Blessed be the one, holy, and living God.
Glory to God for ever and ever.

Collect of the Day
The Lord be with you.
And also with you.
Let us pray.
Blessed Lord, who caused all holy Scriptures to be written for our learning: Grant us so to hear them, read, mark,
learn, and inwardly digest them, that we may embrace and ever hold fast the blessed hope of everlasting life, which you
have given us in our Savior Jesus Christ; who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and
ever. Amen.

Chant: Henry Walford Davies (1869-1941) Refrain: Jeremy Filsell
To you I lift up my eyes,
to you enthroned in the heavens.
Have mercy upon us, O LORD, have mercy,
for we have had more than enough of contempt,
As the eyes of servants look to the hand of their
masters,
and the eyes of a maid to the hand of her mistress,
Too much of the scorn of the indolent rich,
and of the derision of the proud.
[Refrain]
So our eyes look to the LORD our God,
until he show us his mercy.

Nicene Creed
We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is, seen and unseen.
We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father,
God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, of one Being with the Father.
Through him all things were made. For us and for our salvation he came down from heaven:
by the power of the Holy Spirit he became incarnate from the Virgin Mary, and was made man.
For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate; he suffered death and was buried.
On the third day he rose again in accordance with the Scriptures;
he ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son.
With the Father and the Son he is worshiped and glorified.
He has spoken through the Prophets.
We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church.
We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.
We look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen.

Heavenly Creator, you have promised to hear us when we pray in the name of your Son, our Lord, Jesus Christ.
Therefore we pray for the Church: God of faith, enliven the Church for its mission
That we may be salt of the earth and light to the world.
Breathe fresh life into your people.
Give us power to reveal Christ in word and action.
Creator of all, lead us and every people into ways of justice and peace.
That we may respect one another in freedom and truth.
Awaken in us a sense of wonder for the earth and all that is in it.
Teach us to care creatively for its resources.
God of truth, inspire with your wisdom those whose decisions affect the lives of others
that all may act with integrity and courage.
Give grace to all whose lives are linked with ours.
May we serve Christ in one another, and love them as he loves us.
God of hope, comfort and restore all who suffer in body, mind or spirit.
May they know the power of your healing love.
Make us willing agents of your compassion.
Strengthen us as we share in making people whole.
We remember with thanksgiving those who have died in the faith of Christ and those whose faith
is known to you alone.
Heavenly Creator, into your hands we commend them.
Give comfort to those who mourn.
Bring them peace in their time of loss.
People
We praise you for all your saints who have entered your eternal glory.
May their example inspire and encourage us.

Let us pray for our own needs and the needs of others.

Come, Creator God, and make us a holy people;
help us to form a faith community that seeks the sacred
in all creation and calls forth the holy in all who worship here.
Come, Lord Jesus, and touch us with your love;
help us to love each other, to reach out to the poor,
to welcome and embrace all people,
and to heal and be healed by your grace and power.
Come, Holy Spirit, and send us forth in faith;
help us to work for peace and justice,
to care courageously for the world in which we live,
and to proclaim boldly our faith in Jesus Christ.
Almighty God, be with all who gather here
in the name of Jesus Christ,
and empower us for the work of ministry. Amen.

God of all mercy, we confess that we have sinned against you,
opposing your will in our lives.
We have denied your goodness in each other,
in ourselves, and in the world you have created.
We repent of the evil that enslaves us,
the evil we have done, and the evil done on our behalf.
Forgive, restore, and strengthen us through our Savior Jesus Christ,
that we may abide in your love and serve only your will. Amen.

I am Wisdom
music: Peter Hallock (1924-2014)
I am Wisdom, I come from the Most High. I cover the earth like mist, I dwell in the highest mountains. My throne is a pillar of cloud, the vault of heaven is
mine. I have a resting place in that Jerusalem. Come to me, obey me. Those who obey me will be free from sin. Those who follow me will not go astray.
The people stand as they are able. Ushers bring forward the offering plates. Oblation bearers offer bread and wine.

Great Thanksgiving
Presider
It is right, and a good and joyful thing, always and everywhere to give thanks to you, Father Almighty, Creator of
heaven and earth. For by water and the Holy Spirit you have made us a new people in Jesus Christ, to show forth your
glory in all the world.
Therefore we praise you, joining our voices with Angels and Archangels and with all the company of heaven, who
for ever sing this hymn to proclaim the glory of your Name:
Sanctus & Benedictus:
Presider
music: William Mathias
Holy and gracious Father: In your infinite love you made us for yourself; and, when we had fallen into sin and become
subject to evil and death, you, in your mercy, sent Jesus Christ, your only and eternal Son, to share our human nature,
to live and die as one of us, to reconcile us to you, the God and Father of all. He stretched out his arms upon the
cross, and offered himself in obedience to your will, a perfect sacrifice for the whole world.
On the night he was handed over to suffering and death, our Lord Jesus Christ took bread; and when he had given
thanks to you, he broke it, and gave it to his disciples, and said, “Take, eat: This is my Body, which is given for you.
Do this for the remembrance of me.”
After supper he took the cup of wine; and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them, and said, “Drink this, all of
you: This is my Blood of the new Covenant, which is shed for you and for many for the forgiveness of sins. Whenever
you drink it, do this for the remembrance of me.”
Presider
We celebrate the memorial of our redemption, O Father, in this sacrifice of praise and thanksgiving. Recalling his
death, resurrection, and ascension, we offer you these gifts. Sanctify them by your Holy Spirit to be for your people
the Body and Blood of your Son, the holy food and drink of new and unending life in him. Sanctify us also that we
may faithfully receive this holy Sacrament, and serve you in unity, constancy, and peace; and at the last day bring us
with all your saints into the joy of your eternal kingdom. All this we ask through your Son Jesus Christ. By him, and
with him, and in him, in the unity of the Holy Spirit all honor and glory is yours, Almighty Father, now and for ever.
The people hold hands during the Lord’s Prayer.
Lord’s Prayer
People
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name,
thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen.

PARISH MISSION STATEMENT
We at Epiphany are called to journey together in faith, to reveal the presence of Christ in the world, and to
proclaim the Reign of God, by sustaining a community in which all are welcome, by celebrating liturgy that
nurtures us and sends us forth, and by caring courageously for our neighbors and ourselves.
PARISH STEWARDSHIP STATEMENT
God offers us a life of abundance and calls us to celebrate our lives and unique capabilities as gifts. We believe that
God wants us to use these gifts, not only for ourselves, but for all Creation. In a world broken by unshared bread,
God invites us to a table with room enough and bread enough for all. We accept God’s invitation, and we bring with
joy our gifts to God’s table.
