David Zahle | Partner
Biography
David Zahle is Partner and responsible for many of BIG’s award winning projects from
concept design through construction. He has extensive experience in all phases of a project
and has through his work focus on management and on creating results through teamwork.
David’s overview and good understanding of economics and the client and user needs is a
strength that allows him to quickly get to the core of a project with rational, innovative and
visionary results. David’s most recently completed project is the Danish Maritime Museum.
David led the competition team in 2007 and was subsequently both the design responsible
and the project manager of this unique building that opened up to the public in 2013. David
played a big role in designing the winning proposal for the Psychiatric Hospital in Helsingør
where he also served as the project architect until the project got inaugurated in 2006. In
addition, David has overseen the design of many prominent projects including a new art
gallery and sculpture park in Norway, Västerås Travel Center, an Education Center in Faroe
Islands and the prize winning Amager Resource Center. David furthermore lectures in Denmark and abroad on BIG projects and working methods.
