The first day of the course consists of didactic presentations and faculty discussions for
up to 75 participants, who will gain an understanding of the use of capsular shrinkage,
ARIF and ORIF. The second day offers a one day cadaver hands-on lab for a maximum
of 30 participants, featuring one-on-one instruction in the latest wrist arthroscopy
repairs and open techniques.

This two day course will present the latest open and arthroscopic advances in the diagnosis and treatment of wrist disorders. It will include the various management options
for carpal instabilities, TFC tears and DRUJ instability. Arthroscopic capsulotomies,
partial carpal and ulnar head resections may have a less of a deleterious effect on wrist
motion as compared to open procedures by preventing the need for large capsular incisions. Thermal capsular shrinkage is an exciting new area for treatment of ulnar capsular
and partial intracarpal ligamentous instabilities. Arthroscopic techniques for scaphoid
nonunion fixation have become a standard of care.
