Social Justice Thoughts 15/16 November Wendy Cleaver
The power of words to uphold the principle of HUMAN DIGNITY
We have all experienced at some time or other, the negative effects of
hurtful words towards ourselves, our loved ones, our faith community or
others. Let us this week try to use words that bring compassion, love and
joy to those around us. This may be amongst family, workmates,
schoolmates, people in places serving us, or waiting in queues to be
served . Let us use words of encouragement to those we influence. St
Paul’s letter to Titus in Chapter 3: Verse 2 says “Tell them not to speak
evil of anyone, but to be peaceful and friendly and always to show a gentle
attitude towards everyone”
Next Week’s Readings
Ezekiel
34:11-12, 15-16
1 Corinthians
15:20-26, 28
Matthew
25:31-46
ST VINCENT De PAUL
Next meeting will be held on
Tuesday 18th November
7.30pm in the Sacristry annex
Everyone welcome.

ministry skills. It is an inside outside journey where you meet yourself, others
and God. For more information see the flyer on the parish notice board or

the Gospel being proclaimed in Aotearoa New Zealand. This will be held at

any questions.
Challenge 2000 have been busy with our end of year school programmes!
Over the next two months we will continue to go into various primary and
secondary schools around the Wellington Region. Our programmes focus on
many different themes including forgiveness, servant leadership, transitioning
to college, and social justice and responsibility. We are all really looking
forward to these days and seeing the young people in action in their school
communities.
The exam study sessions continue to go really well! Each week the students
come prepared with their study that needs to be done! If you would like to
join us please feel free to come to St Patrick’s College Kilbirnie, from
4pm to 7.30pm on Sunday evenings. During the time we will have study
time, dinner together and then finish off with some sport. If you know anyone
who would like to volunteer as a tutor please get in touch. If you have any
