a variety of venues for the Palestinian delegation to be kicked out of the UN until the incitement to kill
Jews ceases. Demand that the US stop providing funds to the PA until the calls to kill Jews stop. (With thanks to Ruth
Lieberman here.)
You know the drill: Write letters to the editors of your papers, submit op-eds, post this information on your Facebook
pages.
~~~~~~~~~~
I have not yet addressed the vile and immoral silence of the world on this, and will come back to it.

Greg Abbott puts Obama on warning: Texas will sue if you cross
the line to executive order amnesty
Joe
Saunders
The incoming governor of Texas delivered a stern warning to President Obama via Fox News on Monday, declaring
any executive order on illegal aliens would produce a “tremendous backlash” across the country – not to mention
another lawsuit from the Lone Star State.
In an interview, Gov.-elect Greg Abbott, the current attorney general, said Texas Obama’s frequent vows to invoke
questionable executive power to change immigration law have forced Texans to prepare for yet another “surge” of
illegals crossing from the south.
Texas has shouldered considerable expense dealing with the problem of illegal immigration that’s being worsened by
the White House, Abbott said, and one horn of any lawsuit would be getting the federal government to pay for
problems it’s causing.
But he said the larger point is that immigration laws are made by the country from Capitol Hill, not the White House.
“We’re expecting the White House will not cross the line,” he said. “If the president crosses the line, he’s going to see
an overwhelming rejection of what he’s trying to do.”
Both the House and the newly Republican Senate will be pushing back against amnesty, Abbott said, and he
predicted a “tremendous backlash” among Americans as a whole. Even Hispanics in Texas, he said, support a
sensible immigration law that concentrates on border security.
“The first step is to secure the border,” he said. “As long as the president is inviting people to come here illegally, we
will never see a secure border.”

Report: Border Patrol Stripping Agents Of Their M4 Rifles,
Will Now Have To Share Their Guns…
We can’t have these guys shooting the Dems base.
(KVOA) – The News 4 Tucson Investigators have uncovered that some U.S. Border Patrol agents have lost a
key part of their arsenal. And that has agents who patrol along the border here, extremely worried.
We learned that U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s Offices of Border Patrol and Training and
Development are inspecting the quality of agents’ M4 carbines throughout Border Patrol sectors nationwide.
But agents tell us, some of those M4s have not been replaced. And, we’ve learned, agents are required to
share rifles amongst each other.
“There’s a lot of agents that are pretty upset over it,” said Art del Cueto, president of the Border Patrol’s
Tucson Sector union. “We know it’s a dangerous job. We know what we signed on for but we want to have as
much of the equipment as we need to perform the job.”
The M4 carbine is used by the U.S. military and by Border Patrol agents. It’s even used by the Border
Patrol’s tactical unit, BORTAC. Agent Brian Terry was carrying the M4 when he was shot and killed in
December 2010.
Del Cueto tells us that because some of those M4s have not been replaced, agents are pooling their weapons,
which makes it difficult to personalize the settings on a rifle, such as the sights.
“The problem is they are now pool guns so what happens is instead of having their individual ones they have
sighted in they’re having to use a pool weapon that you don’t know who used it before you,” del Cueto said.

Despite Outcry of Opposition, Obama Pushes "Horrific" Trade
Deal in Asia
Though president once railed against so-called "free trade" agreements, he has now become outspoken champion of
secretive deals that critics call attack on democracy, workers, and the planet.
Jon Queally, staff writer

(TPP) trade deal at a rally in front of the prime minister's official residence in Tokyo on April 22, 2014, the day before
US President Barack Obama visits. Japan seeks to retain tariffs on five farm product categories, rice, wheat, beef
and pork, sugar, and dairy products, amid strong concern from the domestic agricultural industry. (Photo: AFP)
Despite consistent and vocal opposition from organized labor, environmentalists, progressive economy experts and
others warning against the damaging impacts of a trans-Pacific trade agreement that remains under negotiations by
the U.S. and twelve other nations, President Obama on Monday once again voiced his support for what he said
would be a "historic" agreement.
In Beijing for talks with his Chinese counterpart and to attend the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum,
Obama championed the so-called "free trade" deal, known as the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP), even though
critics have described the agreement as a "horrific" corporate giveaway that would further codify the undemocratic
mechanisms of global trade, breaking down protections for workers, consumers, and the planet's natural systems.
Though Obama ran for president in 2008 as a staunch opponent of similarly designed trade deals, including NAFTA,
since taking in office, he has forcefully pushed for the TPP and a similar deal with European nations, called the
Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP).
"This has the potential for being an historic agreement," Obama said of the TPP to heads-of-state and trade
commissioners at the APEC summit's opening session on Monday.
If approved, the TPP would be the world's largest economic trade agreement, encompassing more than 40 percent of
the world's GDP. Though China would not be party to the agreement, the TPP would cover the U.S., Canada and
Mexico in North America; Chile and Peru in South America; and Japan, Australia, Brunei Darussalam, Malaysia, New
Zealand, Singapore, and Vietnam in the Pacific-Asia region.
Though U.S. officials said no breathroughs or announcements were expected on the deal during this trip, the
president used the occasion to champion the aims of the TPP.
"What we are seeing," Obama told those in attendance, "is momentum building around a Trans-Pacific Partnership
that can spur greater economic growth, spur greater jobs growth, set high standards for trade and investment
throughout the Asia-Pacific."
Following last weeks mid-term elections in the U.S., some analysts argued that a Republican-controlled Congress—
which is generally friendlier to the corporate trade framework of such deals—is more likely to help Obama push
through the agreement. However, as Lori Wallach, director of the Public Citizen's Global Trade Watch, pointed out,
that calculation may be misplaced.
According to Public Citizen, the TPP would be a grab-bag of policies designed to empower corporate entities while
stripping the people of these twelve nations of self-determination and democratic process. According to the group:
Although it is called a "free trade" agreement, the TPP is not mainly about trade. Of TPP's 29 draft
chapters, only five deal with traditional trade issues. One chapter would provide incentives to offshore
jobs to low-wage countries. Many would impose limits on government policies that we rely on in our
daily lives for safe food, a clean environment, and more. Our domestic federal, state and local policies
would be required to comply with TPP rules.
The TPP would even elevate individual foreign firms to equal status with sovereign nations,
empowering them to privately enforce new rights and privileges, provided by the pact, by dragging
governments to foreign tribunals to challenge public interest policies that they claim frustrate their
expectations.

Obama’s Mental Health Screening in Schools Will ‘Disarm’ Gun
Rights: “Databases to Follow Academic Career and Beyond”
By Mac Slavo
November 11,
2014
Under the auspices of helping struggling school children to grapple
with complex emotions and mental health issues, students will be
screened not for their own benefit, but to further the aims of total
gun control.
The Obama executive orders written in the wake of the Sandy Hook
shooting introduced a number of policy-laws designed to mandate
mental health programs and screening, and include ‘gun talk’ as
part of the deal.
Funding for these programs has now followed suit.
WND reported:
Using “gun violence” as its cover, the Obama administration
has quietly unleashed a cache of federal dollars that will be used for testing students for signs of
mental health issues in K-12 schools.
Critics say personal information scooped up in the screenings will be logged into databases that will
follow the child throughout his or her academic career and beyond.
Public schools, which have increasingly taken on aspects of psychiatric clinics in recent years, will get
infused with more than $150 million in federal grants to further this agenda under the auspices of
Obama’s 2013 executive action titled “Now is the Time to Do Something About Gun Violence.”
And while it may initially sound reasonable to some, the influx of guidance counseling and mental health services is
designed to create a paranoid snitch culture inside the doctor-patient and counselor relationship to put a black mark
against potential future gun owners that may well haunt them.
On Sept. 22, Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Sylvia M. Burwell announced $99
million in new federal grants to school districts for mental health services. The money will be used “to
train new mental health providers, help teachers and others recognize mental health issues in youth
and connect them to help and increase access to mental health services for young people.”
[...] Both HHS and DOE cited Obama’s “Now is the Time” declaration as the basis for the new
programs.
Of the DOE’s $70 million package, $13 million is allocated to aiding school districts in creating “highquality school emergency plans.” Another $14 million goes toward “Project Prevent grants” for
violence-plagued schools to “be used for school-based counseling services, or referrals to communitybased counseling services for assistance in coping with trauma or anxiety.”
