Summerlott DECATUR — Lela Hicks Summerlott, age 97, passed away February 15 ,2014 at LeHigh Hospice in Ft. Myers, Florida after a brief illness. Mrs. Summerlott was born in Ramsey, Illinois on February 22, 1916 to parents, Rebecca Rhodes and Thomas Jefferson Hicks. On March 25, Lela 1933 she married Summerlott Ralph Summerlott, to whom she remained happily married for 71 years until his death on February 12, 2004. Mrs. Summerlott was a faithful member of East Park Baptist Church in Decatur, Illinois for many years until moving to Ft Myers, Florida. She will be greatly missed by her friends at Southwest Baptist Church in Ft Myers, where she has been an active member for several years. Mrs. Summerlott will be remembered as a devout Christian who shared her faith with everyone she met. Mrs. Summerlott was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers: Herschel, Joseph and Albert Hicks and three sisters: Josie Pope, Bertha Ashburn and Netta Entsminger.
