In these tough economic times, we know more families are seeking simple, dignified services and are not willing to pay the high prices charged by most funeral homes, many of which are owned by big corporations. Because we don’t maintain a large fleet of luxury vehicles or have lavish facilities, we’re able to save you thousands of dollars without compromising service. Robert E. Lamon Funeral Director/Owner General Price List The goods and services shown below are those we can provide to our customers. You may choose only the items you desire. However, any funeral arrangements you select will include a charge for our basic services and overhead. If legal or other requirements mean you must buy any items you did not specifically ask for, we will explain the reason in writing on the statement we provide describing the funeral goods and services you selected. Basic Services of Funeral Director and Staff $700 Includes 24 hour availability of staff; initial receiving, handling, and sheltering of remains; the arrangement conference; obtaining obituary information and placing newspaper notices; funeral or memorial service planning; consulting or coordinating arrangements with family, clergy, cemetery, crematory, florists, and other third parties; obtaining and filing necessary authorizations and permits; and a share of our overhead expenses. This fee for our basic services and overhead will be added to the total cost of the funeral arrangements you select. (This fee is already included in our charges for direct cremations, immediate burials, and forwarding or receiving remains.) Embalming $400 Embalming is not required by law. Embalming may be necessary, however, if you select certain funeral arrangements, such as a funeral with viewing. If you do not want embalming, you usually have the right to choose an arrangement that does not require you to pay for it, such as direct cremation or immediate burial. If you want to arrange a direct cremation, you can use an alternate container. Alternate containers encase the body and can be made of materials like fiberboard or composition materials (with or without an outside covering). The containers we provide are fiberboard. A. Direct cremation with casket provided by our funeral home $800 (plus cost of casket) Additional crematory fee for remains exceeding 300 pounds $500 Methods of Payment Payment in full is expected at the time of arrangements. To avoid the possibility of misunderstanding or confusion, we have made the following payment options available to you for your convenience. Please let us know which one is appropriate for you. If you anticipate any difficulty in meeting this obligation, please feel free to discuss it with us. Please note that we cannot invoice estates. A. B. C. D. E. We will accept cash or check as full payment prior to services. We will accept credit card payment in the form of Visa, MasterCard or Discover. We will honor an irrevocable insurance assignment that is to be completed at the time of the arrangement conference. We will need an original or copy of the insurance policy. Indiana Memorial will confirm with the insurance company that the amount of the policy will cover charges in full. If the assigned insurance policy fails to pay contract balance, the remaining amount due will need to be paid by one of the other payment options. Any charges not covered by the insurance policy will have to be paid before services are rendered. Please note: All valid insurance policies/assignments are processed by our Funeral Funding Center. A 3.5% processing fee will be added to all insurance assignments. We accept most Township Trustee assistance. We will file the necessary paperwork for Medicaid and/or VA burial benefits. We do not warrant or claim that any casket or vault we offer is airtight and/or watertight. We do not claim that any casket or vault we offer has preservative qualities. Our funeral home hereby expressly disclaims all warranties, expressed or implied, relating to the merchandise we offer including, but not limited to, the implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. The only warranties, expressed or implied, granted in connection with merchandise we offer are the express written warranties, if any, granted by the manufacturer.