It is undoubtedly a net that will be used to disbar any number of children from their 2nd Amendment rights before they
even reach adulthood.
The latest case fueling that fire is the shooting in Marysville, Washington, which served to give its billionaire-backed
gun control ballot initiative a final boost of public support just ahead of the election. A Seattle Times staff editorial
argued for gun control initiative 594, and for restriction of gun rights due to “mental illness”:
Instead, I-594 represents a restatement of the compact gun owners have with society: The
fundamental right to keep and bear arms is not absolute.
Some members of society lose that right, due to mental illness or criminality, yet can easily buy firearms
via unregulated online gun bazaars.
And the goal posts keep moving down the field…
At the heart of the issues, however, “mental illness” is a very fragile and convoluted designation; whereas the rights of
the people should be as firm and solid as rocks and stone.
Yet, the same tactics are underway to strip fundamental rights from military veterans (and likely law enforcement, too)
as they deal with issues following their tours of duty and reentry into society. A PTSD diagnosis is becoming a scarlet
letter that will brand soldiers as unstable and no longer allowed to own firearms.
In 2012, Sen. Chuck Schumer introduced an amendment to the defense spending bill that would place “the names of
veterans deemed too mentally incompetent to handle their finances into the National Instant Criminal Background
Check System, which prohibits them from buying or owning firearms.”
Schumer said, “If you are a veteran or not and you have been judged to be mentally infirm, you should not have a
gun.”
Surely, there are plenty of cases of people too disturbed to take responsibility for any part of their life.
But how dangerously close are we to seeing mental health screening used to disenfranchise gun owners? Will
diagnosis or self-identification of depression in unrelated records be enough to fail background checks for firearms
purchase? Stress? Insomnia, etc.? What about records concerning the use of medical marijuana, alcoholism or
prescription drugs?
And what else, based on designations and categories, to preemptively intrude upon our rights?
One last thing: if mental illness is going to be the basis of so much of this, let’s be clear on who is the perpetrator of all
this insanity. Are we threatened by the instability of individuals, or of the State:
“It is no measure of health to be well adjusted to a profoundly sick society.” – Jiddu Krishnamurti
“Insanity is relative. It depends on who has who locked in what cage.” – Ray Bradbury
“Insanity – a perfectly rational adjustment to an insane world.” – R. D. Lang
“Our society is run by insane people for insane objectives. I think we’re being run by maniacs for
maniacal ends and I think I’m liable to be put away as insane for expressing that. That’s what’s insane
about it.” – John Lennon
“A time will come when the whole world will go mad. And to anyone who is not mad they will say: ‘You
are mad, for you are not like us.’” – Attributed to St. Anthony the Great
“Just look at us. Everything is backwards. Everything is upside down. Doctors destroy health, lawyers
destroy justice, universities destroy knowledge, governments destroy freedom, the major media
destroy information, and religion destroys spirituality.” – Michael Ellner

"Brink" of a New Cold War? Another Cold War Already Started? Is
McCain Brain Dead?
Former Soviet Union leader Mikhail Gorbachev warned on Saturday that the Ukraine crisis had brought the world to
the "Brink of a New Cold War ".
“The world is on the brink of a new cold war. Some say it has already begun,” said [Mikhail Gorbachev]
the 83-year-old former Kremlin chief in a sombre speech delivered in Berlin at an event to mark the
25th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall this weekend.
Mr Gorbachev accused the west, led by the US, of “triumphalism” after the fall of the Berlin Wall ended
Soviet dominance in eastern Europe.
Trust between Russia and the west had “collapsed” in the last few months, he said, highlighting the
damage done by the Ukraine crisis. He called for new initiatives to restore trust, including a lifting of
personal sanctions imposed by the US and the EU on top Russian officials in response to Moscow’s
actions in Ukraine.
Mr Gorbachev clearly sees the west as the culprit in the crisis, having given his unequivocal backing to
Mr Putin last week. He said, before arriving in Germany, that he was “absolutely convinced that Putin
protects Russia’s interests better than anyone else”.
New Cold War Already Started
Count me in the group that says it's blatantly obvious a new cold war has already begun.
Inane sanctions by the US and Europe led by President Obama and fueled by warmongering hype from Senator
John McCain and others provides sufficient evidence.
US Blowbacks and Russian Interests
The US once again is clueless when it comes to predicting global blowbacks to its inept foreign policy.
Gorbachev's statement he was “absolutely convinced that Putin protects Russia’s interests better than anyone else ”
is well beyond reproach.
The US is not interested one iota in other country's best interests.
Arguably, the US shouldn't be.
The other side of the coin should be equally easy to see: Other countries have a need to protect their vested interests.
And they will.
The US needs to understand that. It also needs to weigh the potential for blowbacks when it doesn't.
The blowbacks in Iraq, Ukraine, and Libya have been spectacular. Iran is on deck.
US Wakes Up Russian Bear
When the US meddled in the internal affairs of Ukraine, it woke up the Russian bear.
Threats to make Ukraine a member of NATO in spite of promises otherwise, then fomenting the overthrow of the prior
Ukrainian government led by Viktor Yanukovych was too much for Russia to take.
The US does not like the annexation of Crimea that followed or the resultant civil war that will break Ukraine in two,
although we helped cause those outcomes. (For further discussion, see Ukraine Split in Two; Expect Major Rebel
Advance).
Even though the overthrow of Yanukovych was unconstitutional and the ensuing election a complete sham, the US
accepted that vote. The US does not accept the vote in Crimea or the more recent rebel vote in Donetsk, labeling
them "unconstitutional".
Why? The former suits US interests but the latter doesn't. That's all you need to know.
Fool's Mission to Teach Russia a Lesson
In a fool's mission to "teach Russia a lesson", the US initiated sanctions on Russia, then persuaded fools in Europe to
go along. The fact of the matter is sanctions don't work.
Ironically, it was Russia who taught the US a lesson (except the US was too stupid to learn from it).
Sanctions Do Four Things (All Bad)
1. Cause a collapse in trade harming both sides
2. Cause retaliations, harming both sides
3. Cause public sentiment for the leader of the sanctioned country to rise
4. Increase the likelihood of war if economic pressures rise high enough
Is McCain Brain Dead?
McCain wants to send missiles to Eastern Europe and arms to Ukraine. And in spite of the complete foolishness of
sanctions, he wants to increase them on Russia.
Besides wasting taxpayer money for the benefit of McCain's defense industry cronies, what good would any of that
do? Would it increase or decrease the odds of war?
Is McCain simply too brain-dead to figure out sending missiles to Europe and weapons to Ukraine is a bad idea?
Another possibility is that McCain simply does not care. A third possibility is McCain knows what he is doing and wants
more wars regardless of cost.
I lean towards the idea that McCain is brain-dead, perhaps a result of captivity in Vietnam, but the question is
certainly debatable.
Whatever your answer, Prepare for War: Obama Asks Congress for ISIS War Authorization; Republican Hawks Have
War Plan Prepared.

Another Example of Liberals Hating Freedom of Expression
Gary DeMar
3 hours
ago
Liberalism use the language of freedom of expression and tolerance to gain entry into the political and judicial process
only to slam the door shut behind them once they get in.
We’re seeing this take place on an almost daily basis over the issue of homosexual marriage.
Liberals had no problem drumming out the CEO of Mozilla because he supported California’s Proposition 8 which the
majority of California voters approved, and yet praised the coming out of Apple’s CEO Tim Cook who called same-sex
sexuality a “gift from god.” Although, he never did say which god he was drawing on for support.
Tolerance is a one-way street among liberals. They can beat the drum of toleration all day long as long as their
agenda is being played. Liberals approve of freedom of expression only when what's expressed is something they
agree with.
Anybody who disagrees with them is not granted the same toleration status.
Here’s the latest example of a couple being fined thousands of dollars for holding to a personal belief about a sex act
which could apply to adultery, polygamy, or marriage to animals and movements like weddings with a white
supremacy or KKK theme:
“The New York state government has fined Cynthia and Robert Gifford, the owners of Liberty Ridge Farm, $13,000
because they refused to hold a same-sex wedding ceremony on their property.
