Safeguarding and Child Protection
The Trust and all its schools are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of
children and expects all staff to share this commitment. All new staff within the Trust will be
subject to an enhanced DBS check.
Each school has a designated senior member of the leadership team who is responsible for
referring and monitoring any suspected case of abuse. All members of staff will receive
training in line with our child protection policy.

Job Description
Overview
The role will be to provide:
1. Operational support for the IT Infrastructure
2. Maintenance of the Microsoft Office 365 Presence(s)
3. Configuration/Development of LAN/WAN/WLAN technologies
4. Management of Web filtering systems
5. Configuration/Development of Security systems
Accountable to
1. Torch Academy Gateway Trust CEO and Board of Directors
2. Group IT Consultant
Specific Responsibilities
1. Ensure the availability of all ICT Infrastructure for the Trust and its partner schools
2. Develop the IT Infrastructure (including network, servers, storage, applications,
management tools, internet provision) to maximize the investment in technology and ensure
efficient deployment of resources
3. The effective implementation, maintenance and development of the ICT Infrastructure and
network to support the current and future development needs of the Trust and it’s partner
schools
4. Work with key stakeholders to ensure that the ICT Service and Infrastructure meet the
strategic and operational requirements
5. Develop and deploy methodologies for testing network performance and security
6. Support the development of curriculum innovation by ensuring a robust infrastructure to
support emerging technologies
7. Ensure that changes, projects and improvements are delivered in a structured, consistent
and quality assured manner and meet their agreed objectives
8. Maintain an effective disaster recovery plan for the trust and its partner schools
9. Ensure comprehensive documentation of the ICT Infrastructure is maintained at all times
10. Management of web filtering systems
11. Maintain an SLA level of 99.9% for the ICT Infrastructure

13. Provide additional support the for other areas of the Central ICT Services when required
Additional Information
The post holder will be based at Toot Hill School in Bingham but the role will require regular
travel between the schools in the Trust and our Partnership schools as and when required.
All work related travel expenses will be reimbursed by the Trust.
