Customer Expectation Document for Phaser 6500 and WorkCentre 6505 This document describes space, electrical, environmental and operating parameters for the Xerox Phaser 6500 Printer and WorkCentre 6505 Multifunction Printer. Customers should consider higher volume machines or multiple machines if average monthly print volume approaches duty cycle on a continual basis. Installation Considerations Copy/Print Speed The Phaser 6500 and WorkCentre 6505 print speeds vary depending upon whether it is performing single-sided printing or 2-sided printing and also which print mode it is in. Speed is based on a letter size page on 20 lb. bond. The customer is responsible for un-boxing, setup and connecting it to the network. The Phaser 6500 weighs up to 40.0 lbs (19.4 kg) lbs for the mainframe and is a two person lift. The WorkCentre 6505 weighs 62.5 lbs (28.4 kg) and is a two person lift. Please take this into consideration and determine if installation services are needed. Fee-based installation services by Xerox are available. These services do not include connecting it to the network which are still the responsibility of the customer. (this information is likely located in the User Guide, or Install Guide ) Energy Star Energy Star is a government-backed program helping businesses and individuals protect the environment through superior energy efficiency. The Phaser 6500 and WorkCentre 6505 are Energy Star qualified. This means that the machines have been tested and meet Energy Star criteria. The products automatically switch to a Power Saver mode after an idle period. The customer can adjust the Power Saver mode as described in the user manual. Up to 10 e-mail group addresses may be stored in device memory. Each e-mail group may have up to 10 addresses associated with it. Direct Scan to PC via USB and network is supported. Scan to USB memory key via front panel USB port may be necessary to try several different brands of envelopes to find one that minimizes wrinkling and jamming, and to ensure best performance All envelopes should be printed single side only Strongly suggest that Xerox transparencies be used and separate each page with transparency separators. Do not overload paper trays Duplexing Automatic printer duplexing: Automatic duplex printing on standard size media up to 8½”x14” (legal) and 20-24lb (75-90 gsm) can be performed from all trays. The Customer assumes all risk and liability for any needed Filters or Line modifications, with no guarantees of functionality by Xerox, or any of its Operating Groups or Subsidiaries. First Print Out Time (FPOT) Printer: FPOT from Ready is less than 13 seconds color and 12 seconds mono. FPOT from Power On is 34 seconds. MFP: FPOT from Ready is less than 12 seconds color and mono. FPOT from Power On is 35 seconds. Input Media Handling The Phaser 6500 and WorkCentre 6505 will feature a standard 250sheet paper tray and a single-sheet manual feed slot. In addition, the product will offer an optional 250-sheet feeder. Equipment Considerations Use only paper envelopes. Do not use envelopes with windows, metal clasps, or adhesives with release strips. It On-Site service will be provided by Xerox Employees or Authorized Service Providers. As most service issues can be resolved over the phone on the first call, customers will be expected to actively participate in the phone diagnosis and service processes. For issues that can not be resolved over the phone, customers will typically receive field service the following day.