“Two lesbians, Melisa Erwin and Jennifer McCarthy, filed a formal complaint with the state Division of Human Rights,
prompting Judge Migdalia Pares to rule that the farm was a ‘public accommodation.’ Pares ordered the Giffords to
pay a $10,000 fine to the state and two payments of $1,500, one for Erwin and one for McCarthy.
“The issue began when Erwin called Cynthia Gifford to ask about holding a wedding there. Gifford replied that the
farm did not hold same-sex weddings, unaware that McCarthy was surreptitiously taping the conversation.
“The Giffords’ farm is in upstate Schaghticoke, near Albany. They have resided there for 25 years, raising a son, now
21, and a daughter, 17. The Giffords opened their farm for events 15 years ago, allowing receptions of all kinds on
their property, including same-sex receptions, just not same-sex weddings.”
These homosexuals weren’t just picking a venue. They were forcing their view of sexuality on the Giffords. The
couple could have gone elsewhere, but they purposely chose the Giffords in order to persecute and prosecute them.
So much for tolerance. This Liberal Logic image captures the blatant hypocrisy of liberalism and the Gestapo-like
tactics of many in the homosexual movement:

Must Read! Putin Signs Secret Pact to Crush NATO
Trevor Loudon
New Zeal
Moscow’s long term strategy to take down the United States and achieve world domination is nearing its final phase.
Marin Katusa’s new book The Colder War is a must read for anyone who values liberty and the remnants of Western
Values.
Katusa focuses on the Energy and Financial Wars, but unfortunately these are only the beginning. The Russians and
Chinese plan to destroy the Western Alliance, then if necessary launch a nuclear surprise attack on America, followed
by Chinese occupation of the continental US in the longer term.
It is also important to realize that Putin is merely a puppet for the real rulers of Russia – the old KGB/Communist
Party hierarchy. Just as every Soviet/Russian leader since Stalin, Putin is merely playing out his assigned role.
Can we stop the Moscow/Beijing/Tehran Axis? If America goes down, the entire West will fall.
Marin Katusa has done us all a very valuable service, with this timely warning.
From Casey Research:
Marin Katusa, Chief Energy Investment Strategist
Back on September 11 and 12, there was a summit meeting in a
city that involved an organization that most Americans have
never heard of. Mainstream media coverage was all but
nonexistent.
The place was Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan, a country few
Westerners could correctly place on a map.
But you can bet your last ruble that Vladimir Putin knows exactly
where Tajikistan is. Because the group that met there is the
Russian president’s baby. It’s the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), consisting of six member states:
Russia, China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.
The SCO was founded in 2001, ostensibly to collectively oppose extremism and enhance border security. But its real
reason for being is larger. Putin sees it in a broad context, as a counterweight to NATO (a position that the SCO
doesn’t deny, by the way). Its official stance may be to pledge nonalignment, nonconfrontation, and noninterference in
other countries’ affairs, but—pointedly—the members do conduct joint military exercises.
Why should we care about this meeting in the middle of nowhere? Well, obviously, anything that Russia and China
propose to do together warrants our attention. But there’s a whole lot more to the story.
Since the SCO’s inception, Russia has been treading somewhat softly, not wanting the group to become a possible
stalking horse for Chinese expansion into what it considers its own strategic backyard, Central Asia. But at the same
time, Putin has been making new friends around the world as fast as he can. If he is to challenge US global
hegemony—a proposition that I examine in detail in my new book, The Colder War—he will need as many alliances
as he can forge.
Many observers had been predicting that the Dushanbe meeting would be historic. The expectation was that the
organization would open up to new members. However, expansion was tabled in order to concentrate on the situation
in Ukraine. Members predictably backed the Russian position and voiced support for continuing talks in the country.
They hailed the Minsk cease-fire agreement and lauded the Russian president’s achievement of a peace initiative.
However, the idea of adding new members was hardly forgotten. There are other countries which have been actively
seeking to join for years. Now, with the rotating chairmanship of the organization passing to Moscow—and with the
next summit scheduled for July 2015 in Ufa, Russia—conditions could favor the organization’s expansion process
truly taking shape by next summer, says Putin.
To that end, the participants in Dushanbe signed documents that addressed the relevant issues: a “Model
Memorandum on the Obligations of Applicant States for Obtaining SCO Member State Status,” and “On the
Procedure for Granting the Status of the SCO Member States.”
This is extremely important, both to Russia and the West, because two of the nations clamoring for inclusion loom
large in geopolitics: India and Pakistan. And waiting in the wings is yet another major player—Iran.
In explaining the putting off of a vote on admittance for those countries, Putin’s presidential aide Yuri Ushakov was
candid. He told Russian media that expansion at this moment is still premature, due to potential difficulties stemming
from the well-known acrimony between India and China, and India and Pakistan, as well as the Western sanctions
against Iran. These conflicts could serve to weaken the alliance, and that’s something Russia wants to avoid.
Bringing longtime antagonists to the same table is going to require some delicate diplomatic maneuvering, but that’s
not something Putin has ever shied away from. (Who else has managed to maintain cordial relationships with both
Iran and Israel?)
As always, Putin is not thinking small or short term here. Among the priorities he’s laid out for the Russian
chairmanship are: beefing up the role of the SCO in providing regional security; launching major multilateral
economic projects; enhancing cultural and humanitarian ties between member nations; and designing
comprehensive approaches to current global problems. He is also preparing an SCO development strategy for the
2015-2025 period and believes it will be ready by the time of the next summit.
We should care what’s going on inside the SCO. Once India and Pakistan get in (and they will) and Iran follows
shortly thereafter, it’ll be a geopolitical game changer.
Putin is taking a leadership role in the creation of an international alliance among four of the ten most populous
countries on the planet—its combined population constitutes over 40% of the world’s total, just short of 3 billion
people. It encompasses the two fastest-growing global economies. Adding Iran means its members would control
over half of all natural gas reserves. Development of Asian pipeline networks would boost the nations of the region
economically and tie them more closely together.
If Putin has his way, the SCO could not only rival NATO, it could fashion a new financial structure that directly
competes with the IMF and World Bank. The New Development Bank (FKA the BRICS Bank), created this past
summer in Brazil, was a first step in that direction. And that could lead to the dethroning of the US dollar as the
world’s reserve currency, with dire consequences for the American economy.
As I argue in The Colder War, I believe that this is Putin’s ultimate aim: to stage an assault on the dollar that brings
the US down to the level of just one ordinary nation among many… and in the process, to elevate his motherland to
the most exalted status possible.
What happened in Tajikistan this year and what will happen in Ufa next summer—these things matter. A lot.
Perhaps no one knows how dangerous Vladimir Putin is and how much he controls the flow of capital in the global
energy trade than author of The Colder War, Marin Katusa.
Marin stakes millions on his deep knowledge of energy and politics. And as a result, his hedge funds have
outperformed the TSXV index by 6-fold over the past 5 years. To discover everything Putin is planning and how it will
directly affect you, click here to get a copy of Marin’s brand new book, The Colder War.

Militarized Vehicles Needed to Deal With “Anti-Government”
Groups » Print

In an article for popular law enforcement website PoliceOne.com, Officer Steve Rabinovich writes that the
controversial use of militarized vehicles in domestic law enforcement situations is necessary to deal with the threat
posed by “anti-government groups.”
Rabinovich boasts an impressive list of credentials, with his assignments including Emergency Response Team,
Crisis Intervention, ERU, Mounted and dignitary details. Rabinovich also teaches other police and emergency
medical responders at his state’s technical college system.
Acknowledging that law enforcement bodies have received “criticisms from their communities” for utilizing the
Department of Defense’s 1033 Program to acquire militarized vehicles previously used to hunt insurgents in Iraq and
Afghanistan, Rabinovich cites domestic terrorism and “a steady increase in deadly and violent assaults on cops” as
good reasons for police departments acquiring MRAPs and other military gear.
Rabinovich also points to “violent anti-government groups and individuals” who are “targeting cops as
scapegoats” as another factor that justifies the use of militarized vehicles.
At no point does Rabinovich cite any actual studies showing violence against cops is on the increase, nor does he
provide an example of any “anti-government group” that has launched a violent attack on police officers.
