BUSINESS/PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES:
Law Practice: I am in my 18th year of law practice. My practice deals with a broad
range of issues that lie in the interface between law and mental health. These issues
include:

1. Administrative law: I represent health care professionals facing disciplinary actions
by agencies including licensing boards, health care payment (e.g., Medicare), etc. (30%
of my practice)
2. Criminal law: I represent individuals facing criminal charges where psychological
variables are central to the defense (e.g., "recovered" memory, posttraumatic and
dissociative disorders) (5 % of my practice).
3. Civil law: I represent plaintiffs in mental health malpractice cases, serve as "Cumis"
counsel for mental health professional defendants in civil cases, and consult to attorneys
representing such individuals. (20% of my practice)
4. Family law: I represent mental health professionals who are involved in some aspect
of family law, including special masters/parent coordinators, mediators, custody
evaluators and psychotherapists. These are often professionals who are being pursued
by one of the parties. (20% of my practice)
5. I consult with health care professionals who call for information/support with myriad
problems they face in their work (15% of my practice).
6. Teaching: I provide continuing education workshops in risk management for mental
health professionals via live presentations and online programs. (10% of my practice)
Forensic Psychology Practice: As a forensic psychologist, I most frequently consult
(and testify) on matters involving standards of care for mental health professionals and
matters involving individuals with complex posttraumatic and dissociative disorders.
Clinical Psychology Practice: As a clinical psychologist, I practice one day per week
and my practice is limited to adults who claim histories of childhood abuse/neglect.

“FACTS” was a multidisciplinary mental health Preferred Provider Organization
(PPO), providing opportunities for ownership for all of its professionals,
regardless of discipline. FACTS contracted for discounted fees for service with a
variety of IPAs and corporate payors. I was co-founder and co-managing
partner. FACTS operated actively from 1986-1991.
FISCRO Corp., 28901 S. Western Ave. #806, Rancho Palos Verdes, CA 90732.
FISCRO Corp. was a general corporation which owned Ivy Lea Manor, a set of
licensed group homes in the Southern California area that provided an
alternative to acute care psychiatric hospitalization for children, adolescents and
adults, in a cost-effective manner. I was co-founder and 1/3 shareholder, served
on the Board of Directors, and was the Executive Director of the Adult
Residential Facility portion of the project. The first Ivy Lea Manor opened in the
spring of 1987, with second and third facilities opening in 1990 and 1991,
respectively. Closed: 7/95.

Is a California Limited Liability Company formed in June, 2004, to offer continuing
education programs via the internet. We created and video-recorded law/ethics
programs for mental health professionals in all 50 states and have recruited wellknown and highly regarded professionals to create programs in their specialty

areas as well. United Behavioral Health (managed care company has adopted
the law/ethics course for its in-house staff and has recommended it to its
approximately 40,000 panel providers across the United States). By 12/31/10,
SFG offered over 100 hours of continuing education by top professionals in their
fields, covering law/ethics/regulation, risk management, custody evaluations,
domestic violence, supervision, the psychology of humor, toxic professional
relationships, practice development, management and termination. The SFG

Practice-Legacy Programs, 3527 Mt. Diablo Blvd., #269, Lafayette, CA 94549, is a
California company affiliated with SFG, that provides training and application of
services designed to transition professional mental health practices when a
practitioner cannot continue to work, due to death or disability. “P-LP” became
active in October, 2013, and is building a nation-wide network of professionals
who are trained, along with office staff, to close/transition practices. P-LP’s

many capacities, including being an annual speaker on child-rearing, focusing
on pre-teens, and as an annual speaker in the "Quest" Program, an organized
