Convention Registration
Convention registration includes admittance to all sessions and identified convention activities. Convention pricing
provides a $125 discount for attendees lodging in the NBS-AERho room block at the Grand Hyatt Hotel.

Hotel Reservations
Hotel reservations for the national convention should be made directly with the Grand Hyatt Atlanta Hotel.
Reservations should be made by February 20, 2015. The hotel will provide a link to make online reservations
click here. If you prefer, you can reach the hotel central reservations by telephone at 888-421-1442. Identify
yourself as part of the National Broadcasting Society group, provide the guest name, room type (single, double,
quad), preferred bed type (king, double/double, queen, or twin. Hotel room rates apply from Monday, March 23
through Monday, March 30, 2015, if rooms are available. Convention attendees are invited to extend their stay.

Pre- and Post-Convention Hotel Room Availability
Many convention attendees plan on coming in early or staying a few days after the convention to do extended
sight-seeing. NBS will coordinate optional tours on Tuesday. More information will be posted as the year
progresses. The hotel will honor convention room rates from Monday, March 23 through Monday, March 30.
Air Transportation
Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport serves ten major airlines and twelve regional airlines.
Transportation from the Airport to the Hotel
MARTA Light Rail = $3.50 one-way $6.00 round-trip (MARTA stop is two blocks from the hotel)
Airport Shuttle = $20.50 one-way; $37.00 round-trip
Taxi = $42.00 (+$2.00 for each additional person)
Hotel Parking
If you are driving to the convention or renting a car, please notify the front desk of the hotel when you register to
get the discounted $20 per-day self-parking rate. (You will have in and out privileges.) Attendees not staying at
the hotel will pay a $15 entrance fee for self-parking each time you enter the lot. Additional parking facilities are
available near the hotel, more information will be posted.
Convention Dress
At nearly every convention, some attendees feel out of place because they were not told what to wear or did not
pack enough “convention clothes.” Most NBS convention attendees understand the significance of presenting a
good impression to the professionals they will be meeting. For most sessions, the accepted dress level is
professional attire. Some sessions are “professional casual” attire. Bring comfortable clothes for evening and
informal activities.
National Student Electronic Media Competitions
Winners of the 52nd Annual National Undergraduate Student Electronic Media Competitions will be announced
at the Saturday Awards Show. Finalists will be notified by electronic mail prior to the convention.
