The Commission on Higher Education hereby informs interested parties that the Embassy of
Brunei Darussalam in Manila has announced the call for applications for the zor5-zot6 Brunei
Darussalam Government Scholarships for Foreign Students.
Applicants may choose to study at Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD), Universiti Islam
Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA), or Institut Teknologi Brunei (lTB). The academic year for UBD,
UNISSA, and ITB will commence in July/August zor5.
Below are details on the tenure of scholarship:

The scholarship award is normally tenable for the minimum period required to obtain
the specific degree, which is four (4) years for a First Degree with Honours, one (r) to
rwo (z) years for a Master's Degree, three (3) years for a Doctoral Degree at UBD,
UNISSA and ITB, and three (3) years for Diploma of Health Science at UBD, all on a
full-time basis.
The scholarship award is subject to satisfactory academic performance and progress,
which requires the scholar to pass required examinations and attain the minimum
course units. The scholarship will be reviewed at the end of every semester.
The scholarship duration will not be extended and changes of institution or
programme is not allowed.
Benefits of the scholarship include exemption from tuition fees and other compulsory fees,
return economy class ticket, monthly personal allowance of BND5oo.oo, innual book
allowance of BND6oo.oo, monthly food allowance of BNDr5o.oo, a baggage allowance to be
granted after completion of the programme, accommodation at the chosen institution's
residential college, and complimentary outpatient medical/treatment.

In nominating your candidate, we would like to invite your attention to Items A and B of
Annex A indicating the GOP and the donor requirements and financial terms relative to the
aforementioned program.
Please submit the letter of nomination signed by the head of your institution or duly
authorized official together with the required documents on or before z4 November zor4 to
the CHED International Affairs Staff (lAS), z/F CHED Higher Education Development Center,

A. QUALIFICATION

office, agency, university or entity or its duly authorized official indicating among
others the following:
a. That the nominee has no pending administrative and criminal charges;
b. That the nominee has been conferred with a degree;
c. Assurance of utilizing the services of the nominee, if accepted for a
period of not less that two (z) years of every year of scholarship or a
fraction thereof not less than two (z) months or as provided under E.O.
367 amending E.O. rz9; and
d. That the salary of the grantee will be paid while on training and shall be
extended other financial privileges pursuant to the said Executive Order.
