May 13; September 16; November 11 (All sessions are on Tuesday) Location: Audience: Purpose: The Advanced FHM course conveys the application of advanced fetal heart monitoring knowledge and skills in intrapartum clinical practice. Description: Building on the skills and knowledge gained in the Intermediate FHM Course, the Advanced FHM course conveys the application of advanced fetal heart monitoring knowledge and skills in intrapartum clinical practice. Using a case study approach to focus on the analysis of compli‐

This course is designed for clinicians who successfully complete the Intermediate FHM Course, a comparable fetal heart monitoring course, and/or are certified or have added credentials in fetal heart monitoring. Describe physiologic principles of maternal and fetal oxygen transfer and acid‐base balance. Identify physiologic principles underlying fetal heart monitoring. Describe concepts in antenatal testing including analysis and interpretation of biophysical profiles and complex antenatal fetal heart monitoring tracings. Relate physiologic principles to the goals and interventions of antenatal testing. Evaluate interventions for patients undergoing antenatal testing. Analyze fetal cardiac arrhythmia patterns and describe outcomes associated with these patterns. Analyze complex fetal heart monitoring patterns utilizing current NICHD/ACOG FHM terminology and categories. Apply perinatal risk management principles, communication techniques and documentation strategies related to complex and challenging patient care scenarios. Schedule:
