Continuing Medical Education Office On the Occasion of the 3rd Annual Radiologic Technology Week 2014 The Continuing Medical Education Office in coordination with the Administration at the Diagnostic Radiology Department presents Current and State of the Art: Imaging Symposium Overview: The workshop will help radiographers in understanding anatomy, physics, and pathology and their effects on selecting the right scanning protocol for the cardiovascular system. Objectives: Upon completion of this workshop, participants will be able to:        Describe the current state-of-the-art of CT and MRI scanning today and explain its impact in clinical practice Define the role of post processing techniques like MPR and 3D in clinical practice Analyse radiation dose in CT and suggest ways to minimize dose exposure to patients Identify the newest scan protocols including the optimal use of oral and IV contrast agents Discuss the daily and long-term challenges in successfully running a CT program, especially from a radiographer’s perspective Identify the role of CT and MRI in neuroradiology applications Assess the participant’s knowledge of vascular imaging including the role of 3D- imaging in these applications Date and Venue: This activity is held at the Issam Fares Lecture Hall, AUBMC on November 29th, 2014 Target Audience This symposium has been designed for radiographers, nurses, residents, and other healthcare professionals.