“The American law enforcement officer is expected to be able to work problems ranging from a traffic stop, noise
complaint, or a domestic, to a terrorist act, mass murderer, or natural disaster. While your local town may or may not
respond to terrorists planting explosives during a mass gathering event, a barricaded gunman or hostage situation is
quite plausible scenario, and tools such as an MRAP will prove indispensable when that time comes,” writes
Rabinovich.
“Police work isn’t becoming increasingly dangerous, even with the supposed corresponding uptick in “domestic and
international terrorism,” points out the MassPrivateI blog. “Rabinovich must know this assertion won’t hold up
because he adds the ridiculous claim that attacks on cops are ignored by much of the media or never reported at all.
The exact opposite is the truth. In addition, the number of officers killed or wounded by civilians is a stat tracked by
nearly every law enforcement agency. Civilians killed or wounded by police officers are stats tracked by amateurs,
despite the fact that the DoJ has ordered these numbers to be reported annually — an order that has been mostly
ignored for the last thirteen years.”
As we have exhaustively documented, many see the growing militarization of domestic police departments as a clear
signal that law enforcement increasingly views the American people as a threat, with Indiana Police Sergeant Dan
Downing admitting earlier this year that the increasing militarization of domestic police departments is partly to deal
with returning veterans who are now seen as a homegrown terror threat.
During the height of the Ferguson unrest earlier this summer, MSNBC host Ed Schultz opined that such militarized
equipment and vehicles was needed to deal with “anti-government” groups, while former Marine Paul Szoldra offered
a different view, warning that scenes in Ferguson illustrated the “terrifying” result of the militarization of police, with
the American people now being treated like insurgents in Afghanistan and Iraq.
Former Marine Corps Colonel Peter Martino, who was stationed in Fallujah and trained Iraqi soldiers, warned last
year that the Department of Homeland Security is working with law enforcement to build a “domestic army,” because
the federal government is afraid of its own citizens.
Martino was speaking at a council meeting concerning a decision to purchase a BearCat armored vehicle. The
purchase of the vehicle was mired in controversy after the city’s Police Chief wrote in an application filing to the DHS
that the vehicle was needed to deal with the “threat” posed by libertarians, sovereign citizen adherents, and Occupy
activists in the region.

Invasion Of America Continues – Obama Extends Chinese Visas To
Ten Years
Posted on 11 November, 2014 by Rick Wells
In the conduct of his never-ending drive to turn the United States into nothing more than a spot on the international
map of socialist nations, Hussein Obama chose to make an announcement on his visit to China that is just the latest
assault in a series against our national sovereignty.
Clearly Obama doesn’t work for the American people; we’ve known that since before he took his first lying breaths as
America’s chief executive in swearing to uphold the Constitution. He has now shown that he works not only for Arab
interests in the Middle East, but for the wealthy Chinese as well.
There were likely no patriotic Americans who knew this sellout was in the offing or we would have heard about it
somewhere other than on television from a foreign country, the one he is benefiting with his latest giveaway of
America. He was probably well advised to choose that overseas venue. It was surely better received there than it will
be here, but the sellout communist is going to have some explaining to do when he gets back to the U.S.
In making the announcement, Obama said, “I am very pleased to announce that during my visit the United States and
China have agreed to implement a new arrangement for visas that will benefit everyone from students to tourists to
businesses larger and small. Under the current arrangement visas between our two countries last for only one year.
Under the new arrangement, student and exchange visas will be extended to five years. Business and tourist visas will
be extended to ten years.”
Clearly there is no form of amnesty, foreign occupation of the United States or effort to minimize American
exceptionalism that Hussein Obama isn’t enamored with.
What the heck is a ten-year tourist or a ten year business trip? They are nothing short of stealth authorizations to work
and live in the United States. Even if work permits are not a component of the initial rollout, we can be certain that
those Chinese businesses that set up in America will be hiring their countrymen. So will the big tech companies and
others seeking lower wage skilled labor. If the mechanisms aren’t already in place, they soon will be.
We can be sure that the big money interests that have been pushing for H1-B foreign workers will now simply draw
from the new and utterly ridiculous category of “ten year tourists.”
The big money that corporate America invested in Obama was certainly well-spent and those interests must be thrilled.
But Obama’s not finished yet. He’s got treaties that are far worse, much longer and more complex to try to shove
down the throats of the American people before they realize what’s happened. He’s just getting started.
America would be well-served if Obama just stayed in China. Maybe they’ll give him a ten year visa, effective
immediately, make it twenty. Then again, they probably don’t want people like him in their country either.

The U.S. State Department Is At War...With Israel
When it comes to hatred and hypocrisy it's business as usual where Israel's concerned when it comes to the U.S.
State Department, which has become a willing tool of the Obama Administration to discredit and demonize Israel. And
that was clearly demonstrated today in the exchanges below.
Last Week, U.S Chief of Staff General Martin
Donovan made a speech about Israel and the
Gaza War that went pretty far off the Obama
Regime's reservation. He not only praised the
IDF for their efforts to avoid civilian
casualties, saying that Israel had gone to
“extraordinary lengths” in Gaza, but revealed
that the U.S. Armed Forces had sent a
delegation to learn about the IDF's policies to
help Americans to improve their own record in
wartime.
This directly contradicted the State Department
and the White House, whose stated position was
to attack Israel at every opportunity for not doing
enough to avoid civilian casualties.
When former Obama campaign flack turned State Department Spokesperson Jen Psaki was questioned about this
by Matt Lee at the AP of all places, the exchange revealed quite a bit:
MATT LEE, ASSOCIATED PRESS: Yesterday, the ICC made its decision that there was no case to prosecute for war
crimes in Gaza. But also yesterday – and you spoke about that very briefly here. But also yesterday, General
Dempsey, who is no slouch when it comes to military things, told an audience in New York that the Israelis went to
extraordinary lengths to limit collateral damage during the Gaza war. And I’m puzzled, because I thought it was the
position of the Administration – or maybe it was just the position of the State Department and the White House – that
Israel was not doing enough to live up to its – what you called its own high standards. Back on August 3rd, there was
the statement you put out after the UNRWA school incident, saying that the U.S. “is appalled by today’s disgraceful
shelling.” And that was some pretty fierce criticism. How do you reconcile these two apparent divergent points of
view? When this statement came out, the United States was appalled? Did that just mean the State Department was
appalled?
JEN PSAKI, STATE DEPARTMENT: No, that is the position of the Administration; it remains the position of the
Administration. As we made clear throughout the summer’s conflict, we supported Israel’s right to self-defense and
strongly condemned Hamas’s rocket attacks that deliberately targeted civilians, and the use of tunnels, of course, of
attacks into Israel. However, we also expressed deep concern and heartbreak for the civilian death toll in Gaza and
made clear, as you noted in the statement you pointed to, that we believed that Israel could have done more to
prevent civilian casualties, and it was important that they held their selves to a high standard. So that remains our
view and position about this summer’s events.
LEE: Okay. But I’m still confused as to how you can reconcile the fact that the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff –
who knows a bit about how military operations work, I would venture to guess; I don’t know him, but I assume that he
wouldn’t be chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff if he was – if he didn’t –
MS. PSAKI: Correct.
LEE: — says that the Israelis essentially did the best that they could and lived up to – by extension lived up to their
high standards by taking – by going to, quote, “extraordinary lengths” to limit the collateral damage.
MS. PSAKI: Well, I would point you to the chairman’s team for his – more specifics on his comments. But it remains
the broad view of the entire Administration that they could have done more and they should have taken more – all
feasible precautions to prevent civilian casualties.
It gets even worse.
There were two terrorist murders in Israel today, one by an Arab who entered the country illegally and attacked and
knifed to death a young airman, Almog Shiloni, 20,(HY"D) as he was waiting at the Haganah train station in south Tel
Aviv and a second one by an Islamic Jihad operative whom Israel had freed as a 'gesture to Mahmoud Abbas.' His
victim was Dalia Lemkus, 26 (HY"D), who was first run over as she waited at a bus stop in Alon Shvut near Gush
Etzion in Judea and then deliberately stabbed to death when her murderer got out of his car to make sure he finished
the job.
Jen Psaki's remarks on this? She referred to
them as “unfortunately a couple of events.”
