How to Add Sub-Accounts in
QuickBooks?
QuickBooks not just facilitate you to manage your accounts by maintaining
records. It also provides you the ability to add sub-accounts under the

Method to set Sub-Accounts:
 Open the List Menu and select the “Chart of Account”. Move the
cursor to the botom of the page and select “New” from the
“Accounts” opton.
 Select the Sub-Account Type from the drop-down list. The Type of
the subaccount should match the type for the main account. Select
from these optons: “Income”, “Expense”, “Liability”, “Asset or
“Bank”. Add a check Mark on the box “Sub-Account of”
 Open the drop-down list for the “Tax Line” and select the tax line
afer consultng with your accountant. You need to Provide tax lines
only once to your sub-accounts.
 Next, you need to Enter a Startnn Balance in that feld. Leave the
startng balance as zero if this account is new and you have yet not
made any transactons. Click the OK buton afer providing for this
feld.
