It is used in conjunction with an external switching device such as a time clock switch, motion sensor or switched wire. Switched Supply Operation - The ballast switches on at full power and dims to a predetermined level when the switched supply is absent, The ballast will then quickly return to full 100% output when switched supply is present. Reduced Energy Consumption - A standard SwitchedDim ballast saves 30% of power when dimmed.
