We learned to keep going even if we think we have failed. We are taught to follow our dreams . . . It’s nice we learned tons of lessons that are good for our life but we had so much fun!” – Student on A Single Shard “SCT serves so many purposes—not only does it bring books and language alive but it also serves as part of our unit on careers (acting, writing, set building, etc.). My class has been coming to SCT twice a season for nearly 20 years and we always leave with satisfied smiles. Thank you for helping keep the arts alive in our schools and community!” – Seattle Public School teacher 2011-12 MAINSTAGE SHOWS In 2011-12, SCT presented a dynamic season featuring both literary titles and new works, expanding education programs and building our subscriber family. This season included two world premiere productions, which received much acclaim and have since been re-mounted at other theatres. We extended four of the season’s six productions, largely due to demand from our school show audiences. We are proud of the range in thematic content and artistic style. 3 EASON OVERVIEW Harold and the Purple Crayon Robin Hood A Year with Frog and Toad A Single Shard September 22, 2011 – October 30, 2011 October 20, 2011 – November 27, 2011 November 17, 2011 – January 15, 2012 February 23, 2012 – March 18, 2012 Lyrics by Play by Based on the books by Based on the book by Robert Burgess Greg Banks Arnold Lobel Linda Sue Park Music by Illustration by Music by Adapted by Auston James JoeRoberts.co.uk Copywright ©2010.
