Dear Parents,
Thanksgiving Celebration
Thanksgiving Day for this year is on Thursday, November 27, 2014. To celebrate the joy of Thanksgiving, the
theme for all classes on that day will focus around Thanksgiving. The children will learn about the
Thanksgiving tradition and discuss about the things for which they feel thankful in life.
This year, we are especially delighted and honored that Mr. Adam and Mrs. Beth Miazga, AJ’s parents, have
accepted our invitation to come to talk to the children about the Thanksgiving tradition in America.
Also, as part of the celebration, we would like to encourage the children to participate in the excitement of
Thanksgiving Day by bringing in their grains, fruits, or vegetables for storage and display in school
throughout the week starting Monday, November 24. The produce will be cooked and served for lunch on
Thursday, November 27.
We would also like to encourage the children to come to school dressed in autumn colors: brown, orange,
yellow, or red on Thanksgiving Day.
We look forward to a meaningful and fun-filled Thanksgiving celebration next Thursday.
November 21: Teacher-In-Service Day
Please note that this Friday, November 21, is teacher-in-service day. There will be no class for the students.
Sincerely,

Dear Parents,
Loy Krathong Day
Next Thursday, November 6, will be Loy Krathong Day. On that day, Talents International Pre-school will
organize activities to introduce the children to this unique Thai festival. We hope that the activities
planned for this event will help cultivate the pride of our Thai students in their own cultural heritage and
encourage our non-Thai students to appreciate the culture of their host country.
If possible, we would like to request you to please dress your children in Thai costumes for the day. It may
be a good idea for you to prepare an extra set of comfortable clothing for your children to change into as
they may not feel comfortable in their Thai outfits for the whole school day.
The activities will be part of the school day and are for the children to participate in. Parents need not
attend. School hours for November 6 will be the same as a normal school day.
We look forward to a great Loy Krathong celebration next Thursday. Thank you very much for your
support.
Sincerely,
Trakarn Chensy

Dear Parents,
Health Alert: Influenza
We were informed a moment ago by the parent of one of our K1 students that her child was
diagnosed with Influenza B and has been admitted to the hospital. We hope that the child will
recover and become healthy again soon.
During this flu season, we request that you closely monitor your child. If your child becomes ill
with persistent fever, coughing, or has nasal discharge, please consult your pediatrician as soon as
possible. Also, in consideration for all children, if your child has any of the aforementioned
symptoms, we request you to please keep your child at home so that s/he can get ample rest. By
doing this, you will also help the school contain the spread of the flu virus to other children, who,
at this very tender age, are vulnerable to infection. Please also inform the school immediately if
your child tests positive for Influenza A or B.
For additional information on Talents International Pre-school’s sickness procedures, please visit

Dear Parents
We would like to bring to your attention the following important events/issues:
K1-K3 Parent Mornings
Please be reminded that K1, K2, and K3 Parent Mornings will take place next week:
K1
9 a.m., Tuesday, September 23
K2
9 a.m., Wednesday, September 24
K3
9 a.m., Thursday, September 25
At the meeting, your child’s homeroom teacher will give a presentation on the curriculum and
activities planned for the whole school year and address to questions that you may have. All
parents are invited to attend this important event. The session takes about 45 minutes to 1 hour.
All three days remain normal school days for the children.
Teacher-In-service Day
Please also note that Friday, September 26, is teacher-in-service day. There will be no school for
the children.
Sick Children
Due to the recent change of weather, many children have become ill with influenza. Noticeable symptoms
include fever, nasal discharge, and persistent coughing. If your child has any of the aforementioned
symptoms, we request that you keep your child at home to get ample rest until s/he recovers so that s/he
can return to school happy and healthy. This will also help us contain the spread of the flu virus to other
children who, at this very tender age, are vulnerable to infection.
Late Arrival
We strongly encourage all children to arrive at school before classes begin. However, in case that you are
late and have to drop off your child after class activity has already begun, please do so as quietly as you
can. Say a brief good-bye before entering the classroom, and, if needed, remind your child to put away
his/her belongings at the allocated spots. Late arriving children are expected to join the ongoing class
activity as quietly and quickly as possible in order to avoid interrupting other children’s learning.
Thank you very much for your continued support and cooperation. As always, if you have any comments,
suggestions, and concerns, please do not hesitate to discuss them with us. Your feedbacks are always
greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
Trakarn Chensy
