This letter is to inform you as to your rights and to give you notice that your employment will terminate by reason of retirement on [DATE] unless we agree otherwise. You are entitled to make a request to delay your retirement. Your request should be sent in writing to [NAME] as soon as possible but in any event by [DATE) The request should state whether you would like retirement to be delayed indefinitely, for a specific period or until a specific date in the future. We will aim to arrange a meeting to discuss your request within [14 days OR OTHER REASONABLE PERIOD] of receipt. A meeting may not be necessary if we decide to agree to your request in full. After the meeting we will write to notify you of our decision, which you will have a right to appeal.