Just, you know, the kind of tragedies that happen
some time. Here's the rest of her statement:
"We strongly condemn the stabbings – the
stabbing today in the West Bank and we deeply
regret the loss of life. Our condolences go out to
the victim’s family. It is absolutely critical that
parties take every possible measure to protect
civilians and de-escalate tensions,” Psaki said.
Protect civilians? Does she even listen to what comes out of her mouth? These were deliberate terrorist attacks
aimed at killing civilians. And the Palestinian Authority and Hamas are encouraging them.
And of course, being Jen Psaki, she had to find
something to say to show some kind of
equivalence between Israel and the Arabs whom
call themselves Palestinians...
“We are also seeking additional information
surrounding the incident of the Israeli Arab who
was shot with – who was shot as well with a live
bullet. We’re looking for information surrounding
this incident. We’re in touch – close touch with
the Ministry of Justice. And of course, we urge all
parties to exercise restraint."
The Arab whom she's perhaps talking about,
Khayr al-Din al-Hamdan had attacked a police
car with a knife and attempted to attack the
police inside. Or perhaps she means Dalia
Lemkus's murderer Maher Hamdi alHashalmoun from Hebron, who was shot by
police as he ran away on foot after a 59-year-old
Israeli stopped his car, got out and took the killer
on with his bare hands
A reporter asked her, “If you’re standing at a bus
stop or something and someone runs a car into
you or comes up and stabs you, I don’t know
how – I mean, those people aren’t – don’t need
to exercise restraint, do they?”
Her reply? “I think I’m referring to the fact that we
know that there have been – there’s been rising
tensions in the region that has led to some of
these incidents. I think we all are aware of that.”
“Obviously, there have been a range of issues and events that have led to the rising tensions in the region that both
sides need to do more to fix.”
These exchanges reveal a lot. They tell us that the constant hammering on Israel by the Obama Administration is all
about President Obama's attitude towards Israel and towards Benyamin Netanyahu, not anything about how Israel
defends itself.
This president and his minions don't consider the attacks against Israeli civilians to be terrorism, but 'legitimate'
resistance by 'freedom fighters.' That's exactly why they never use the 'T' word to describe them.
It's always Israel's fault. And if that isn't supported in the least by facts, that doesn't stop Psaki and others of her ilk
from being the mouthpieces used to demonize Israel and its security forces as they defend the country. It's to try and
force Israel back to indefensible borders that would result in even worse violence than exists now.
The president and his team don't consider Israel an ally. They see Israel as a problem he needs to neutralize and
create distance from, just as he said openly in 2009. It's what he wanted from the very beginning, and it's much more
to his taste than actually fighting Islamists or seeing to it that Iran is stopped from getting nuclear weapons
Also, the callous dismissal of what Dempsey had to say is just one more example of exactly how much respect this
president and his team have for our military and their advice and opinions.
And Jen Psaki?
I know, it's just a well paid job that involves equating Israel with the likes of Hamas/Fatah and whitewashing the
Obama regime's despicable stance by blaming 'both sides', as if the victims brought it on themselves just by being
there. But then, there are limits in what most people with any decency will do for money ...unless they're true
believers. Ms. Psaki obviously is one, and is thus enabling what I'd call more than the usual level of evil.
There's always a price for that in the end.

http://www.naturalnews.com/047603_Ebola_mutations_disease_detection_virus_transmission.html
Has Ebola already mutated to evade detection?
(NaturalNews) Ebola news coverage has all but dried up in the mainstream media, and so has the stock of available
viral samples for disease testing, say scientists. It is highly likely that Ebola has already mutated so much that it is
no longer detectable using standard assessments, but without these samples there is no way to know for sure,
they say.
U.S. scientists who have been tracking the outbreak say the situation is getting murkier as active monitoring dwindles.
Transport companies that previously would have shipped the virus are now leery of doing so due to safety concerns,
while doctors in the most affected countries in West Africa have suddenly stopped sharing disease samples with the
U.S.
According to Charles Chiu, a microbiologist and infectious disease expert at the University of California, San
Francisco, the best experts in the field don't even know if Ebola has mutated beyond recognition because tracking
has deteriorated. As it currently stands, samples of the virus are nowhere to be found, which poses a major public
health threat.
"No one really knows right now what has the virus mutated to or if it has mutated," stated Chiu to Reuters. "We're not
going to be able to determine in advance whether or not [Ebola] has changed to a form where it might evade
diagnostic assays or might render current vaccines or drugs ineffective."
Infection rate up 900 percent in Sierra Leone, say most recent reports
Right before the corporate media agreed to stop covering Ebola at the direction of the Obama regime, it was reported
that the infection rate was skyrocketing in Sierra Leone, one of the hardest-hit countries. The total infection count had
jumped by nearly 4,000 people, topping 13,500 people, according to International Business Times.
While new cases of Ebola in the U.S. haven't been officially reported, there are murmurs in New York City, Iowa,
South Carolina and elsewhere that Ebola may still be spreading. Dozens of potential Ebola cases are currently being
monitored in these areas, though it appears as though the medical system doesn't really know how to confirm one
way or the other.
"What we're finding... is that the virus is mutating," reported Robert Garry, Ph.D., a virologist and professor of
microbiology at Tulane University, to WVUE in mid-October. "In fact, it's mutating in humans as the virus spreads from
human to human to human much faster than it was when it was just circulating around in the rain forest in the
animals there."
Hundreds being monitored in New York City during Obama media blackout
Despite the ongoing media blackout, some 357 people, and counting, are currently being monitored in New York City
after demonstrating possible symptoms of Ebola. Dozens of others in Iowa and South Carolina are also under
evaluation, indicating that the Ebola threat is far from over. But will anybody notice before it's too late?
"The Ebola evaporation nicely coincides with Obama regime spear-carriers attempts to paint Republicans as nothing
but rank fear-mongers exploiting the virus for political gain," wrote Donn Marten for Downtrend, adding that the
sudden loss in Ebola coverage "doesn't pass the smell test."
So far, there have been 341 mutations of Ebola since the outbreak began, according to a recent study published in
the journal Science. This is a lot of change in a very short period of time, which suggests that Ebola is still out there
spreading, regardless of what the mainstream media would have us all believe.

Netanyahu Outlines Crackdown on
Terror Throughout Israel
PM says terrorists 'trying to uproot us from the country,'
while Abbas 'stirs tension', urges Israeli Arabs not to
join in the violence.
Tova Dvorin
Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu made a statement on the current security situation in Israel on Tuesday, 24 hours after
Palestinian terrorists killed 20 year-old IDF soldier Almog Shiloni and 26 year-old Dalia Lemkos hy"d in two separate stabbing
attacks. "We find ourselves facing a wave of incitement and terror which we have faced since the State's establishment," he began. "We
Netanyahu stated that he would be taking steps to "increase security forces throughout Israel" to "ensure Israeli citizens' security,"
through coordinated efforts with the Israel Security Agency (ISA), IDF, and the Israel Police. The steps will include "increasing forces in the field throughout Israel," "demolishing terrorists' homes, harsh punishments for rockthrowers, Molotov cocktail and fireworks attacks, fines against the parents of rock-throwers, outlawing the parties behind the
terrorism and riots in Jerusalem, and other steps." "Terrorism against us has no borders," he continued. "They are trying to uproot us from everywhere in the country. According to the
terrorists, we don't have to be anywhere - not in Jerusalem, not in Tel Aviv, not in Gush Etzion, not anywhere." "They will not succeed," he continued. "There are also those in the field who are attempting to bring the war against ISIS - or a holy war - here," he added. "This will also
not succeed."
Netanyahu then turned to the issue of PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas, whom many MKs and public officials have cited as a
wellspring for the recent incitement to violence over the past several weeks.
