INVITATION
Dear colleagues, dear friends,
The development of medicine, primarily neuroscience within the last decade,
along with a series of new discoveries, technological improvements and
achievements, is impressive for us neurosurgeons.
To participate in this extraordinary momentum with a purpose of providing
the most adequate care to patients with diseases of the central and the
peripheral nervous system, is a noble, complex, and extremely demanding
process. Therefore, the worldwide neurosurgical community makes huge
efforts to alleviate and accelerate this undertaking and achieve better results.
We are constantly witnessing new breakthroughs and successes, but at the
same time are participating in seeking answers that have not yet been found.
The exchange of experience, the analysis of results, and evaluations of
progress are of crucial importance in achieving common goals and higher
quality in our everyday work. Gatherings as the 7th Congress of the Croatian
Neurosurgical Society are a great opportunity to round up all experts whose
knowledge can contribute to improving the surgical treatment of disorders
of the central and the peripheral nervous system. Along with neurosurgeons,
the congresses of the Croatian Neurosurgical Society has always gathered
colleagues and friends from the field of clinical neurosciences. We expect their
contribution this time around as well. Science that has no boundaries and
the forthcoming congress do not picture just an opportunity for gathering
of experts, but also friends; it is a venue for sharing experiences, establishing
new collaborations, and seeking joint programs and projects.
Zagreb, the capital of Croatia, is ideal for assembling the ‘neuro-community’
based on its cultural, geographic, transportation, and accommodation
features enriched by our previous similar experiences. Thus, we rightfully
hope that, during the 7th Congress of the Croatian Neurosurgical Society, your
stay in Zagreb will be comfortable and successful.

CALL FOR ABSTRACTS
Participants who would like to present an oral or poster presentation should
submit an abstract for consideration by the Scientific Committee. The abstracts
should be submitted in English and will be published in the indexed journal
‘Neurologia Croatica’. The Scientific Committee will determine whether the
abstract will be accepted for an oral or poster presentation.
The presenting author is required to ensure that all co-authors are aware of
the content of the abstract before submission to the Congressional Service,
Studio Hrg, and of all communications thereafter.
Instructions for writing abstracts

abstracts should be written in English
abstract font: Arial 10 pts
abstract headline should be capitalized Arial 12 pts
author’s and co-author’s last name and first name initial without titles
author’s and co-author’s institution, city, and country
author’s e-mail address
abstract length: up to 350 words
text of the abstract: aim, methods, results and conclusion
linguistic accuracy is the responsibility of the author
previously published abstract will not be accepted
accepted abstracts will be published in the indexed journal ‘Neurologia
Croatica’, the official journal of the Croatian Neurological Society and
the Croatian Neurosurgical Society
- IMPORTANT NOTE: translation of symbols within online forms may not
always be accurate - we recommend you transcribe symbols (e.g. β

Abstracts submitted via the conference web site will be sent to the Scientific
Committee for review. If you do not have internet access, please contact the
Congress Secretariat.
Please follow the instructions on the web site step-by-step. Please do not
submit multiple copies of the same abstract.
You will receive confirmation that your abstract has been forwarded for

review, indicating the abstract number which it has been allocated. Please
refer to the abstract number in all correspondence regarding the abstract.
Only the abstracts of the registered presenters will be included in the Program
and the Book of Abstracts.

Notification of Acceptance of abstracts will be sent electronically to the
corresponding author by June 30, 2014
INSTRUCTIONS FOR SPEAKERS AND POSTER PRESENTERS
After receiving abstracts, the Scientific Committee will decide whether a
submitted paper will be selected for oral or poster presentation.
Oral Presentation
- presentation time: 10 minutes
- invited speakers: 20 minutes
Speakers are kindly asked to prepare their computer presentations at least
one hour before their lecture in the preparation room and give them to the
Congress Secretariat technician.
Poster Presentations
Posters will be displayed in a digital form on two display panels. Posters may
include text, figures and images. The authors are kindly asked to prepare and
send their digital posters in the pdf format (portrait format, 70 (w) x 100 (h) cm)
by October 31, 2014 to [email protected]

Cancellations and Refunds
All cancellations of Congress registration, which must include one’s full bank
account details, should be sent in writing to the Congress Secretariat Studio
Hrg.
Cancellations received no later than July 31, 2014 will be refunded in full
except VAT and administrative fee of 10%.
Cancellation received after July 31, 2014 will not be refunded.

Official language is English. Simultaneous translation will not be provided.
Attendance Certificate
A Certificate of Attendance will be issued to all registered participants.
For members of the Croatian Medical Chamber, active participation at the
Congress will be valuated with 20 points, passive attendance will be valuated
with 15 points. The Congress will be evaluated with UEMS points.
Letter of Invitation
Organizing Committee will issue the Letter of Invitation upon request, to be
used for visa application and for your employer. However, it does not oblige
the Organizers to any financial support or reimbursement of the Congress
