Weather forecast summary: The sky will remain variably cloudy. No rainfall is expected during next five days.
Wind will blow slightly above its normal speed by 4 km/hr. Maximum temperature shall range between 16 to 18 oC
whereas minimum temperature shall range between 03 to 04 oC. The relative humidity during morning will be 70 80 % and during afternoon may range between 50 – 60 %.

Advisory for coming 5 days: Due to prevailing weather conditions, farmers are advised to ensure proper
bedding material (rice husk/saw dust) to protect newly born chicks from the cold.

- Sowing of wheat varieties VL-829 and PBW-175 under the
rainfed conditions and VL- 892, VL-738, VL-804, HS-507 for
both irrigated and rainfed areas are recommended for
Intermediate lower zone.

For Intermediate higher zone sowing of wheat varieties
VL-829 & VL-892, VL – 907, HS-240 & PBW-154
are recommended.

Treat the seed with carboxin (Vitavax), carbendazim (2g/kg
seed) or tebuconazole (1.25g/kg seed) for managing the seed
borne diseases like loose smut, flag smut, hill bunt, Karnal bunt
and leaf blight.

Harvest the crop when pods turn yellow. Harvested crop should
be stacked for 7-10 days before threshing.

Sowing of Kranti, RLM 514, RLM 619, Varuna and RH 30 is
recommended in Intermediate lower zone.

Apply Fluchloralin @ 0.70 kg a.i./ha as Pre plant incorporation
(PPI) or Pendimethalin @ 1.0 kg a.i./ha (pre-emergence)
dissolved in 500-600 during non rainy day for effective control
annual grasses and broad leaved weeds in mustard.

Advised transplanting of cauliflower (Pusa Synthetic, Giant
Snowball, Punam, Pusa Hybrid-2 and NS-60), cabbage (Golden
Acre, Pride of India and Pusa Mukta) and knoll- khol (White
Vienna, Purple Vienna and King of Market) in intermediate
lower zone of the region.

In Intermediate higher zone sowing of radish (Japanese White,
Pusa Reshmi & Pusa Himani). Transplanting of knolkhol (White
Vienna, Purple Vienna & King of Market) is advised.

Do timely weeding in all vegetable crops for good yield.

Sowing of pea varieties (T-163, PG-2 and Rachna) is
recommended.
Sowing of gram (C-235, Gaurav, K-468, SCS-3 and PBG-1) is
recommended.
Sowing of lentil (L-9/12 and PL-406) is recommended.

Treat the seed with captan or thiram (3g/kg seed) for the
management of collar /root rot, rust and wilt in pea, chick pea
and lentil. Inoculate with Rhizobium culture (200-250g/acre)
before sowing.

One or two hoeing and weeding between 20 & 40 days after
sowing are beneficial for good yield.

Farmers are advised for harvesting of delicious cultivars of
apple in Intermediate higher zone. Collect diseased fallen
fruits for destruction by burning of the same as advance
measures for control of scab and other diseases. Lay out for
establishing new apple orchards are advised.

burning of the same, as advanced measure for control of leave
born diseases.

Keep the basins of the plants free from weeds. While doing
weed eradication it is very important to be careful that plant
roots are not injured in anyway.

Farmers are recommended to go for sowing of berseem (var.
Mescavi, Pusa Giant, BL-1 and Vardan).
Use 25-30 kg seed per hectare. Mix one kg of mustard with
berseem in order to increase the quantity of fodder during first
cut.

After casing, keep the bags in a growing room at 23+2 oC for
one week. Then bring down the temperature to 13+2 oC to
initiate pinning. When pinning is profuse, do not spray water
directly on the pin heads. Maintain complete hygiene in the
mushroom house.

Provide winter packing for protection against cold and frost,
when bees start forming clusters in temperate region.

Clean the cowshed and the utensils to avoid the contamination

Normal feeding schedule should be continued and add minerals

water to the birds.
Ensure proper bedding material (saw dust/rice husk) to protect
new born chicks from the cold.