"We will continue to act in every way against all incitement, against all actions of terror," he said. "But unfortunately, Abu Mazen
[Abbas - ed.] is not a partner in this." "On the contrary, Abu Mazen proved today the extent to which he is irresponsible," he continued. "Instead of easing tensions, he
stirs them. Instead of telling the truth, he spreads lies." "Instead of directing the political path to peace, he directs it to terror," he added, directing a few scathing remarks at the
international community for "condemning every porch built in the capital and drinking up Abu Mazen's lies." Netanyahu also urged Israeli Arabs not to follow the pressure to join in on Palestinian rioting and incitement, noting that they are
"equal citizens with equal rights under the law," and that, therefore, "they must obey the law equally." He then concluded by expressing his condolences to the families of Monday's terror victims. Netanyahu's statement surfaces against the backdrop of escalating tensions in Jerusalem - which has suffered three major terror
attacks in two and a half weeks - and amid concerns that Hamas has been planning a "large-scale attack" on Israeli citizens.

Republicans React to Obama’s Net Neutrality Proposal:
‘Obamacare for the Internet’
U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas // Tony Gutierrez/AP
Sen. Ted Cruz on Monday likened President Obama's newly announced plan to preserve net neutrality to Obama's
sweeping overhaul of the health care system.
In a tweet, the Texas Republican attacked the concept of net neutrality as "Obamacare for the Internet."
Earlier on Monday, Obama outlined his plan to preserve net neutrality using the "strongest possible" rules. He urged
the Federal Communications Commission to classify broadband Internet as a "telecommunications service" under
Title II of the Telecommunications Act.
Broadband providers, including Comcast and Verizon, are fiercely opposed to such a reclassification, but openInternet advocates say it is the only way to maintain the integrity of the Internet. Many Republicans are also opposed
to the idea, contending it would constitute a government takeover of the Internet.
Cruz also took to his Facebook page to express his disdain of net neutrality, calling it the "biggest regulatory threat to
the Internet."
"[Net neutrality] puts the government in charge of determining Internet pricing, terms of service, and what types of
products and services can be delivered, leading to fewer choices, fewer opportunities, and higher prices for
consumers," Cruz wrote.
Cruz has long been critical of the FCC's efforts to enact new regulations on the Internet. Earlier this year, he called on
Congress to ban the agency's "latest adventure in 'net neutrality' " on grounds that a five-member panel should not
decide "how Internet services will be provided to millions of Americans."
Sen. John Thune, the top Republican on the Senate Commerce Committee, which oversees the FCC and Internet
issues, also blasted Obama's proposal as one that would "stifle our nation's dynamic and robust Internet sector with
rules written nearly 80 years ago for plain old telephone service."
"The president's stale thinking would invite legal and marketplace uncertainty and perpetuate what has needlessly
become a politically corrosive policy debate," Thune added.

Police Swoop Up Illegals in New
Crackdown After Soldier's Murder
Police on Tuesday arrested 42 Palestinian Arabs who
were in Israeli illegally.
Moshe Cohen
Police on Tuesday arrested 42 Palestinian Arabs who were in Israeli illegally. Of the detainees, 21 were shipped back to PA
controlled areas, while the rest were held for questioning.
The detainees were arrested as part of the new “no-tolerance” policy on PA Arabs in Israel illegally, in the wake of the murder of
IDF soldier Almog Shiloni, who was killed Monday in the heart of Tel Aviv – by a PA Arab who was roaming the city without a
permit to be in Israel.
The 21 detainees are suspected of committing various crimes, mostly involving theft, although police said they would investigate the
possibility that they were involved in security incidents as well. Police will ask for an extension of their remand Wednesday in court.
On Monday, 20-year-old IDF soldier Almog Shiloni died of his wounds after stabbed numerous times, including in the upper body
and waist, as he tried to fight off his attacker. The attacker proceeded to try and escape from the scene in the center of Tel Aviv as
he was pursued by security forces and citizens.
The terrorist has been identified as Nur al-Din Abu Hashiya, an 18-year-old from Shechem (Nablus) in Samaria who had illegally
entered into sovereign Israeli territory. Police spokesperson Luba Samri said "it was apparently an attack with nationalist motives.
The suspect is a resident of Shechem." Hashiya tried to snatch a weapon from his victim, but was prevented from doing so by
citizens in the area, at which point he decided to flee.
POPE FRANCIS AND RICK WARREN TO UNITE FOR
GLOBAL CHRISLAM CONFERENCE
NTEB News Desk | November 10, 2014
THE COMING ONE WORLD RELIGION GROWS IN STRENGTH DAILY
“And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers
of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.” Revelation 18:4
On Monday, November 17, 2014, Pope Francis will host a global ecumenical conference featuring
Muslim leaders, pagans, and Chrislam founder Rick Warren from Saddleback Church in California.
The official website says that the Colloquium is sponsored by the Congregation for the Doctrine of the
Faith and co-sponsored by the Pontifical Council for the Family, the Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue, and
the Pontifical Council for the Promotion of Christian Unity.
The conference will be held Nov. 17-19 at the Vatican, and is expected to feature more than 30
speakers from over 20 countries. According to the Catholic News Service, those of the Jewish,
Islamic, Buddhist, Hindu, Jaina Shasana, Taoist and Sikh religions will be present, as well as Roman
Catholics and professing Christians. Note the high number of professing pagan religions that will be
represented there. The Pope doesn’t care what you believe as long as you follow Rome.
The Complementarity of Man and Woman: An International Colloquium is a gathering of leaders
and scholars from many religions across the globe, to examine and propose anew the beauty of the
relationship between the man and the woman, in order to support and reinvigorate marriage and
family life for the flourishing of human society.
But beyond it’s stated purpose, the real reason for the global confab is to continue Pope Francis’ work
of merging all religions into the One World Religion mentioned in the book of Revelation. Any excuse
for a get together is fine, so long as all religions agree to lay down before the Vatican and get in line
behind the Pope.
Last year, Anglican priest and close friend of Pope Francis Tony Palmer gave an impassioned plea to
Kenneth Copeland’s church to “return home to Mother Rome”, only to die mere months later in a
mysterious motorcycle accident.

Another Big Gay (and “Christian” Enabled) Mark of the Beast…
For those of us wondering what The Mark of the Beast might look like if it is to be an actual, physical mark, the answer
might not be nearly as mysterious as we’ve been lead to believe. Once we shed the presuppositions imposed through
generations of infatuation with laughably bad “end times” theories and even worse works of “Christian fiction” (and,
even more sadly, non-fiction) based on the same, we might be startled to notice that there are several present and
emerging examples of just the sort of mark described so famously in the thirteenth chapter of the book of Revelation.
(See: A Mark of the Beast and Corporate Mark of the Beast rollout continues…)
While none of these examples may be The Mark of the Beast, they are certainly examples of marks of the beast in the
Revelation 13 sense of the term. Their purpose is to identify, separate, and persecute true Christians (and by true, I
mean those who demonstrate actual saving faith by being actively obedient to the Word of God right here and now).
These marks exist to make clear the line of demarcation between that which is encouraged and that which is not to
be permitted in the worldviews of those who wish to engage in normal economic activity in the “free markets” of the
world (markets that are, in fact, the antithesis of free, having been defined and dominated by a money-printing class
of elites who quite literally make money out of thin air with which to own and control everyone and everything beneath
them – including each and every supposedly “free” market).
One example of such a Mark that seems particularly worthy of note today is the “Best Places to Work for LGBT
Equality” badge of honor that appears in a recent Kellogg’s ad featuring Tony the Tiger (of Frosted Flakes fame),
which we covered earlier in Corporate America to Your Children: Hating God and Embracing Homosexuality is
GRRREAT!
Here’s the ad referenced in that piece, with the Mark in question prominently and clearly on display in the lower-right
corner:
So Kellogg’s joins the long and growing list of American (and multi-national) corporations who are very clearly and
very openly targeting obedient Christians for overt economic persecution through this…mark.
As corporate strategies, marketing approaches, and HR policies shift more and more into a pro-Gay/anti-Christian
mode, for every stride made in favor of accommodating and promoting the legitimacy and value of homosexuality
(and, ultimately, every other sexual perversion imaginable), there will be, necessarily and quite automatically, an
equally vigorous stride against practicing, obedient Christians.
And as professing Christians continue to enable this “progress” through investment and partnership with such
companies for the sake of personal material profit, it is, once again, the professing church that demonstrates its
primary role of responsibility in even the implementation of these Marks of the Beast to be used to persecute the true
Church. (See: Dear professing Christian investors: Please stop funding the war on actual, obedient Christians. )
May God grant sweeping brokenness, repentance, and restoration to that professing church so that she may, by His
grace, take up the Gospel-fueled Great Commission that she has disdainfully abandoned…while there is yet time…

from theology and education to movies and pop-culture is tackled head on from a Christ-centered and Gospel-fueled
perspective.

