Day 4 (DC BA)
Highland Clothing – There are samples for sizing in the main office. Pick up an order form in the main
office. You only have 6 days left to place an order. This is the only time of the year you’ll have an
opportunity to order clothes.
Photo Retake Day – Friday, November 21:
1) For those students who missed the original photo day.
2) For students who have a prepay order form to purchase a photo package.
3) For students requesting a photo retake and have the complete original package or proof sheet along with a
brief note from their parent/guardian with the reason for the retake request.
Retakes will NOT be taken for yearbook or student ID card photos only.
Poinsettia Sales – the grads are selling poinsettias for a fundraiser. Students, please let your parents know
that if they want poinsettias for Christmas they can order them from Highland and have them in time for the
holidays.
Musical – auditions for the Addams Family musical will take place on November 19 & 20. Sign up and
audition packages are outside the drama room. Singers, dancer, and actors needed.
Yearbook Meeting – Friday at lunch.
Student Parking – only 7 students have parking passes….if you drive to school you need a parking pass.
Pick up a form in the main office.
Highlands Got Talent - Needs a new host or hosts! Are you the next Ryan Seacrest or Ellen Degeneres??
Take the mic on Monday next week in the Multi-purpose room at lunch; you will have 30 seconds to prove
you’re the next big thing. You can audition by yourself or in pairs in front of 5 secret judges.
Foodsafe - Students signed up for the Foodsafe course will be contacted as soon as a space becomes
available.
Volleyball Practice – Grade 8 girls today at 3:30-5:00pm.
Book Drive – It’s time for the second annual Highland Holiday Book Drive! Please bring in any and all
young adult or children’s books to your AG. On Dec. 1st at the end of the drive the books will be tallied and
the AG with the most books will win fame, glory, and an awesome prize. Toy donations are also greatly
appreciated.
Lost and Found - Goodwill WILL appreciate your clothing donations however if you would like them
back they are in the hallway lost and found.
GSA Meeting – All welcome to meetings Monday at lunch in room 224.

WORK EXPERIENCE

Mt. Washington Job Fair – Saturday, November 15, 10:00am to 3:00pm, in the main lodge at
Mt. Washington. Bring a resume and cover letter.

Mountie Camp – students interested in attending the 2015 Mountie Camp are asked to sign up in the WEX
office ASAP. The camp will be held at HMCS Quadra, April 12 to 17. Selection will be limited to a
maximum of 50 students from SD#71.

Volunteers Needed – The Salvation Army Christmas Kettle Campaign is looking for volunteers to stand by
a kettle over the Christmas season. Volunteer with a friend! To volunteer, email the kettle coordinator at


Comox Valley Soccer Club - is looking for volunteers to run a concession Saturday November 15th, shifts
run from 9-3:30. Contact Blythe Reimer [email protected] to help out
GRADS
Attention!!! Check out the Grad bulletin board at the top of blue stairs, important dates and information are
being posted about Grad 2015.
Yearbook – all grads go to the Highland website and input your grad information on the grad form so we
will have the best yearbook ever! You will find the link under the Student/Parent tab and then Grad
Information.
Grad Decorating Meeting - Tonight at 7pm, any students who have signed up to help please join us. If you
are unable to come, a parent of the decorating committee will be at the school today and can meet at
3:45pm.
