The production of oil from its giant offshore fields is steadily increasing, and the Norwegian maritime and offshore industry has earned a strong position in the market. It is also a major market for renewable energy, export of Norwegian seafood, and major industry players in several other sectors are well positioned for further growth. The visit of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Haakon will be used to further strengthen our position in the market as well as creating platforms for spin-offs and new projects from the relevant sectors. The visit will also support the work of already established businesses in the country. It is demanding to do business in the Brazilian market, and local content in deliveries is of great importance. Establishing production and investing in Brazil is therefore both a barrier and an opportunity in the long term engagement in the market. Information on financing, tax, grants and other instruments are therefore of importance. Also, in a time where the market challenges are more visible than ever, it is important to think long-term and explore new opportunities. There will be held four parallel seminars regarding offshore oil and gas and maritime, renewable energy, seafood and startup companies. Our main Brazilian partners for these seminars will include major players Page 2 of 12 Version: 23 October 2015 Preliminary programme. Changes are expected as programme is continuously updated like PETROBRAS, BNDES (the Brazilian development bank), FINEP (Brazilian innovation agency) and Vale (Global mining company) as well as seafood partners and Brazilian start-up companies. Main content of the business programme The program is developed for the following sectors: Oil & Gas and Offshore Maritime Renewable Energy Seed Forum Seafood We would like to draw your attention to the planned evening reception in Rio de Janeiro.
