Restore the Guest Book GULLION Loreda Maxine Meadows Gullion, August 6, 1925-July 14, 2009, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's, Loreda passed away peacefully at home with her husband at her side. Loreda was born and raised in Huntington, West Virginia and graduated from high school in Huntington in 1943. She attended business school after graduation for training as a key punch operator; she also received training and worked as a painter for Rainbow Glassware. Loreda worked for the Veterans Administration in West Virginia and later transferred to Jacksonville, Florida with the VA. She was working at Jax Naval Air Station in Jacksonville when she met her husband. After marrying she gave up her career to become a fulltime homemaker, raising four children. She lived in Jacksonville until 1975 when the family moved to Bradford County. Loreda was the only child born to the late Forrest and Effie Meadows and was the beloved wife of Clarence Gullion for over 51 years. Loreda will forever be remembered by her children Denise Orsborn of Bradenton, Florida, Forrest Gullion of Hampton, FL, Gerald Gullion of Batavia, Ohio and Michelle Howe of Wake Forest, North Carolina. She had 4 grandchildren Andrew, Sarah, Mark, and Kaidi. Loreda loved being a mother and wife; she enjoyed gardening and grew the most beautiful flowers. After her husband's retirement they traveled - ADVERTISEMENT - throughout central and western United States. Loreda touched the lives of many people with her smile and gentle spirit. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Starke, Florida. Friends and family are invited to attend a funeral service on July 16, 2009 at 11am at Archie Tanner Funeral Services. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests all donations be sent to the tireless people who gave such wonderful care for Loreda in her time of need at Tidewell Hospice and Palliative Care, 5955 Rand Blvd., Sarasota, FL 34238 941-923-5822.
