Wiring
WalzCAM IP runs on 12 volts DC. The back panel grants access to the camera power supply and network
inputs. In the picture below, the 2 pin white connector is used to supply power to the camera. Connect the
power supply to the terminals after identifying the polarity and fasten the screws.

The 8 pin input terminal on the right of the picture above is utilized to connect the network cable to the
camera. The IP camera requires a network cable and a connection to a standard 10/100BaseT
hub, router, or switch. It’s not possible to power the WalzCAM IP camera with a Power over Ethernet (PoE)
switch. Because the WalzCAM can be equipped with a secondary colour overview camera, on the green
connector, from top to bottom, the first 4 pins (1 to 4), network connect the Infrared camera board used for
license plate recognition. The additional 4 pins (5 to 8) are dedicated to the colour camera board, which is
used to capture an overview colour picture of the vehicle anytime a license plate reading occurred.
A standard network cable and 2 RJ45 plugs are required for the installation.
With regards to the network wiring, see image, table and especially the diagram below:

Performing the Initial Setup of the IP Camera
Important: If this is the first time you are connecting the WalzCAM to a PC, please do not connect it straight
to the network adapter. The camera will need to download MPEG-4codec from Internet, therefore an internet
connection must be available. Once the necessary codec has been downloaded, the camera can be
connected to the PC/laptop network adapter.
Please access the IP camera and make initial configuration settings. These settings include administrator
and root passwords. To make these configuration settings, you connect to the IP camera from the ANPR
Manager PC that is on the same network as the IP camera.
In addition, you must know the IP address of the IP camera. By default, when the IP camera powers on, it
attempts to obtain an IP address from a DHCP server in your network. If the camera cannot obtain an
IP address through DCHP within 90 seconds, it uses a default IP address of 192.168.0.100.
To connect to the IP camera for the first time and make initial configuration settings, please run Internet
Explorer and enter the following IP address 192.168.0.100 in the address field. See the image below.
The default username and password is: admin.
After login, you’ll see a yellow bar underneath Internet Explorer address. Please right click on the bar to
install the ActiveX™ component.

Proceed installing the “ActiveX Control”. See the image below for details:
At this point, push the button install to complete the installation:
When all the components have been installed properly, please push the button Live Video to display the
camera video signal. See below:
