VERVERIS News Death Notice VERVERIS, Thalia E. passed away peacefully on the morning Tuesday, May 25, 2010, at the age of 77 at Hospice of Dayton in Dayton, OH. She was born July 8, 1932 in Middletown, OH to Stavro and Maria (Antoniou) Thomas and resided here her entire life. Following her graduation from Middletown High School in 1950, she worked in the offices of the Cincinnati Gas and Electric Co. and then in the Probate Court in Hamilton. She married Nicholas Ververis in 1961 and devoted her life tirelessly to her church, civic organizations, her family and treasured friends. She served as past president of the Ladies Philoptochoso Society of Middletown Greek Orthodox Church; past president of Chryssa Chapter of the Daughters of Penelope where she served as President of the Local Chapter and also started on the District Level as Marshall and other different positions ending as District Governor. Thalia was awarded Penelope of the Year in addition to Special Sister of the Year. She was a member of the St. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church. She is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Nina Ellis, Christine Dawson. Thalia is survived by her husband, Nick Ververis of 49 years; sons, Dean Ververis, Stavro "Steve" Ververis, Chris (Barbara) Ververis all of Middletown, Angelo (Stacy) Ververis of Superior, MT; grandchildren, Mica, Nicholas, Kaleb, Alex, Mark, Josh; great-grandchild, Savannah and numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and relatives. The family would like to thank Hospice of Butler and Warren County, Hospice of Dayton and Hospice Care of Middletown for all their wonderful care of Thalia. Visitation will be held Thursday, May 27, 2010 from 5:00-8:00 PM at Baker-Stevens-Parramore Funeral Home with a church prayer service at 5:30 PM with Very Rev. William Cassis officiating and at 7:00 PM a Daughters of Penelope prayer service. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, May 28, 2010 at 11:00 AM at St. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church with Rev. Father Mark Emroll officiating. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church, 2500 Grand Avenue, Middletown, OH 45044.