Corporate America to Your Children: Hating God and Embracing
Homosexuality is GRRREAT!
In Tony the Tiger Gets His Gay Stripes , we are treated to the latest in a looooooong running trend of corporate
sponsored anti-Christian propaganda, this time in the form of Kellogg’s Frosted Flakes mascot “Tony the Tiger” doing
his thing by smiling, posing, and telling us all in that warm, trusted and market-tested voice that hating God and
embracing homosexuality as legitimate is Grrrrrrrreat!!!
How long and how far will the corporate war on Truth have to continue along its well established path of escalation
before professing Christians will finally accept the fact that we cannot separate the lordship of Christ from our
approach to business, marketing, or the pursuit of profit without making those things fundamentally evil? Everything
down to cereal cartoon mascots can and will be corrupted and used to spread corruption when we dismiss the Great
Commission mandate to proclaim and apply the lordship of Christ in every realm of His creation right here and now.
(See: Matthew 28)
While things like cartoon tigers advocating homosexuality might seem silly and sad, they should be anything but
surprising to a biblically literate Christian living in 2014 America. This sort of sadly surreal development is as
predictable as can be. We’ve been chronicling the ever-escalating, in-your-face, proud anti-Christian American
corporatism here for some time at FBC (American Pride and Romans 1 Cheeseburgers, Let Them Eat Gay Cake:
Corporate America’s Pro-Gay Blitz Hits Delicious New Lows, and As if Apple wasn’t gay enough already. are just a
few examples.)
Until and unless the Church repents of past and present apathy and support (both passive and active) for the forces
waging this war against Christ and His people, we will only see this escalation continue. These things are not
happening primarily because Kellogg’s or homosexual activists are given over to a depraved mind, a la Romans 1.
These things are happening because the professing church of Jesus Christ has been conformed to the world she
was commissioned to transform, and has abandoned the Gospel-fueled Great Commission in favor of secular (aka
“Satanic”) pragmatism as the best way to manage things in this life. Until and unless the Church repents of her
rebellion, she will continue to lead the way into further darkness and ultimately death. (See: Judgment begins with
the Church…not the Democrats.)
State-controlled children’s education and corporate-controlled pop-culture are on the verge of cementing a
thoroughly anti-Christian worldview into the hearts and minds of the overwhelming majority of Americans – including
the vast majority of professing Christian Americans. And, in the most tragic of ironies, it is and always has been
professing Christians who are most responsible for these things taking place.
By freely sending their children to the State for explicitly anti-Christian “education” in direct contradiction to the clear
Word of God on the subject of children’s education, and by vigorously supporting (and personally profiting from)
flagrantly anti-Christian corporate activity, millions of professing Christians have been the chief and most essential
enablers of the rot that is about to finish off the American culture. (See: Dear professing Christian investors: Please
stop funding the war on actual, obedient Christians.)
For those looking for “signs of the times” or signs of the Romans 1 judgment of God pouring out upon a very proud,
rebellious America, they now need look no further than their cartoon cereal mascots.
And for those wondering who to blame for such a tragically comedic, culturally destructive development, they need
look no further than the typical American Christian, who, thanks to generations of State/corporate programming and
unbiblical “leadership” from a professional pastor class, has as much disdain as anyone for the Gospel-fueled Great
Commission in practice.

What case drop? Ebola finds new hotspots outside Liberian
capital – ‘everybody could die in this town’
By The Extinction
Protocol
November 11,
2014
November 2014 – LIBERIA - A schoolteacher brought his sick daughter from Liberia’s capital
to this small town of 300 people. Soon he and his entire family were dead and buried in the
forest nearby, along with an increasing number of residents. The community of Jenewonde
has become a new hotspot for the Ebola outbreak in Liberia. With cases on the decline in the
capital, officials must now turn their attention to hard-to-reach places where the disease is
flaring. Jenewonde, in Grand Cape Mount County near the border with Sierra Leone, has
reportedly lost about 10 percent of its population to Ebola since late September. Markets and
farms nearby have been abandoned. Momo Sheriff, who lost his son to Ebola, said there is no
health care in the community. No clinics could be seen along the road into town. “If the
government does not take action, everybody will die in this town,” Sheriff told an Associated
Press journalist. “We are burying two dead bodies today. We don’t know who it will be
tomorrow. Every day we have to cry.” Juma Mansaray lost her mother and grandmother on
the same day. She said the community has been ostracized from neighboring ones.
“Everywhere we go, the people will drive us away,” she said. “We can’t even go to the local
market to buy pepper or food because people think we are cursed.”
Ebola is also hitting the town of Gorzohn in Rivercess County, which lies on Liberia’s central
coast, said Assistant Health Minister Tolbert Nyenswah, who heads Liberia’s Ebola response.
The international response must adapt to this new phase, Doctors Without Borders warned.
As Jenewonde saw, just one case can ignite a chain of transmission that leads to a dozen
more infections, said Fasil Tezera, head of operations for the charity in Liberia. Liberia has
suffered the greatest death toll in the Ebola epidemic, with 2,766 deaths blamed on the firstever Ebola outbreak in West Africa. The World Health Organization says that after months of
aggressive efforts to isolate the sick and remove bodies of victims safely, Ebola appears to
be declining in some parts of Liberia, including the capital where only about 50 of the 250
beds are filled at a Doctors Without Borders clinic. “In the cities, I think we have sufficient
resources,” Tezera said. “We cannot bring everybody to big ETU’s,” or Ebola treatment units.
The outbreak now also needs a series of “rapid response teams” that can bring care to
remote villages, rather than trying to get sick people out, the group says. Such teams would
include medics, disinfection specialists and psychologists or social workers and could stamp
out a budding outbreak in a village before it has a chance to spread. And they could work
much faster than a treatment center can be built.
Tezera said that such mobile teams were frequently deployed in previous Ebola outbreaks,
which typically hit remote areas of central or eastern Africa. The teams could travel by truck,
boat or helicopter, if those assets are provided. “If you handle it at the small village level,
then you can contain it,” he said. Experts warn that the disease could flare again in Monrovia
or other places where it seems to have subsided. As long as Ebola is circulating in this highly
mobile region, no area is safe, said Tezera, and cases continue to rise in Guinea and Sierra
Leone. There were 40 new Ebola cases in and around the Sierra Leonean capital of Freetown
in the preceding 24 hours, authorities there said late Sunday. –ABC News

Anti-American Progressives Cancel Veterans Day Ceremony at
School for First Time in 80 Years

The poisonous progressive agenda has oozed into a school district in Wisconsin which has caused the cancellation
of a traditional Veterans Day ceremony that has been held since the 1930′s.
Part of the time-honored tradition, which is the main reason the anti-Second Amendment rights leftists have banned
the annual event, is because a 21-gun salute is conducted as part of the ceremony, and the controlist educators are
worried that some people may feel an “uneasiness,” even though blanks, not real bullets are used in the rifles.
“There are just some conditions that we have to adhere to and the shooting of guns, even with blanks, is something
we don’t feel is appropriate given society, and the concerns that we have and that community has, on school
premises,” said Tim Libham, the Executive Director of Administration for the Eau Claire School District, as reported
by WEAU.
The school district got blasted on its Facebook page from outraged citizens and veterans for their anti-American
intolerance. Representative of the posts was this one:

Disturbing Evidence that Barack Obama is Purposefully Putting
Our Border Patrol in Harm’s Way
Jennifer
Burke
November 11,
2014
The life of a border patrol agent is a dangerous one. As they work to patrol our border, they not only have to contend
with illegals crossing the border, but also with a well-funded and well equipped Mexican drug cartel, paramilitary
forces, and corrupt Mexican soldiers and federales. Given the nature of their job, it is beyond disturbing and
dangerous for them to be without the one thing that helps to keep them safe against the enemy – their weapons.
KVOA, the NBC affiliate in Tucson, reports that border patrol agents are being stripped of their guns.
