CONVERSATION CAFÉ Fridays 5 Sept-7 Nov,

The Conversation Café is a 10-week program which aims to
an opportunity to practice English conversation skills. Hosted
by Multicultural and Diversity Librarian, Mare Maticevski, who
has a background in teaching.
Anyone is welcome. Colouring-in activities will be provided for
children while their parents take part. Sessions each week will
be partly themed, with flexibility for conversations to take their
own course. It is not a requirement for participants to attend

An annual celebration of home food growing traditions. Visit home

Moreland's Public Art Prize is on again. Project Oh!
installed at Gowrie Station, on the Upfield Line near
Fawkner. Project Oh! is a development of the plastic
toy faces, although now the look even more surprised
as they are installed in a disused newspaper sellers
stand in an outer suburban train station. The project
has a small participatory element, a bit of handy work
with fuzzy felt which only takes a minute and is fun for
all ages. Take part in making your own portrait using
jewels with Roseanne Bartley at Gowrie Station.

Tracking With The Pitcha Makin Fellaz (exhibition) 29 Oct - 23 Nov
Come and see the twelve giant animal designs created by kids at ArtPlay with the Pitcha Makin Fellaz. The Fellaz are a group of 7
Aboriginal men from Ballarat who create art together and have developed their own unique style. The kids explored aboriginal stories of
the Yarra and worked with the Fellaz to learn their techniques. Using stamps, paint and patterns they created 2-metre high animals.
Everyone is invited to the launch party at 3pm on Sunday 2 November at ArtPlay (drinks & nibbles provided).

In conjunction with the major survey exhibition The Dawn, artist Emily Floyd invites visitors to experience two interactive spaces that
encourage creativity using letters and words. The first project in collaboration with designer and educator Mary Featherston, provides a
social space for families, inviting young visitors to make ephemeral sculptures using specially made letter blocks. In an adjacent space,
experimentation with design and typography is encouraged through a Small Press equipped with copiers and typewriters, where
visitors can put their thoughts on paper, creating their own short-run publication.
