on. Casinos are decorating for the holidays, and no one does it quite like
BEAU RIVAGE. Be sure to visit the Biloxi resort and check out the
displays in the Promenade and the hotel lobby. Plus, the Beau’s new show,
Santa & Friends on Ice, starts Dec. 2. Running through Dec. 28, the show is
a great way to kick of your holiday celebration.
Looking for a new wine to help ring in the new year? Attend PALACE
CASINO RESORT’s Wine Social on Dec. 4. This month’s event, held in
Mignon’s Lounge, features wines for the new year. For $25 a person, enjoy
hors d’oeuvres and sample 15 wines perfect for this time of year. Wine
experts will also be on hand to answer questions.
A dining special found only in December at ISLAND VIEW CASINO
RESORT will have everyone extending their claws, I mean, hands. Get a

HARD ROCK opened its newest club, Boogie Nights, recently. We
were at the opening of the ’70s-’80s-theme dance club and had a lot of fun.
There is a light-up dance floor, spinning disco balls and music that makes
you want to “boogie-oogie-oogie.” Located above Hard Rock Live, the
club opens at 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday nights.
So, regular readers of this column know I have a December birthday.

Family Cellars at the Winter Wine Dinner. Held in Mignon’s Steaks
& Seafood on Thursday, Dec. 18, at 7 p.m., the event features a fivecourse gourmet meal.
The first course is chevre en croute with dates, walnuts and mixed
greens. The puff pastry and cheese is paired with the Martinelli Road
Chardonnay. A frisee salad with satsuma segments, walnuts and a
cranberry-pomegranate vinaigrette is the second course and is paired
with Akins Vineyard Pinot Noir.
The third course is braised veal cheeks, which is paired with a

Multi-talented Tesh comes to Island View
Performer knows how to follow his dreams
GULFPORT — John Tesh is busier than
ever. The TV and radio personality, singer,
musician and writer has spent the last few years
making new music and bringing it to audiences
through a public television special and a U.S.
tour. Tesh, known for syndicated radio show
“Intelligence For Your Life,” comes to Island

River Resort will end its $25,000 Guaranteed
Bi-Monthly Poker Tournament Series with the
final event set for Thursday through Sunday,
Dec. 11-14.
During the series, play begins on Thursday
with $65 Single Table Satellites from 10 a.m.
to 10 p.m. There will be two winners of $250
in cash value chips. From noon to 7 p.m. on
Thursdays, get in on $45 Super Satellites with
$25 rebuys — five seats guaranteed.
On Friday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., $65 Single
Table Satellites return with two winners of $250
in cash value chips. From noon to 7 p.m., take
advantage of Friday $45 Super Satellites with $25
rebuys — five seats guaranteed. At 7 p.m. Friday
starts Day 1A of the $25,000 guaranteed event.
The buy-in is $225.
From 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, $65 Single
Table Satellites resume with two winners of $250
in cash value chips. At 11 a.m., Day 1B of the
$25,000 guaranteed event begins, with Day
1C beginning at 6 p.m. The buy-in for both
of these events is $225.
Sunday at noon, surviving players begin
the Day 2 restart of the tournament. Sundays
at 4 p.m. players can compete in the $80 buyin, $2,000-added Last Chance Tournament.
