Faculty/Student VBall Game 3:15 Seniors – your last chance to take your Senior Portrait on campus is this Thursday and Friday, November 20 & 21. Mrs. Bell still has plenty of spots, but you MUST go to room 2320 to sign up for your appointment. You can only sign up before school, after school or between classes. Spots are limited – make sure you get your appointment! This is the LAST opportunity! The Leander Lion Swim Team was back in action this past week for the two-day Houston Area 5A Championships in Sugarland. The Lion boys finished 6th out of 18 teams with top 8 finishes from Cole Moosavi, Josh Wellington and Tanner Hartwick. The Lion girls rounded out the meet 7th with top 8 finishes from McKenzie Sumner, Sarah Cano, who set the school record in the 100 backstroke and Tanja Milanovic who finished 1st overall in the 200 IM with a school record setting time. Congrats Lion Swimming! The Lion Boys Basketball Team will have their home opener against cross town rival Rouse Raiders on Tuesday, November 18. We are expecting a huge and loud crowd, so you don’t want to be left out of the excitement! Tip-off is at 7:30pm in the Lion’s Den. Coach Bradley and the Lions are asking everyone to be early and loud to support the guys to a season opening win! Go Lions!! Tomorrow launches a very exciting season for Leander Basketball! Support our Basketball teams tomorrow by wearing your favorite LHS Basketball Shirt or LHS shirt! The Boys are playing here at home at 6 and 7:30. The girls are at Rouse. Enjoy a great evening out supporting our Lion Basketball Teams! The Student vs. Faculty Volleyball Game is this Friday at 3:15! Anyone interested in playing on the student team should sign up beginning today during all lunches. Admission to this event will be one dollar and tickets will be sold on Thursday and Friday during lunches! Anyone interested in trying out for the 2015 – 2016 Blue Belle team there is a mandatory meeting next Tuesday, November 18th 8:00 am. Any sophomore or junior boy interested in being an Honor Guard & any girl interested in being a Blue Belle Manager for the 2015-2016 team will need to attend a mandatory meeting next Wednesday, November 19 at 8am in the Dance Studio. All students applying will receive their audition packets at these meetings. Lions with Style will be hosting their first, “LHS ‘CAN’ GIVE BACK” food drive to stock our school’s food pantry. The food drive is open to all clubs and organizations and will run through Wednesday, December 3rd. The club or team to collect the most food can play for FREE in our upcoming “Dodgeball Throw Down” December 5th!! Ask your club sponsors or coaches for information!! HOSA is collecting children's socks to donate to Dell Children's Medical Center for Christmas until December 5th. Please bring socks that can fit ages newborn through 18 years old. We have a donation box sitting in the hall outside room 2323. Help us keep feet warm this holiday season! Don’t forget about the DECA Winter Clothing Drive! Clean out your closets from those old or small winter clothes. Collection boxes are in room 1320, the commons area, and the front office. Thank you! The Leander Colorguard Boosters will be selling warm Leander PJ Bottoms this Thursday during all lunches! They are only $25 and make a great gift. Get yours this Thursday before they sell out!
