FOI (Swedish Defence Research Agency) Demo-stations 7/5 och 8/5 Operator Support: with Video Content Analysis, Rapid Data Processing and Information Fusion Decision Support shown in the new Stena Security Centre. Sea Side Intrusion Detection at the ferry berth: Hydrophones, video cameras, IR cameras and radar. Detection of divers, swimmers, kayaks and small boats. Port Security Management System. Security self assessment and upgrade guideline. Security UPgrade for PORTs Example scenarios for under/on surface Intrusion Detection •Smuggling/Terrorism/Stowaways under/on water Sensors: Hydrophones, video cameras, IR cameras and radar. Operator Support: with Information Fusion Decision Support. Possible full scale system solution (blue sonars and yellow camera positions) Demonstration sonars (green dots) Demonstration IR camera at upper yellow mark Articulated lift with cameras Heavy and noisy vehicles Detection of Underwater Threats - Underwater Sensor Positions Reaction to Underwater Threats Warning message from underwater speaker The sonars on floatation buoys can be seen on the following film. Fusion challenges in SUPPORT 1. Heterogeneous sources – Sensor and fusion systems from different vendors use different ways for representing information – difficult to fuse. 2. Information overload – More sensors means more information, events and (false) alarms to monitor. Operators need assistance in filtering out the most relevant information. In SUPPORT, data from heterogeneous sources, threats and alarm priorities are connected using dedicated models/ontologies for Port Security. Dynamic alarm filtering: example The alarm ”Slow vessel close to ferry” is given a higher than normal priority if it is linked to threat models for which we also have other evidence. Name Type Date Risk Slow Vessel close to ferry Alarm 06/05/1411: 36 0.56 Person in water Alarm 06/05/1410: 14 0.24 Vessel detection Event Failed access Event Information from manual reports, surface sensors and hydrophones is merged into different alert levels and action proposals can be supplied built on security plans.
