w/e 21st November 2014 Charity Fun Run This year the School Council have chosen ‘Get Kids Going’ as our chosen charity instead of taking part in Children in Need. ‘Get Kids Going’ aims to help disabled people into sport and get involved in team activities. On Friday, 21st November the School will hold a ‘fun run’ with donations of £1 minimum per child. KS1 children will run as many laps as they can in 5 mins and KS2 will have 10 mins. Children can dress up as a sports person for the day. If you don’t want to run you can still support the Fun Runners by donating and cheering them on. Your return slips need to be returned to the office as soon as possible with your donation. Spare slips are in the office. Mrs Austin and her husband will be competing in the London Marathon to support the charity. Forest School We went to Snapper which is a place in the forest where scouts go to camp. There were other schools there. We made boats out of sticks and willow and other things that were there. We had races with them. Also we made lanterns and tongs. We enjoyed it very much because we liked making the boats. Lily Shaddick and Charlie Sparks in MPE Can we please have your empty jam jars to make into lanterns for the Christmas Fair. Thanks to Specsavers for donating some Hi-Viz jackets to highlight Devon Autumn Games 2014 Sticklepath took a team of three to the 2014 Devon Autumn Games at the Tarka Tennis Centre. Bobby Martinelli, Ethan Brown and William Turnstill got a chance to try out some new sports: Ergoe Canoe Challenge, Trampolining and Laser Shooting. They also got to meet GB diver Pete Waterfield. He brought along his Olympic silver and Commonwealth gold medals for the boys to see. It was a very inspiring morning seeing so many children taking up new challenges and sports that they would not normally get to try out.