We learned that U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s Offices of Border Patrol and Training and
Development are inspecting the quality of agents’ M4 carbines throughout Border Patrol sectors
nationwide. But agents tell us, some of those M4s have not been replaced. And, we’ve learned,
agents are required to share rifles amongst each other.
“There’s a lot of agents that are pretty upset over it,” said Art del Cueto, president of the Border
Patrol’s Tucson Sector union. “We know it’s a dangerous job. We know what we signed on for but we
want to have as much of the equipment as we need to perform the job.”
As a result, agents are being forced to share weapons which means they cannot personalize critical things on the
rifle like the sight. This makes for a less safe environment for both them and the community.
Jeff Prather, who runs the Warrior School in Tucson and is a former DEA agent, says he believes the removal of the
rifles may be politically motivated. According to Prather, many of the rifles are being taken away after inspection for
things that are easily and quickly fixed. He told the station, “This weapon is designed to be able to be in a battle
situation, changed out rather quickly even so fast that modern weapons have areas to hold spare bolts.”
This has led Prather to believe that agents are being purposefully disarmed, which puts their lives at risk in being
overpowered at the border.
In December 2010, Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry was killed while on duty by illegals. His death exposed the
botched gun running operation by the Obama administration famously now known as Operation Fast and Furious. It
is a case that brought to America’s attention the dangers faced on a daily basis by those who patrol our borders. That
danger has been increased under Barack Obama due to agents being stripped of their guns.

Russia Signs Deal With Iran To Build 8 Nuclear Power Units –
11.11.14
With this year’s APEC meeting in China having just barely concluded, where the biggest news was not the
inability of the US to make any material headway in trans-Pacific trade (who needs trade when you have a
printer?) or that China is “willing” to import even more NSA bugs courtesy of Cisco and Qualcomm,
but Russia’s second “western” mega gas deal with China, as well as the following photo-op of course…
… and with the WSJ reporting that in the now year-old “nuclear”negotiations between the west and Iran,
there has been no progress, it was once again Putin’s turn to turn the screws on the lame duck president
following a report moments ago that Russia inked a deal to build eight nuclear power units in Iran, as a
new partnership agreement, guaranteed by the IAEA.
First, this how the success of US defines “success” in its ongoing negotiations tocurb Iran’s nuclear program:
Two days of exhaustive negotiations between U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry and his Iranian
counterpart, Javad Zarif, in the Persian Gulf nation of Oman resulted in no significant
breakthrough in forging a comprehensive agreement to curb Tehran’s nuclear program by a
Nov. 24 diplomatic deadline, said senior U.S. and Iranian officials.
“Real gaps” remain between Washington and Tehran, said an American diplomat, in describing talks
that seek to end a decade-long standoff over the future of Iran’s nuclear program.
Lower-level diplomacy between the U.S., Iran and other world powers continued on Tuesday in
Muscat, as Mr. Kerry arrived in China to brief President Barack Obama on the status of the
nuclear diplomacy.
“What we’ve said about this is that we may get there and we may not,” said a senior U.S. official who
traveled with Mr. Kerry, referring to he prospects for a deal by late November. “I don’t think that
anybody has said at any point recently that we are, quote-unquote ’on track’ to reach an agreement by
the 24th.”
Iran’s second-highest official attending the Oman talks, Abbas Araghchi, described the talks as “tense”
and said his negotiating team was committed to engaging in virtually round-the-clock talks to try and
reach the deadline.
This was of course expected since nobody embodies US “success” better in recent years than Obama with
perhaps the exception of John Kerry.
So as the US stumbles from one foreign policy debacle to another, this is what the Kremlin is doing. From RT:
Russia is to build eight nuclear power units in Iran, as a new partnership agreement,
guaranteed by the IAEA, was signed in Moscow on Tuesday.
The head of the Rosatom, Sergey Kirienko, and the chief of the Atomic Energy Agency of Iran, Ali
Akbar Salehi, signed a series of documents, promoting the links in the field of peaceful application of
atomic energy between the countries, RIA Novosti reports.
According to the agreement, Russia is to construct eight pressurized water reactors “turn-key ready”
in Iran. Four of them will be built at the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant, also completed by Russia a
year ago.
Besides, nuclear fuel for the future reactors will be provided by Russia during the whole life cycle of
the new reactors. Spent fuel will be returned for processing and storage.
In other words, as the US does everything in its power to halt the spread of nuclear power in Iran (for peaceful
purposes or otherwise) Tehran, in clear defiance of the US, just agreed with Russia to develop not one but 8
new nuclear reactors.
Confused: please refer to the picture at the top of this article for the clearest explanation possible.

Ukraine Currency Crashes After Senior EU Official Says “The
Ukrainians Are Manipulating Us” – 11.11.14
The much discussed tumble in the Russian ruble (or as Japan would call it “mission accomplished” if its was
the Yen instead of the Ruble) may have stabilized somewhat, and judging by the Russian central bank’s
response to no longer intervene in the FX corridor-setting market on a daily basis, Russia is hardly too
concerned by the impact to the economy as a result of the beating its currency has taken, but where Putin
may have brushed off the “speculative” attack on its currency for the time being, things for Russia’s western
adversary, the Ukraine – the country whose economy is in a state of near terminal collapse and which unlike
Russia doesn’t have massive raw materials to fall back on – are just starting to go bump in the night.
But what’s far worse for Ukraine, which has been on life support by its “western allies” ever since the Victoria
Nuland/US State Department/CIA catalyzed coup early in the year, is that those same “allies” now look like
they have had enough of their “alliance.”
According to Reuters, nearly a year on from the first “EuroMaidan” protests that would topple the pro-Moscow
president who had spurned an EU trade deal, some in Brussels are disillusioned by the experience of helping
Ukraine. EU generosity in waiving import duties and funding gas supplies from Russia may be being abused,
they say.
Corruption in Ukraine? Unpossible. But wait, it gets better:
Some in Ukraine’s elite may be colluding with Russia, even as fighting in the east has begun to escalate
again.
If true, this will be the biggest stunt a Russian leader has pulled since Khruschev banging on the desk in the
UN with his shoe.
And the punchline:
“The Ukrainians are manipulating the EU,” a senior EU official involved in negotiations told Reuters, saying the
bloc was “waking up” to a need to better defend its own interests.
You mean those poor European taxpayers, raped for years to bail out insolvent Eurozone nations because,
you know, “political capital”, are now directly and indirectly funding Putin’s extravagant habits?
Brilliant.
“There may be, in certain sections of the Ukrainian government, an interest in colluding with the Russians and
instrumentalizing to a certain extent the EU,” he added.
Such views are dismissed as “absolute nonsense” by Ukraine’s ambassador to the EU, Kostiantyn Yelisieiev.
He condemned talk of secret deals between Kiev and Moscow to exploit Western fears for profit as part of
“Russian propaganda” and said he had full confidence in continued cooperation with the European Union.
In public, there is solid EU support for the newly elected president and parliament in the face of Russian
hostility – a position new European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker will stress when he visits
Kiev, perhaps as early as this month.
And there is unanimous, personal admiration among officials and diplomats for ordinary Ukrainians’ courage
on the streets, and a will to help them consolidate democracy and prosperity.
Yet in private, endemic post-Soviet corruption, the power of business “oligarchs” and suspicions of lingering
Ukrainian collaboration with supposed enemies in Moscow lead some in Brussels to question the future of
current levels of EU backing.
“Maybe people fell for this ‘poor little Ukraine’ line,” one EU diplomat said. “But they’re not so naive. They’re
waking up.”
Well, if they indeed are, it also means any future IMF, or US aid, to the Ukraine is over. And here comes the
bailouter’s remorse:
Amid some regret at the way the EU’s drive to conclude its Association Agreement with Ukraine ended up
provoking conflict with Russia, there is sympathy in Brussels for Poroshenko, the confectionery magnate and
long-time minister elected to succeed the ousted, Moscow-backed Viktor Yanukovich six months ago.
“You can’t blame him for playing a weak hand as best he can in his own national interests,” one EU diplomat
said of the man who was feted as guest of honor at an EU summit in June.
At the same time, there is a concern not to write blank cheques to Ukraine at a time of austerity at home.
Which may explain why the Ukraine economy just entered the endspiel part judging by what happened to its
currency overnight.
