Stipend fra Jubileumsfondet skoleåret 2015-2016

Det lyses ut stipender for skoleåret 2015-2016 i henhold til de vedlagte retningslinjene. Det viktigste å
merke seg er:
Stipendet består for eleven i fri kost og losji ett skoleår. For dette refunderer fondet skolen
50% av gjeldende minstepris for kost og losji. Friplassen er altså et «spleiselag» mellom skolen
og fondet. Se stipendreglene pkt. 4. Skolen avgjør selv om den vil tilby elever plass på disse
betingelsene.
Det kan også søkes om lommepenger. Dette var nytt fra i fjor. Det kan innvilges
kr 5 000 i lommepenger for ett skoleår. Søknad sendes på eget skjema.
For utenlandske søkere
Stipendet kan bare gis til utenlandske søkere som faller utenfor støtteordningene i Statens lånekasse for
utdanning, eller tilsvarende ordninger i andre land.
Reiseutgifter, utgifter til skoleåret ut over kost og losji, og lommepenger ut over evt. stipend på kr 5 000,
må søkeren finansiere utenom stipendet.
Søknad sendes via skolen
Det legges fortsatt opp til at stipendsøknad sendes til skolen i forbindelse med søknad om skoleplass.
Skolen prioriterer om nødvendig mellom søkerne, og videresender søknaden til NKF-kontoret.
Søknadsfristen for elevene er 1. mars.
Skolenes frist for å sende søknadene til NKF-kontoret er 10. mars 2015.
Ordningen med et mindre stipend til ungdom som var innskrevet i fondets gaveprotokoller før
1. juli 1992, føres videre. Informasjon og søknadsskjema for disse stipendene blir sendt i eget
rundskriv. Informasjon om dette er utelatt i den engelske teksten.

STIPENDREGLER FOR H.M. KONG OLAV V’S JUBILEUMSFOND
1.
Fondets formål
Fondet ble opprettet i forbindelse med 100-årsjubileet for den kristne folkehøgskolen i
Norge i 1993. Fondets formål er å gi økonomisk støtte til ungdom mellom 16 og 25 år til
helårskurs på en kristen folkehøgskole.

Aktuelle søkergrupper.
Utenlandske søkere som faller utenfor støtteordningene i Statens lånekasse for utdanning,
eller tilsvarende ordninger i andre land.
Unge som var innskrevet i fondets gaveprotokoll før 1. juli 1992, har rett til et mindre
stipend, uavhengig av kriteriene ovenfor. Jfr. også pkt. 7 om søknadsfrist.

Kriterier for tildeling
I tillegg til aldersbegrensningen i pkt. 1, og det som er sagt om aktuelle søkergrupper i pkt.
2, skal det legges vekt på en behovsprøving ut fra søkerens økonomiske situasjon, jf pkt. 6.
4.
Stipendenes størrelse
Stipendet gis i samarbeid mellom fondet og en skole. Det innebærer fri kost og losji på en
av de kristne folkehøgskolene.
Det kan også søkes om lommepenger. Beløp: kr 5 000.
Stipend som gis ut fra gaveprotokollene, jf pkt 2, er for tiden på kr 2 000.

Kunngjøring
A. Informasjon om stipendet sendes ut sammen med skolebrosjyrer og annet
informasjonsmateriell fra Informasjonskontor for kristen folkehøgskole. Slik informasjon
sendes ikke der en vet at søkeren faller utenfor den aktuelle søkergruppen.
B. Den enkelte skole informerer søkere på samme måte ved utsending av eget
informasjonsmateriell.
6.
Søknaden
Søknaden skrives på eget skjema, som sendes ut fra skolen eller fra informasjonskontoret.
Søknaden skal inneholde opplysninger om søkerens økonomi (evt. foresattes økonomi for
umyndige søkere). Søknaden sendes til den aktuelle skolen.
7.
Søknadsfrist, og behandling av søknader
Søknaden må sendes til den aktuelle skolen innen 1. mars.
Skolen prioriterer inntil to søkere, og sender disse til NKF-kontoret innen 10. mars. Styret
for fondet foretar tildeling av stipend innen 31. mars, og sender svar til skolene. Skolen
informerer søkerne om resultatet.
Elever som var innskrevet i fondets gaveprotokoller før 1. juli 1992, kan søke stipend etter
at de har begynt på folkehøgskolen. Søknadsfrist vil bli kunngjort gjennom skolene tidlig i
skoleåret.
8.
Utbetaling av stipend
Fondet refunderer skolen 50 % av veiledende minstepris for kost og losji på folkehøgskole.
Eventuelle lommepenger blir overført fra fondet til skolen, som utbetaler til eleven.
Stipend ut fra gaveprotokollene utbetales til eleven gjennom skolen.

H.M. Kong Olav V’s Jubileumsfond dekker kostnader som kost og losji. Men noen kan også få et lommepenger på kr.
500 (I dag: ca 90 USD) hver måned mens de går på folkehøgskolen. Dette skal være et bidrag for å hjelpe elevene
møte de daglige behovene.
Ikke alle som søker vil få lommepenger, det er opp til Jubileumsfondet sitt kontor.

Scholarship Information about
His Majesty King Olav’s Centennial Fund
Purpose
This Fund was established in connection with the centennial celebration of the Christian folk high schools
in Norway in 1993. The purpose of the Centennial Fund is to provide financial support to enable students
between 16 and 25 years of age to attend a Christian folk high school in Norway.
Who Can Apply
Foreign applicants who do not qualify for support from the Norwegian State Loan Fund or similar support
programs in other Nordic countries.
Criteria for Allocations
In addition to the age and financial stipulations (see above), the applicant’s financial situation will be
taken into consideration through a needs-based assessment..
Amount
The scholarship, granted cooperatively by the Fund and individual schools, amounts to free room and
board at one of the Christian folk high schools. In addition, pocket money may be applied for, in the
amount of NOK 5000.
Information
 Information about the scholarship will be distributed along with school folders and other types of
informational materials from the Information Office of the Christian Folk High Schools (IKF).
This information will not be included to applicants that do not meet the scholarship stipulations of
age and financial support (see above).
 Individual schools will inform their applicants in the same way when sending their own
informational materials.
Application Form
The Centennial Fund application form must be filled out. This form can be requested from the folk high
school or from the IKF (see below). Applicants are required to provide information about their finances
(or the finances of their parents/guardians if they are under age). The completed application form must be
sent directly to the school that the applicant wants to attend.
Deadline and Processing of Applications
The completed application form must be postmarked by March 1. Each school ranks two applicants in
order of preference and provides this information to the IKF by March 10. The Board of Directors of the
Centennial Fund allocates the scholarships by March 31 and informs the appropriate schools. The
individual schools then inform the applicants.
Payment
The individual schools are reimbursed directly from the Fund. If pocket money is granted, these funds
will be transferred to the school, which pays them to the student.

Application for pocket money:
His Majesty King Olav’s Centennial Fund only covers expenses for food and lodging, but based on a test of means
(see the questions above) some applicants will also receive a small amount, 500 NOK (to day: approx 90 USD) each
month of their stay in Norway at a Folk High School. This is to help students to meet the everyday needs, because of
the relatively high living expenses in Norway.
Not everybody that applies for Additional Financial Aid will receive pocket money. It is up to the Centennial Fund
Office to decide, based on a test of means.
