Tipping
Guidelines
When you receive good service at a casino, it
is customary to award the person giving the
good service a gratuity (tip). Jackpot! readers
ask us occassionally what the appropriate
tip to leave might be for quality service for
different casino employees. Obviously, many
things factor into this, so please note that the
information below is just a guideline, and
impeccable service would receive a higher tip.

HOROSCOPE
You are keen to pursue your objectives, Capricorn
Editor’s Note: Horoscopes are meant for entertainment purposes only
and are for the time period December 25, 2014 - January 7, 2015.
Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19) — This is
a pivotal period. Its significance may not
be wholly obvious in the shorter term
because nothing that affected you deeply ever had an
immediate impact that wouldn’t become assimilated
and altered later. Currently, you have a number of
objectives you are keen to pursue, while the only
obstacle is the unsettled and unpredictable situation
at home and in your family.
Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18) — Mars has
you engaged with what is happening around
you, encouraging a proactive approach to
the issues. The energy of the red planet needs to be
deployed productively. There is plenty taking place
behind the scenes that others may not appreciate,
but don’t let irritability spoil great relationship trends.
Pisces (Feb. 19-March 19) — Neptune
through your constellation means your
planetary ruler is in your sign. You can’t
wish it away as it takes a long trip around the zodiac.
You are idealistic, caring, sensitive and even more
intuitive than usual. You also notice all that is less
than perfect in your life and how the failings of your
current reality differ so from what you’d want
Aries (March 20-April 19) — Five out
of 10 astrological planets are highlighting
your career affairs, along with your wider
ambitions. This emphasis is not new, but the urge to
walk away from unrewarding circumstances and leave
the past behind hits like a breath of fresh air.
Taurus (April 20-May 20) — You have
been growing on an inner level for years.
Perhaps this started with some major event
or a series of outcomes all close together that rocked
you to the core. Recovering from these challenges
took time and caused you to face certain questions.
Gemini (May 21-June 20) — You long
for a little more permanence and for a few
firm footholds to rely upon. But there are
occasions when the prospect of an alternative proves
welcome and beneficial. In an ideal world you might
28 JACKPOT! MAGAZINE ‡ December 25, 2014 - January 7, 2015
not keep very much as it is at the moment, after all.
Cancer (June 21-July 22) — Half the
known planets congregate in your opposite
sign. This means the people around you
playing a big part in your week, while those you are
involved with intimately are to the forefront. Close
friends also take on a major role, especially if there is
nobody who really fits the bill otherwise.
Leo (July 23-Aug. 22) — Looking after
your health need not be tedious. The show
mainly does go on, wars are waiting to
be won and your glories need neither tarnish nor
diminish. You can still dispense largesse, slake your
appetites and quench your immeasurable thirst.
Virgo (Aug. 23-Sep. 22) — Festive is
the watchword for you this week, amid
an atmosphere that has been exceptionally
serious for too long. With problems off the agenda, it
is time to celebrate the end of another year.
Libra (Sep. 23-Oct. 22) — Several planets
gather in your domestic zone, mainly as a
consequence of this time of year. Your home
and family affairs are therefore in the spotlight. The
picture is a peaceful and a pleasant one, although you
can’t deny the unspoken undercurrents that underpin
this state of affairs.
Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21) — This will be
a sociable week, with more mail and phone
calls than usual, augmented by the usual
round of messages, emails and texts. People will
want and expect your time, so you should be ready to
receive a number of invites, plus you may be sending
out a few yourself to colleagues and friends.
Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21) — Make
the most of opportunities since having your
neighborhood star in your constellation helps
the universe align with your objectives. Assess where
money should take second place.

Mississippi casino courses
earn national recognition
MISSISSIPPI — Fallen Oak and The Preserve Golf Club both
rose in Golfweek’s top 100 “Best Resort Courses, 2015” rankings,
highlighting four Mississippi courses honored on the annual
list. Dancing Rabbit (Oaks) at Pearl River Resort and Grand Bear
Golf Course were included among the “Next 100 Resort Courses”
to round out the state’s collection of nationally acclaimed courses.
Golfweek rates courses each year on criteria that include overall
strength of routing, shaping, natural setting, variety of holes and
conditioning. Fallen Oak jumped a spot to No. 16 in the rankings
to remain one of the best resort courses in the country. Open
exclusively to guests of Beau Rivage Resort & Casino in Biloxi, the
Tom Fazio design hosts the Champions TOUR Mississippi Gulf
Resort Classic each spring.
Unranked last year, The Preserve, an amenity of Palace Casino
Resort in Biloxi, captured the state’s other top 100 placement at
No. 97. Grand Bear — an amenity of Harrah’s Gulf Coast — is
a 7,200-yard Jack Nicklaus Signature design. The Oaks course at
Dancing Rabbit Golf Club is a creation of Fazio and Pate, and is
found at Pearl River Resort in Choctaw.
