Renal Transplant Consensus & controversies
14th & 15th November 2014
: Venue :
SGPGI, Lucknow
From the Board of Education
Dear Members,
I am pleased to invite you for third Consensus & controversies CME that BOE is
organizing every year. This time the topic is of Renal Transplantation. The program is
planned on 14,15 November 2014.
In last few years more & more centers have started doing transplantation & many
more are in process of get permission. It is good sign that urologists are taking keen
interest to develop this subspecialty. We had huge response to the BOE course on
transplantation during Delhi USICON & hence we decided to have full CME on the
topic.
Transplant surgery differs from all other surgeries where in you are subjecting a
healthy person to undergo surgery. Utmost care has to be taken to achieve
100%safety & morbidity should be reduced to minimum. Laparoscopic donor
nephrectomy is a step ahead in this direction. Similarly, recipient surgery has to be
done with great care. Small error has serious consequences leading to a very poor
outcome. Postoperative alertness is as important as surgery. Several situations are
likely to arrive wherein; urologists have to take quick & perfect decisions.
In this Transplant meeting, we are focusing on all these aspects. In depth discussion
of lap donor nephrectomy will give you incentive to start LDN program & will give
several tricks if you are already doing it. If you look at the program, enough time is kept
for discussion of practical aspects of recipient surgery technique & post op problems.
Cased based discussion of various situations will give you practical hints about
management of these tricky situations. Legal issues are as important as surgery. One
full session is dedicated for that where we shall discuss nitty-gritty's of HOTA, its
modifications, & various other legal hurdles & provisions.
Renowned & experienced national faculty will solve all your doubts & queries. I have
no doubt that this CME will give you lot more information to implement in your practice.
Weather at Lucknow will pleasantly cool & Dr. AneeshShrivastav& his team will take
extra care to make you comfortable. I request you to register early & take advantage.
