Participation in the Panoramic Picture is subject to approval by the NPHS Administration, so all students must follow the dress code rules and please be mindful of the following with regard to dress and behavior. You can pick up an order form in the Activities Office. If you have any questions, see Mrs. Adams, Dean of Activities. Please be on time or you will not be in the picture. SENIORS: Please make sure to check the spelling of your name for yearbook on the list on the window in the front office by counseling. You may make any changes next to your name but make sure to let Mrs. Barker in Activities know. YEARBOOK DEDICATIONS: “the last special “discounted” deadline for submitting your child's senior yearbook dedication ad is December 2nd! ATTENDANCE: Student’s attendance history can be monitored via q connect. This is a great way to make sure that absences are cleared in a timely manner and tardy issues can be addressed early on. As a reminder, please remember to call the attendance hotline to clear your child’s absence within 72 hours. TEACHERS: Don’t forget to give your aspiring students who score 100% or higher on their test a ticket for a chance to be named the next Purrrfect Panther. This is a drawing once a month! FRONT DESK: Reminder to all students, no instruments or sports, including cheer equipment will be allowed to be dropped off or stored in the lobby. We will not be responsible for them. LOST & FOUND: Students are responsible for checking the lost and found located in front of the office outside the Counseling doors for any misplaced items. Please note that all found wallets, electronics and jewelry should be turn into the Receptionist in the front office. All items not claimed will be donated at the end of every month. SCHOOL CENTS IS EARNING FOR OUR SCHOOL! There are so many ways to earn points for your school. Bring all your receipts from September 1st until April 30th from store such as Bericup, Coffee Bean & Tea, La Salsa, Subway, Panda Express, Hot Dog on A Stick, etc. We are now including FARMERS MARKET receipts!!! Bring your receipts to the front office or take them over to the customer service kiosk at the Oaks Mall located near the Cheesecake Factory. If you would like your receipts back, just put a note on your envelope or the envelopes we provide in the office and we will be sure to return them to you! At What’s Coming Up! STRING: Come hear some beautiful holiday music by the NPHS Orchestra on Thursdays, December 4th! Performance begins at 7pm in the Performing Arts Center and will feature various famous tunes from holiday pop to classical music. Our chamber orchestra will also be performing for the very first time. NPHS DRAMA DEPT.: The Newbury Park High School Panther Players are proud to present Man of La Mancha, directed by NPHS Drama Teacher, Marilyn Strange, with choreography by Jeff Wallach, and music direction by Paul Taylor. Man of La Mancha runs for two weekends only, from November 7th through November 15th. Performance times are at 8PM on Friday, November 7th and Saturday, November 8th, at 7PM on Thursday, November 13th, and at 8PM on Friday, November 14th and Saturday, November 15th. All performances will take place in the Performing Arts Center. Tickets for Man of La Mancha can be purchased in advance or at the door. Advanced tickets may be ordered online for $12.00 each at www.ShowTix4U.com. Tickets bought at the door may be purchased for $10.00 for adults, and $8.00 for students and children under 12. Please note that only CASH will be accepted at the door. CCC: Are you interested in working as a Commercial Pilot, Flight Instructor, Airport Manager, Weather Forecaster, Air Traffic Controller or Aircraft Mechanic? The CCC is organizing a field trip to the 2014 Aviation Career Day on Friday, November 14, 8am – 2pm at Camarillo Airport. Learn what it takes to get started in the aviation field! Talk to working professionals in aviation-related careers. Get up close to aircraft and equipment. First come first serve! Space is limited to the first 12 students who will submit a competed field trip packet. Forms are available in the CCC. JOIN ONE OF OUR AMAZING CLUBS! HOSA: Support the NPHS HOSA Medical Club be eating at 3 Amigos on Wednesday, November 19th all day! Mention the NPHS Health Club or grab a flyer at the front office. HARRY POTTER ALLIANCE: Come join the Harry Potter Alliance to be a part of a real life Dumbleclare’s army and combat the forces of evil in today’s society. We meet on Thursdays in room B21. PEER COUNSELING: Next week is Acceptance Week! Peer Counseling would like you to take part and think about how you impact those around you. There will be daily challenges & lunchtime events to promote good deeds. Show your support to help create a kinder campus. NPMTBC: Newbury Park Mountain Bike Club meets in Mr. Atkins every other Wednesday. Join us! RECYCLING CLUB: Is earning money for NPHS clubs and sports! Make sure to recycle your cans and bottles in the bins across campus. Applications for monthly earnings can be found in Mrs. Barker’s office. Please do not throw trash in the bins designated for recycling. G.S.A.: The Gay-Straight Alliance meets every Friday at lunch in room B2. Please join us, everyone is welcome! ATHLETICS: Pre-sale tickets for the CIF playoff football game vs. Righetti this Friday will be sold on Wednesday and Thursday in the student store at lunch and after school until 2:30. Prices are $10 for adults and $5 for students with I.D. GIRLS SOFTBALL: Any girls not in another sport interested in playing softball this year need to attend tryouts next week at Borchard Park. Tryouts begin at 2:30 on Monday, November 17th. BOYS SOCCER TRYOUTS FOR RETURNING PLAYERS ONLY!: will be held Monday, November 10th through, November 13th at Peppertree Park from 3-5:30pm. GIRLS BASKETBALL: Tryouts are on Wednesday and Thursday, November 12 & 13th from 7-9AM in the gym. For any questions, see the Athletics Office. NEWBURY PARK BASKETBALL ASSOCIATION 2014-2015 REGISTRATION continues at www.npbasketball.org. Save $25 by registering your player online by October 31st (non Boys High School Division) and November 15th (Boys High School Division). Fees after those dates increase to $190 (non Boys High School Division) and $205 (Boys High School Division). The additional fee for Boys High School Division covers paid scorekeepers and timekeepers for each game.
